Introduction
I like to roll with Flash and Ignite. Flash can get you out of really sticky situations and secure you a kill on an enemy with low HP. Ignite makes sure you win most early duels and can also secure kills on low HP enemies. Very useful vs. enemies such as Sion. A seemingly random Ignite can sometimes net you a kill on unsuspecting enemies in the low levels. If you can play very aggressively the first few levels and get your opponent down to about half HP, an Ignite combined with your combo can easily equal a kill.
As for runes, it's pretty straight forward.
Reds: Greater Mark of Attack Damage for some nice early game damage on all of your abilities. Can be replaced with Greater Mark of Desolation if you want to get more out of your late game.
Yellows: Greater Seal of Armor for survivability. I'd recommend these for most AD bruisers.
Blues: My personal preferrence here is Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction. Combined with your masteries, you get about 10% CDR at spawn, which is not too shabby at all. This lets you use your ult more often, which means you can get to lane faster, and just deal more damage in general. If you really want more tankiness, you can use MR runes instead.
Quints: As for these, i find that Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage is the most helpful. AD Marks, Quints and two Doran's Blades really lets you dominate most opponents.

I take Q first for the damage and utility. Then E for the increased damage on his Q and the sick percentage based damage on Thundering Blow. I take one early point in W at level 3, but I max it last, since this ability is most useful lategame. I will not add any extensive ability descriptions here, if you don't know what an ability does, just hover over it's icon above.

Since this is my ultra short guide, I'll try to keep this as short as possible. When itemizing, the three main stats I go for are Physical Damage, Health and Cooldown Reduction. I think this build gives me good numbers on all of those three.
Of course you can modify it to suit your likings, but this is my preferred build. I get boots and pots to start, and then two Doran's Blades and The Brutalizer early for some nice damage and sustain. I then immediately start building a Frozen Mallet and Trinity Force. After that, I get Bloodthirster and finish my Youmuu's Ghostblade for additional damage, CDR and sustain. To top off my build, i get Randuin's Omen, which really allows me to get in my opponent's face without dying. Also, be sure to remember to chug those delicious pots whenever it's suitable.

Oh, I almost forgot this section. If you wanna troll, a good idea would be to instalock Jayce when your team wants you to support and then go camp mid lane. Some good item choices are:
