Hello, I am bennygump and I will be showing you how I play Jayce in most games. Ranged Jayce is supposed to be a high damage and high attack speed champion that moves fast. Melee Jayce is supposed to be somewhat of a bruiser, he can take damage when needed in a team fight and deal a reasonable amount back especially with to the skies and lighting field. Both choices should be very feared on the battlefield.

PROS

One of the best harassers in the game.
Many AOE damage with melee.
Fast movement speed.
Can switch between melee and ranged.

CONS

Mana hungry if harassing a lot.
Can be killed fast if focused like most ranged.
Somewhat long CD times.

The skill sequence should be pretty straight forward. Shock blast is Jayce's best harassment ability for ranged. Whereas with melee I think his best harassment ability is either lighting field or to the skies due to the area of effect damage.

With ranged I buy runes towards attack damage and attack speed to get that full effect of a ranged AD champion. If you want to you could substitute out any of the runes for an armor rune or MR rune. With melee I strongly recommend you keep the runes where they are at now.

With both builds ignite could be put in, although I strongly recommend you keep flash in just in case you get into a sticky situation and you cannot use your acceleration gate or switch stances for the extra movement speed.
