Introduction

Hello guys and welcome to my Jarvan IV guide. Jarvan jungle is often underestimated because he is not played very often and most people play him on the toplane.

Why I like him is because he is a great jungler with a lot of CC, very tanky and its fun to play.

If youre new to this character, I can show you the basics about this character and give you some tips in general.

In this guide, I try to tell you everything about:

-WHAT I buy
-Runes, Masteries
-His abilities
-WHAT Summoner Spells I take and WHY I take them
-Pros / Cons
-WHEN I pick him
-Weak against / Strong against
-My jungle route
-WHAT to do in team fights
-HOW to gank

Masteries

A simply 21/0/9 for masteries is the best I think.

Items

For items start off with a dorans blade (I've already seen some kog's started with boots but buy boots only if you have to escape often). Then its always the same: You farm until you go first time b or die and then you buy normal boots and if youre not so good with last-hitting buy another dorans blade. If youre really getting pushed and cannot farm you gonna buy a third dorans. Now you try to get your first big item which is the most important item for the beginning: Infinity Edge. If you can afford it buy a B.F. Sword. But if you cant cause you havent enough money or what else buy a pickaxe and then your b.f. and your infinity edge. After you did that get some lifesteal with vampiric scepter. Now you have some really cool damage but you want to hit faster so buy your zeal into a phantomdancer. When you did that you have to look what the enemy team is doing and buying. I cant tell you THE perfect way to build kog'maw. If the enemy team have blitzcrank or someone I would buy benchees veil of course so that he cant pull you into the enemy team. You could also buy a frozen mallet if you are too squishy. Anyway there are many different ways to build him this is just an example. So, lets look for the last three items: Buy Last Whisper for armor pentration and if you have it really hard with snares and stuns you could buy Quicksilver Sash which can get you out of snares and stuns. For the last item you could buy if youre doing very well. If you dont buy frozen mallet or black cleaver or even a second phanto dancer. As I already said there isnt a perfect guide so watch out for the enemies and decide what you buy.

Skill Sequence

You always want to maximize your W first cause its a very nice buff and if you use it the enemies will say: Oh, wheres my hp???
E and Q are both nice skills I would say maximize the spell you like more and you use more often.
Your R is one of the best and funniest ultimatives in the game. You dont want to know how often an enemy escaped and thought: Haha, didnt get me ! and I send my ultimate and he was over.

Pros / Cons

Pros:

-Cannot escape him (slow,ulti)
-does one of the most damage in the game
-neednt much farm to be useful
-has a very nice mid and lategame
-not so squishy
-passive is good to kill your enemies even if youre dead

Cons:

-His earlygame is not the best
-has no jump only a slow which means he doesnt have a real chance to escape if you focus him the right way he goes down like a little baby

Team Work

For team work you only have to keep in mind: In teamfights you always stand behind youre tank or someone and you never follow someone alone if youre team is behind you. If you do this and keep it in mind you can rule the games like noone other it does and if someone looks like he escapes get ready for ulti spam :D

Farming

Kog' Maw is and ad carry so it is the best for you to go bot lane with support (sona,janna,soraka,taric for example). Tell your support that you need the farm and if you dont have someone who steals you the creeps you can farm, farm, farm. And if yo think that kills are better than minions I can tell you: When you farm very well as good as you can, you will make kills without you want it ^^
