Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Almost every good player in LoL knows that jax is impossible to solo in a close combat. In this guide I am gonna teach my build for him, tips, and tell you why when you finish your build you'll be able to win 1x2 and eventually even 1x3.
As you get tons of ap, this will get you more life, as you get lich bane, you HAVE MASSIVE DAMAGE (1k+, healing 14% of it straight + your hits and Life steal), and you will stun them. Lich bane makes your physical next hit inflict all your ap and this hit will ALSO heal you.
Just to you get some idea, my last 4 games where playied with jax;
See the scores:
Those were regular games, my best one with him was about 33 / 7.
Ghost its always a good option as you will not have such a great movement speed.
Ignite is good for ganks
Exhaust is good for ganks
Clarity - > Terible choice, a potion can easily suply all the mana you need.
Flash - > not recommended since you can jump into friends to run, and ghost works better for me. Anyway if you are one of this ninjas with flash you can use it, see your results however I prefer ghost.
Game beginning strategy
There's just one thing you must remember when you play jax: He need his items, so in the very beginning of the game you must NOT be super agressive, when your dodge rate Reach 30% (thanks to counter strike), you start to be solid, and when you get your Ultimate Relentless assault you will be able to gank.
USE THE BUSH!
Remember to use the bushs in game, you leap strike can force your enemys to stay away from lane, exp and gold. And leap strike works so well when you are in a bush in jump out of it.
Don't gank all the time in the beginning, remember you are very item deppendent.
If your team has no jungler, take this as advantage and as you clean your lane also clean the jungle as you can, but never forget your lane.
Mid game strategy
When you finish the Needlessly Large Rod, you will REALLY inflict lots of damage. At this point you should be a killer already. Remember that you SHOULD start team fights even when you are not a tank, as more AP you have as more life you do, and also remember that when you dodge the first hit you will be able to stun ALL the players in the other team.
With the hextech items you will become a monster because of this effect ->People Attack you-> You dodge (will heal you)-> You hit them healing you as they are stunned-> Start all over.
Skill usage sequence
Your main item is ninja tab, and also the first skill to be level max should beCounter Strike this will have great sinergy and about 30% dodge rate.
When you enter in fight almost always Charge your leap strike and jump in, as they try to react they will activate yourCounter Strike (stun), if you need at this point use your ultimate, and thats it.
Your second main item is Guinsoo RageBlade because of the synergy with your ult (and also some attack speed when you are super fed is usefull)
Late game / Monster part
Remember of the stacking synergy of your abillities, and your effect "->People Attack you-> You dodge (will heal you)-> You hit them healing you as they are stunned-> Start all over."
This is what make you gank 3 guys, and with 1 team mate help, you be able to kill them 3.
This is why jax is such a bastard in game ^^, your enemies won't be able to hit you, and as you dodge you stun them and your Spell vamp will heal you all the time. When you finish Lich bane you will inflict about 1.5K damage when you use Empower + Leap Strike, making so, you will kill teemo or ash for instance with 1 or 2 hits.
Of course all this happens only if you get lvl fast and get your items, if you wont be able to buy or items you will suck, it for sure.
Pros / Cons
+Good for carrying the whole team
+Very good synergy of abillities
+As more AP as more life, as you have spell vamp you are not so squishy but not tanky
-If you start bad you can really feed with a hard game
- You are more squishy than tank, you need to hit to stay alive, what makes you a very easy to kill if they have some nice CC
ALWAYS be in ganks... As you have multiple stun + massive damage, when you are with your team mates you will be so helpfull, not just by your damage but also by the stun, what makes the whole help, and really SMASH your enemies.
Also if you get late in a teamfight and the target is already low life you are very good to chase them using your charged Leap Strike, and almost sure to kill with one hit,
Remember to use your leap strike even into your team minions to get closer of the target and possibly stun him (if you dodge a minion, you will be able to stun aswel)
(REMEMBER you can use it even in your own minions to run of someone)
