Hello! Welcome to ElderVen's second guide on Mobafire. Lately I've been really into Skarner and Jax, but today we're going to talk about Jax. Jax is a tanky-DPS jungler. We'll be exploring some of the ways to make his ganks effective and successful. I hope you guys enjoy! Don't Downvote me for nothing, leave a comment! I really love Jax, and I hope you will too! :)

Pros

• Quick Burst Damage
• Easy Chasing
• Fights with a Lamp
• High mobility

Cons

• Easy to kill early
• Not super fast clears
• Low DPS early

For Jax, I go with Greater Glyphs of Warding, [icon-Greater Seal of Resilience]Greater Seals of Resilience, and Greater Marks of Insight. I go with Greater Quintessence of DesolationGreater Quints of Desolation to take out any damage mitigation they may have built to stop my epic Empower reign of terror!

I won't go into this too far, but these are basic Jungler Masteries. You gain a minion Thornmail, extend buff durations, and gain the ability to withstand more than anyone without these masteries. Also, movement speed. Yes, movement speed. Lastly, Summoner's Resolve gives you 10 Gold extra, every time you use Smite. On anything. Even if you don't kill it. Yay.

These are an obvious choice for any jungler, as they enable and easy and fast gank, as well as the easy navigation of the jungle for fast movement through camps.

This is a great pick for any AP/AD Hybrid, especially for easy damage output over little time. It makes you crit where you SHOULDN'T be critting. It also applies the Sheen effect, making grabbing your buffs quick and easy!

You may or may not be focused, but you need the ability to get back up and clean up, or stay in if you Initiate, and the enemy doesn't like that. Also, it helps you survive :o (no brainer).

Guinsoo's Rageblade is the ULTIMATE item for Jax. Jax's passive increases his attack speed every time he hits. Guinsoo's does the same, increasing it more, and also adding ability power! After 8 hits in a fight you are UNSTOPPABLE.

Hybrid item; great for Jax. Healing off of Empower is great! I love the damage it adds, and the active is awesome for chasing them down! Good item all around for Jax.

Getting Jax up to 3.4k HP is easy with this awesome tank item. I highly recommend this late game for survivability so you can initiate!

This passive increases your attack speed every hit and scales every level, up to 14% attack speed per hit to 6 stacks. This, combined with Guinsoo's creates an amazing 2.0+ Attack speed by level 18! Love it.

Great chasing tool but never initiate with it. Activate Counter Strike then leap for a stun during ganks!

This is a spammable steroid for Jax's basic attack. I love this ability so much, I'll spam it all day erryday.

Can't be hit by basic attacks and after 2 seconds or when activated again stuns, makes this ability amazingly overpowered.

When you start getting a lot of AP, the passive activates every second, giving you and extra...well, really high amount of damage every third hit. Activing the ultimate increases your survivability rate and you get extra magic resist and armor with your attack power and ability power! How can this NOT be awesome?

No brainer guys! Always grab Smite for easy Junling, unless you really, really don't want this to work out...

Almost always seen on all characters. Great for escaping and catching up!

Another Viable Option

This is basically Shurelya's. Take it for chasing and running also faster jungle clears if need be!

Jax is a super-annoying jungler whose goal is to take you down as quickly and as efficiently as possible. Jax accomplishes this by being untouchable with his stun, his Leap Strike, and his quick burst damage that he obtains after hitting an enemy several times. You should not be the first in the fight; leave that to the true tank. You are to jump in after the fight begins and shut down the carries with your Counter-Strike and maybe even get a Pentakill. This is an amazing character and I hope you enjoy him!
