Well V2, some ignorant person down-voted me without realizing that the guide was finished. Guide to high survivability Anivia; Utility, Farmer and Caster Anivia. This build will not make her a hard DPS caster but instead a tough icy bird. This is my 5th build; so go easy and it helps to see over 1 thousand views and 2 or 1 votes up (really inspiring). Anyways lets get serious, serially.


AA - Auto-Attack
Armor - The resistance of physical damage
AP - Ability Power, key stat for casters
AoE -Glacial Storm and attack capable of damaging many enemies at the same time
AS (-AS) - The rate/frequency or duration between attacks
CC - Crowd Control
-> Stun -Flash Frost Immobilises movement, attack and leaves the target open for a short period of time.
-> Immobilizes/Snare - (None) Anivia's worst enemy, Immobilizes movement
-> Fear - (None) Unpredictable, Immobolizes control and and forces the champion to move in a random direction
-> Slow -Flash Frost &Glacial Storm - Lowers movement, there are two types of slows; the Chill Slow and Tread Slow also to stack slow, different slows must be used so getting Rylai's Crystal Scepter will not increase slow for Anivia
Physical -> Damage Per Second of a type of champion such asMaster Yi andXin Zhao
Magical -> Damage Per Second of a type of champion such asAnnie andRyze
CD - The duration before a spell can be used again
CDR - The reduction of the duration before a spell can be used again
ExP - An Experience Point
Kiting - The act of retreat however turning around occasionally to attack chasers
Juking - The act of tricking a person on the direction of movement
Walling -Crystallize The act of blocking passage
MS - Movement Speed the speed of which the champion travels
MR - Magic Resist The resistance of the magic damage
MP5 - Mana regen per second, high amounts are a necessity for early game or trigger-happy people
HP - Health Points the survivability without the resistances
MP - Mana Points The catalyst of the Archangel Staff
Pen -
Ar -> The reduction of armor to lessen the amount of damage reduced from physical attacks or even push armor to negative levels increasing the amount inflicted
Mr ->The reduction of magic resist to lessen the amount of damage reduced from magic attacks or even push magic resist to negative levels increasing the amount inflicted
Proc - Activate

Hard AP Anivia is a viable strategy however, the reason of the egg is the 'squishyness' of Anivia and during late game the egg will not save you. This build is based on the ability to use spells frequently and rapidly and maintain
Glacial Storm for long durations

Runes, Masteries, Skills and Base Stats


Standard Runes

- Greater Mark of Insight X9, +8.55 MR Penetration (+0.95 MR Penetration) ->Base Stats for caster. There is no other Mark which is useful being Glyphs give more AP than Marks

- Greater Seals of Replenishment X9, 3.69 Mana Regen/5 Secs (0.41 Mana Regen/5 Secs) -> Ensure the mana bank is slightly more longer lasting without clarity

- Greater Glyphs of Intellect X9, 101.25 Mana (11.25 Mana) -> Ensure that the Mana bank is more durable

- Greater Quintessences of Fortitude X3, 97.2 Health (32.4 Health) -> Guaranteed higher survivability during early game

Basic low tier masteries without summoner spells, HP + MP regeneration and a % reduction of death. Awareness for mid-laning, ExP increase. Expanded Mind and Meditation for increased mana regen and base amount. Quickness and Blink of an Eye are the standard Masteries of that tier. Intelligence also standard for that tier, and the most obvious choice is the Presence of the Master.


,orthe basic viable boots for Anivia, reduction of CC, CDR and MR Pen are the best options. From the2 Catalysts we can choose Rod of Ages-Rod of Ages orRod of Ages-Banshee's Veil. Then to take advantage of the high mana items isbefore afor survival during egg form. The Aura made by thestill occurs during egg form
The Flash Frost, if detonated, will procArchangel's Staff twice. The choice of last item is purely situational and up to opinion. AZhonya's Hourglass orRabadon's Deathcap

Flash Frost - Anivia brings her wings together and summons a sphere of ice that flies towards her opponents, chilling and damaging anyone in its path. When the lance explodes it does moderate damage in a radius, stunning anyone in the area.
A massive chunk of ice flies toward target location, dealing 60/90/120/150/180 (+0.5) magic damage, slowing movement by 20%, and chilling any enemy it passes through. At the end of its range or if Anivia activates the spell again, the missile detonates, doing 60/90/120/150/180 (+0.5) magic damage in a small area and stunning units for 1 second.
80/100/120/140/160 Mana
Crystallize - Anivia condenses the moisture in the air into an impenetrable wall of ice to block the movement of her enemies. The wall only lasts a short duration before it melts.
Anivia summons an impenetrable wall of ice 400/500/600/700/800 units wide, blocking all movement. The wall lasts for 5 seconds before it melts.
70/90/110/130/150 Mana
Frostbite - With a flap of her wings, Anivia blasts a freezing gust of wind at her target, dealing a medium amount of damage. If the target has been slowed by an ice effect, the damage they take is doubled.
Anivia blasts her target with a freezing wind, dealing 55/85/115/145/175 (+0.5) magic damage. If the target has been chilled, they take double damage.
50/60/70/80/90 Mana
Glacial Storm - Anivia summons a driving rain of ice and hail to damage her enemies and slow their advance.
Toggle: Anivia calls forth a driving rain of ice and hail, dealing 80/120/160 (+0.25) magic damage per second, slowing their movement and attack speed by 20% for 2.5 seconds, and chilling them.
50/70/90 Mana Per Second
Rebirth - Upon dying, Anivia will revert into an egg. If the egg can survive for six seconds, she is gloriously reborn.

Take aand 2before taking mid. Always try for mid, only some people will tell you not to (Vladimir orMordekaiser (since buff) and even occasionallyKarthus) however, Anivia is up there in the lists of highly viable mid-laning. In the lane, there isn't much need to start harassing until level 3 or so. Don't throw anywithout slow at 1st. This means the only move that should be used isFlash Frost. There is also no need to wall until you have your ultimateGlacial Storm. The harassing will begin with aFlash Frost and a follow-up ofFrostbite. When you have access to theGlacial Storm andCrystallize , Here is the combo:

1 -Glacial Storm Catching the enemy with the bottom lip

2/4 - If they immediately turn at you and attack, throw aFlash Frost immediately followed with aFrostbite. Rinse and repeat or alternately repeatedly throwFrostbites.

3 - If they immediately or attempt to run, wait till the enemy has almost reached the upper lip of theGlacial Storm till walling the upper lip withCrystallize. Note the side the enemy takes to escape the Wall and throw aFlash Frost followed by aFrostbite. Stun the enemy before they exit the[/img] Glacial Storm

4/2 - Throw aFlash Frost immediately followed with aFrostbite. Rinse and repeat or alternately repeatedly throwFrostbites.

1st time buying, take a pair ofboots and make theMana Crystal into aCatalyst and as muchpots as you can without over-doing it. The Catalyst should improve laning time.

2nd time buying. Make theCatalyst into abut if you can't don't fret. Grab aBlasting Wand and upgrade the boots if there is enough money.

3rd time buying. By now theshould be available (around 20:00), we then grab anotherCatalyst and if you have enough money; aTear of the Goddess. If the boots are not upgraded, do it instead

(If you are fed, instead of aiming for the Archangel's, turn to a secondRod of Ages)

4th time buying. If theTear of the Goddess wasn't obtained last time, grab it now and anotherBlasting Wand. Working towards aArchangel's Staff

5th time back, grab theArchangel's Staff and a mana crystal if possible.

6th time buying, if theCatalyst hasn't been turned into aRod of Ages then alternately make ainstead. If there are already 2Rod of Ages, then turn the mana crystal into aGlacial Shroud

7th time buying, simply aNeedlessly Large Rod

8th time buying, theGlacial Shroud will become aFrozen Heart. In the case of extra money, here take aChain Vest/Blasting Wand or aElixir of Brilliance

Last time buying, take aZhonya's Hourglass orRabadon's Deathcap

Lore for the LoL's

In most lore, the phoenix is a creature of fire that rises from its own ashes. What few know, however, is that phoenixes are elemental beings, formed by the eternal essences of their native world. Anivia was conceived on a world such as this - a being of the coldest winter, a creature of pure elemental ice. On her world, Anivia was the protector of the frozen wastes and all those with the spirit to endure in such unforgiving places. She was consulted as a creature of great wisdom, one who could not die and who had seen the world renewed several times. Somehow, Anivia knew that the day would come when she would be plucked from her home and pulled across worlds, and when that day came, she received the call with grace. Seeing the imbalance and injustice on Runeterra, a world lacking elemental protectors, Anivia took her place at the League of Legends.

Since her arrival, the Cryophoenix has chosen to live among the highest peaks of the Northern Ironspike Mountains, adjacent to the frozen wastes of Freljord. She has openly claimed this territory as her own protectorate. Surprisingly, Anivia has struck up a friendship with the yeti of this region - a friendship that grows deeper and deeper with each passing moon. She has formed a close bond with two League champions: Nunu (and Willump) and the nomad princess Ashe. In a move that caught the League by surprise, the Cryophoenix recently entreated the summoners of the Institute of War to research a means in bringing across others of her elemental fellows. As a champion, Anivia is revered with a sense of awe by most, but is not the most popular as most consider her unapproachable.

Some say the world will end in fire, some in ice. Anivia awaits the inevitable latter.
