Irelia Build Guide by A Chubby Baby

First of all: this is a really nice build! Thanks for the time you invested in it!

But as you are an experienced irelia player, I want to ask something...
(didnt read all the comment pages, hope it wasnt asked before)

What do you think of AP+AD items? Such as the hextech-gunblade, guinsoo's rageblade?

1st, your runes/masteries are fine, although I'd rather go for 9-21-0 since you're wasting the buff duration mastery (probably wasting) and bonus mana pool is quite useless.

I somewhat disagree with the idea of fratmas/atmogs now. It's just not as strong as before. Not saying it's bad, but I've started to seen less and less people buying it.

AS marks/quints as situational runes maybe? I definitely know that some people are using those successfully.

I like your Bladesurge/ Equilibrium Strike explanation. Really good section right there.


Matchups... You see, I'm not an Irelia player at all and although I love her and keep waiting for her to come on sale or freepick, I don't really know much about her.
However, I'll ask my friend who has a ton of experience of playing Irelia at 1300'ish elo and will ask for his opinion. I'll also see if I can reach some other good players to give their insight on this.

@M4lkav - yea, i actually dont like the AD&AP combo items as irelia doesnt need those items and could make use of much better replacements. i will consider adding it into the situational items section though

@albableat - true it isnt so strong, but i havent found an alternative besides the triforce combo. thanks for the extra help on the irelia information thing. ill be very glad to hear his advice. thanks again~

Awesome guied, well detailed, the "vs" is awesome because it explains his opinions, and guess what, 1st time when I tried this guide on Irelia and i made a PENTA.Love you bro.

I like the guide, but I can not stand the 0/21/9 build. Yes I am going to go this far but you SHOULD be building a 1/21/8 build. That extra point in utility is nothing compared to the extra point in Summoner's Wrath. Unless you are jungling with Irelia (go ahead I wont stop you) you don't need extended buffs, you shouldn't even be getting buffs as her anyways! Not trolling, trying to help (i have almost 800 games with her under my belt :P)

Man, this build of yours is so perfect. Same here, I hated Irelia, but I said, lets give it a try, bought her today and I am copletely in love with her. So strong, tanky and CC destroyer...

Your build is totaly perfect, I just had to make some minor changes on items late game...

Btw, here are some other games with Irelia, unfortunately I lost, but everytime I was owning :)
