Jax, Grandmaster at Arms
It is seldom the case where a champion is defined by his actions after joining the League of Legends rather than before. Such is the case with Jax, for whom the argument could be made that he is the most prolific tournament fighter currently at the Institute of War. Before joining the League, Jax was an unremarkable soldier-for-hire. For reasons known only to the former leader of the League, High Councilor Reginald Ashram, Jax was put on the top of the list of candidates to receive a League Judgment - the interview process that either accepts or rejects a prospective champion. His Judgment was the quickest in League history, where the Doors of Acceptance glowed and slowly swung open as soon as it began. Jax faced no recorded Observation or Reflection during his Judgment.
Jax proved himself to be an immediate terror in the Fields of Justice. The self-proclaimed ''Armsmaster of the League'' rattled off a streak of consecutive wins that to this day has not been matched. A number of summoners in the League grew concerned that the perceived objectivity of the League of Legends would be questioned by the presence of an unknown fighter who was unbeatable. For this reason, the new leader of the League (following Reginald Ashram's disappearance), High Councilor Heyward Relivash, created special restrictions for Jax to fight under. This was something the League had never done before, and something that has never been done since. The burly fighter responded by imposing his own special conditions; as a means of protest, he permitted himself to fight using only a brass lamppost. Neither the League's sanctions nor his own has affected his winning ways. The League has since rescinded its sanctions, but Jax has not; he fights and fights well with his trusty brass lamppost.
''Be advised - there has been an outbreak of lamppost-shaped bruises in the League of Legends.'' - Gragas
I have recently started playing Jax once again, when the removed dodge and changed his skills i stopped playing him, but i have found that for those of you who like to get down and dirty dealing masses of early and late game damage that Jax is still incredibly OVERPOWERED i shall add photos of my recent games below if i can work out how as i am new to the ways of build creation on Mobafire. Now anyways as i was saying Jax is still very overpowerd, especially in solo top, i find that his short cooldowns and high damage has a great ability to push back almost any champion you may face.
For runes i take
Flat Magic resist glyphs http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/rune/glyph-of-warding-219
Flap Arm pen Marks http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/rune/greater-mark-of-desolation-300
Flat Arm seals http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/rune/greater-seal-of-resilience-262
Flat Arm pen quints http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/rune/greater-quintessence-of-desolation-273
The runes are pretty self explanatory, Arm pen for extra damage, arm and mag resist for higher survive-ability.
Once again pretty self explanatory are the mastery's i take. I go for 24/5/1 mastry's because it gives you a higher damage output, higher survive-ability and reduced cooldowns and damage on your ignite and flash.
i take http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/summoner-spell/flash-14 and http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/summoner-spell/ignite-11 for once again more damage output with more chance of kills early game and ease of escape.
Ignite i find is a great ability as it is great for finishing off those squisy opponents and allowing you to move on to other threats and also for if not killing your opponent when they are low, at least forcing them to retreat and giving you more farming/leveling time.
Flash is one of the summoner spells i use with almost any champ in game it is great for initiation and escape, it also goes hand in hand with Jax's http://edge1.mobafire.com/images/ability/jax-leap-strike.png allowing you an even greater chance of surviving ganks and catching up to aid teammates that are outnumbered.
Now by no means is the order for items i have given is the absolute correct order but i find that http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/item/dorans-blade-24 , http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/item/berserkers-greaves-37 , http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/item/zeal-66 and http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/item/guinsoos-rageblade-88 are an absolute starting must.
http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/item/guinsoos-rageblade-88 synergises incredibly well with Jax's passive http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/ability/relentless-assault-72 for the attack speed increase and also aids in the effectiveness of Jax's ultimate http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/ability/grandmasters-might-76
