Irelia, one of the most intriguing Champion many say she is OP others hate her. I took her for a game and since that game she become my main. I have over 200+ matches played with Irelia and found out some Pros and COns about her. Overall she is a neat champ that must be tryed at least once.
-Shines Solo Top
-Propper Build= Tanky and Assassin
-Needs to be tanky.
-Mana Hungry early on
-Susceptible to CC(Attack speed slows)
-Fails at Chasing. Early On
Perfect for a Solo Top. Push the line a little go to well and your back before your line is pushed.
Helps you for positioning escaping dives.
Its a good spell when you are not solo top it has a good synergy with Ghost.
Good spell for some MORE TRUE DMG. I usualy take it when i have a natural healer as Enemy.
Marks : Take Arp marks help you on the entire game. These can be changed with HP or AD runes but ARp works the best.
Seal: Armor helps you the best early on and when Soloing top against 2. Dont forget most of solo Top Champs are AD.
Glyphs: Magic Resist it is a small bonus that carries your MR all game helps you from start to Finish.
Quints: Alacrity yes Attack Speed. Attack speed is a must have on Irelia it helps her so much. I will talk about Attack Speed at Items. These Quints can be Changed With HP quints but Attack speed gives you Surviveability and More dmg.
9/21/0 Tanky Irelia best for Early game soloing and even when u have a lane partner you can soak up some dmg and harras without beeing in great Danger.
Ionian Fervor (Innate): Reduces the duration of stuns, slows, taunts, fears, snares, immobilizes, blinds and silences for each nearby enemy champion.
1 champion: 10%
2 champions: 25%
3 champions: 40%
Radius: 1200 (sight range)
Despite this PAssive Irelia is still susceptile to AS slow cc's. Mercury treads do Stack with this passive.
Bladesurge[Q]:Active): Irelia dashes forward to strike her target, dealing physical damage. This applies on-hit effects. If it kills the target, Bladesurge's cooldown refreshes and refunds 35 mana.
A good close in skill and a great Farming tool. yet early on makes Irelia Very mana Hungry.Max this skill until lvl 13 so u can chase like a GOD.
Hiten Style[W]:(Passive): Irelia's autoattacks restore health to her.
Health Restored: 5 / 7 / 9 / 11 / 13
Hiten Style (Active): Irelia's autoattacks deal additional true damage for 6 seconds. Hiten Style's passive health gain is doubled for the duration.
Cost: 40 mana
Cooldown: 15 seconds
The Reason we love Irelia or Hate her. The 6 seconds of DOOM for enemies :). Basicaly this is Your DPS and this is why Irelia Needs attack speed. Having AS makes your Hiten style Recover More HP in less time and makes your active Hiten to deal More DMG at 1.5 As Hiten deals 675 True DMG if you add your AD and Magic Dmg from Wits end and Ionic Spark you will understand why i call it The 6 seconds of DOOM. Oh Hiten recovers HP if you hit Towers or Inhibs:)
Equilibrium Strike[E]:(Active): Irelia pierces her target, dealing magic damage and slowing the target by 60% for a few seconds. If the target has a higher health % than Irelia, she stuns the target for the duration instead.
Cooldown: 8 seconds
Her E hmm the reason i always play Irelia at lower health than my enemy it is a beautifull skill that helps you alot in Chasing and Escaping.If your having 100% hp and your target 10% hp this skill will stun.
Transcendent Blades[R]:(Active): Irelia summons 4 spirit blades which she can fire individually in a straight line to deal physical damage to enemies they pass through, and she heals for 25% of that damage vs champions and 10% vs minions.
Cost: 100 mana
Not a huge fan of her Ulti. It is quite usefull and very powerfull. This ulti recovers HP based on dmg dealt. NOTE: When 1v1 use ulti to target a Group om Creeps in order to recover HP. The HP recovered is more usefull than the DMG you deal to the Enemy Champ. But if you can position yourself so that you can hit both Champion and minions you will have BT as a skill:P
So i will explain some builds i used in my matches. Irelia has many viable builds she can get tanky and still deal tons of dmg with support items like Shurelya. But Attack Speed makes her a beast. She gains so much out of AS Dmg, Sustainability, i witnessed tanky irelias beeing crushed by Tanky/As Irelia.Not to mention AS Irelia is the TRUE definition of a carry Chopper you can chop them on the lane in the jungle under they're turret with ease.
1St The 6 Seconds of DOOM
Named after her W this build is revolving around getting most out of your W.
This are your trusty shoes beeing them Nike or Puma this will stack with your passive ans with the Juggernaut Mastery a 3 seconds CC will turn into a 1 second CC.
The most important part of Shurelya is The Philosopher Stone taken early it will help your from your (blood Elf problems) thus not beeing so reliable on a mana pot or a blue buff you can farm easliy. In late game shurelya will help you Chasing and Escaping. The bonus health and CDr will help your As Irelia by making her more tanky.
Many dont see the power of this item basically it gives u a HP steroid, Attack Speed and ~100 Magic Dmg on your 4th hit tham means 25 magic dmg per hit.
Dmg and magic Resists you cant say NO really AS = DMG + lifesteal, Magic resists and Some bonus Magic Dmg.
So many in just one this item helps you in many many many ways rasing your Burst Dmg, increasing your Attack Speed and making you tankier and that pesky slow that procs often at 1,8 Attack Speed.
Solo Top Pesky Enemies
In an usual game u might not get Solo top. Try communicating with your team say you shine like Lux's Ulti if solo top.
If you are 1v2 and they are 2 AD's pick up a dorans shield instead of boots and 3 health pots.Let them push and farm near your turret if you are good u will not miss more than 1 creep per wave if you have problems in holding them communicate with your jungler to stick to your top lane.
If you are 2v1 vs AP: i reccomend going null-magic Mantle and pots it will help you creep and not beeing killed by 2 pesky Tons of Dmg dealing CC-ing dudes.
If you 1v2 ad/ap: This is hard go boots 3 pots try to farm 800 gold and buy Philosopher as fast as you can. Stick to your turret.
In the 1v2 cases if they turret dive you remeber your e has Stun use it and you will kill at least one of them.
Now If the Enemy team has a jungler dont be happy its still hard as some of your farm will go into wards. But you will farm easier if you know how to counter your enemy lane partner
And now some usual Dance partners:
Lee Sin: He might dance bad because hes BLIND but he still hits hard(i think he smells your Ionian Eau du toilet) Boots and 3 pots and an Chaotic movement shall help you deal with him dont engage him until you have your Q and E keep on an enemy creep. Ninja Tabi would help you early for the armor bonus and the fact that His Flurry Passive will not deal that much dmg to you.
GankPlank: The drunk sailor is no problem to you if you have 50 armor he might crit and he might have but he is squishier than you.If he ults dont stay in his ult escape using your Q ability so that you dont take additional Dmg.
Yorick: this dead stinky guy is the MOST annoying Salsa partner i had EVER he has an annoying harras he has OP hp regen he's the worst iv ever met. I suggeest going nija tabi/wits end fast maxing first Your W. Always when fighting Yorick position yourself so ur R hits his Ulti too for more Hp regen.
Mordekaiser: The brazilian Champion hes usless early on farm go fast Merc treads and philosopher. Dont let him hit you with Q when you are alone IT HURTS. You might not be able to out farm him but he will be extremely Squishy until taking some tanky items.
Olaf: The techno Viking hes a mean Kill Machine but hes renderd usless if countered by AS slow items like Frozen Hearth or Randuin. Dont let hium take his axes from the ground. His E will hurt so Taking a wriggle will help you farm and will give you bonus armor and lifesteal not to mention some Ad.
Fizz: Something is fishy. He hits hard but he is squishy as hell you can harras him with W-Q-E combo.Go fast merc treads. When you see his ulti going to you doge it with your Q that ulti HURTS.
Darius: Hes not easy, Dont let him stack his Passive on you kite him, juke him trough brushes, ninja tabi and a randuin will help you against him. He will go tanky so dont try to 1v1 him.
if he is at full HP is hes under 75% engage him and start your W-Q harrass. If he drops you under his % HP stun him and reatreat better leave to fight another day.
Malphite: Hes a Rock good luck you have diamond cutter blades, he is a counter to you as he has AS slow in a skill but he will not deal huge Dmg. Go merc treads and farm freely he will harras you but the life per hit in your W should suffice so that you dont get in troubles.
Xin Zhao Didn't had time to lane against him now that he is changed but he still is the Attack Speed Beast randuin will help you deal with he's steroids problem.I heard now he has ARp on his passive so you would better watch out and try to farm silently and calmly until you have a Hearth or Some AS.
Shen Hes a pain in your a**, try to time your W with hes taunt so he will get the true dmg going merc treads help you against his passive. you can Harras him with W-Q-E Combo and its pretty effective if you dont let him attack the creep marked by his Q.
Volibear I suggest if playing draft mode and you will know he will be your enemy lane partner, take ignite if no delay your trinity and take executioners calling. Hes tanky and he hurts but u have the As sustainability so its not that of a huge deal.
FiddleSticks Did i mention you blades cut trees???? No oh.Fiddle is Hard countered by you if you have ignite you own him pretty hard because of your passive he is pretty useless he relies on that Fear. With Merc Treads you wont even see his fear. Dont be greedy don't turret dive him hes still a good dmg dealer. You can use your Q on an enemy creep to avoid his Ult. DONT FIGHT HIM IN HIS ULT.
Tryndamere Easy he has no dmg early on against you so harras him hard dont let him farm and he will be useless. After he hits lvl 6 you will have to kite him.
