Introduction
this is my first guide ever, and it will be on Jarvan IV.
I've seen many guides from mobafire, and tried them all out.
And I did not like the outcome at all.
After having practiced with Jarvan for awhile now, I settled with my own build.
Hope you enjoy and please give it a try.
Let me know if there are things to be fixed or how i can improve on my Jarvan Iv build as
well.
Thank you!
First of all,
I usually play DPS champs or Off Tank champions, and with any DPS or offensive champions that use physical attacks, I think ArPen is essential. So i get ArPen Marks.
For seals, I get health/level. This helps me get just a bit more damage from Atma's Impaler.
As for Glyphs, I really like A/S, so i'm currently using attack speed glyphs.
Finally for Quints, i get extra ArPen.

Now, when you see my masteries, you may think, WTF 23 in offense?
and my answer is yes, it is all necessary.
I take 1 point in perseverance(utilities) to give me extra laning power.
6 points in Defense, three in Resistence, three in Hardiness.
Remaining 23 points, I max out cri chance, cri damage, DMG + Magic DMG increased, etc etc.

First of all, i like to start with a doran's blade. I've tried starting with a cloth armor, or long sword, health crystal. But imho, doran's blade is the apt choice for Jarvan. It gives you enough early game damage for FB potentially as well as a bit of life steal and health. Then i get boots + phage. Boots for obvious reasons. Phage, i like the slow and health it gives me.
Before upgrading phage into a frozen mallet, i take atma's impaler, just to increase my dmg output a little bit. As soon as i can start taking some damage while putting out more damage to the other team, i upgrade phage into frozen mallet, and depending on how many kills you've gotten, you'll be able to afford Warmog's armor, or... just a giant belt.
After buying warmog's armor, you should feel pretty comfortable now with your damage and your beefy-ness.
After Warmog's armor, your items from here depend on the other team. You need to build your items according to their champion composition. If you want more dmg, you can get actual dmg items OR health items(remember your Atma's impaler) If thats not the case, you can choose to build your armor/magic resistance.

I put my first point into dragon strike first. Because, it costs less mana than demacian standard,
and lower cooldown. Not only that, it does bit more damage. Whenever i put a point in demacian standard, I was never able to get first blood. With dragon strike, and the help of ur lane partner, first blood seems painless.
You can keep harassing as well with your dragon strike.
I max out dragon strike first then i max out golden aegis, then the standard. The reason why i max golden aegis second is because of its slow and the shield you get from it.
Jarvan's ulti is.....well....if used properly, deadly. if not, then its suicide. So the shield and the slow from golden aegis not only help you get kills, but also help the team get the kills.
