Introduction

Welcome to my first guide! :)
I've played Jax for a while now noting what I love about him and what I hate about him. First of all, I love playing Jax. I love how he is able to harass enemies so well and easily in 3v3's. You really should have no trouble harassing them with a jump+empower combo.

Pros
+ Huge damage early game
+ Great survivability
+ Able to escape well with combos such as stunning them jumping to friendly allies
+ Good farming abilities
+ Aoe stuns help well in team fights
+ Underestimated

Cons
- Somewhat Item dependent
- Not as effective in team fights like Xin Zhao, Tryndamere.

As you can see, the pros outweigh the cons by a mile!

Runes

Greater Mark of Insight
Magic penetration helps to add more damage to your abilities, especially with the empower and jump combo.

Greater Seal of Evasion
The evasion increasing your dodge chance will help a lot to active your E ability. This will allow you in team fights to use AoE stuns as well for harassing in lane.

Greater Glyph of Potency
The extra ability power will help you add damage to your attacks allowing you to harass a lot better improving the damage of your skills.

Greater Quintessence of Evasion/Greater Quintessence of Potency
Self explanatory, the evasion will help with dodge, and the potency will help with damage. Really up to you to make the choice.

Masteries + Summoner Spells

21/0/9 or 9/21/0
The 21/0/9 is clearly an offensive build allowing to add extra damage to your attacks. Exhaust and Dash are chosen for this as exhaust allows you to 1 on 1 a champion easily and also prevents them from escaping. Ghost allows you to catch up to enemies as well as run away from them.

Other options can be:
Ignite for exhaust
Flash for ghost

The 9/21/0 is more of a defensive build allowing you to stay alive longer from nukers such as Annie and Ryze. This is why I chose Heal and Ghost for summoner spells, as they help with the initial first blood gank as well as laning.

Other options can be:
Flash for ghost
Cleanse for heal

Items

I start off with Doran's ring as my first item as it gives the extra +100HP as well as mana regen and ability power. This is crucial for the first gank as it improves your survivability and damage dramatically. Other options can be a cloth armor and health potions to obtain Ninja Tabi earlier but I prefer starting with the ring.

The next item I rush is Blasting Wand as it improves ability power. From that, I then am able to solo dragon easily. After that, Guinsoo's Rageblade is pretty easy to obtain as you have the +280g from the dragon.

After the Rageblade I will get the Cutlass for the survivability from that lifesteal as well as the extra attack damage. Another option can be to get Sheen to improve mana and ability power but that is up to you.

After that you will want to get the Hextech Gunblade.

By this time, the game would be close to over, but if it is not, you should purchase a Sheen if you didn't before and then eventually turn it into a Lich Bane. Other options can be the Crystal Scepter and eventually the Deathcap.

The items I choose primarily focus on Ability Power with added Attack damage to help with auto attacks. Please note that you can interpret the item build to suit you better in any way you like.

Skill Sequence

The skill sequence for Jax is really simple.
After choosing Q for your first ability, it will allow you to harass easily.
By level 6, you should have no worries ganking people, start with W, then Q, followed by R, and then E when it becomes available. Repeat this to ensure that your enemy doesn't get away.

Playing Jax

When playing in 3's, get your team to rush to bottom bush to start the first gank, making sure your team is with you. After the first gank head to top lane and wait for the creeps to spawn.

Once the minions have spawned, do not hit the minions. Focus on last hitting them as best you can for the gold, as well as harassing the enemy champion. If you want to play well with Jax you need to understand how flexible he can be. Try harassing by doing the combo W then Q. This will allow your Jump attack to be empowered for extra damage. If you get the attention of creeps and happen to dodge an attack, save the E ability and jump onto your enemy, hit E then run back behind your creeps. Continue this process until you are sure you can achieve a kill.

Once you have reached your Blasting Wand as well as Level 6 you are able to solo dragon easily, in doing so make sure that your team is aware of all other champions as in this position you are prime for a gank. After dragon head back to base or continue laning to the enemy turret, go down to bottom lane and help with team fights if need be.

Once in late game you will want to be as stealthy as you can by hiding in the center brush, waiting to jump on an un-expecting enemy. Focus on the squishy enemies in team fights and bring them down quickly making sure to spam your stun ability. Throughout this you should make sure that you continue farming dragon and taking red buff. Warding the red buff area helps as well.

Summary

That is it!
With this guide you should be able to do well in 3's. Please read the guide before you give it a rating and understand that it's my first :P.

Please note that the defeat was in 5's :P. Also I didn't receive much gold because the enemy team usually surrendered. Lol.

Thanks for reading my guide,
HazeOne.
