I understand what your guide is trying to do, but I really don't think that nunu needs any help in sustainability. Consume and your passive are really all you need to sustain. Normally I make my first trip back to base with over 4000 gold and a couple of kills and WAY over leveled. In ranked games I play almost exclusively solo top Nunu, and I'm pretty sure I've never lost a lane. I go pure AP with my normal item sequence being doran's ring -> sorcerers boots -> rabadon's -> void staff/crystal scepter -> whatever i need after that. If you focus solely on AP, then no one will be able to keep up with your immense damage, and a Nunu with 500+ AP is still very powerful late game. Your build works, I'm sure, but nunu is the greatest solo laner in the game, and you should do more to exploit his massive damage potential throughout the game. I see your point however this build utilizes AP while still being able to fulfill the tank role allowing your jungler to be more attack oriented. Check out my Nunu Guide.IT'S OVER 9000!
