Introduction


Hello everyone.
Thank you that YOU visit my guide for Jayce, the deffender of tomorrow. At first I say you:
- the guide isn´t perfect
- it could be badly written
- you can get nerfed, seeing everytime Jayce, Jayce and Jayce :D
- the guide isn´t perfect
I took much time in the guide and I would be proud if it gets over 10.000 views. Please rate and comment the guide. Backround

Armed with wit, charm, and his signature transforming hammer, Jayce lives to protect his native Piltover. He rose to prominence as an inventor, one whose magnetic personality and innovative creations brightened the lives of his nation's people. However, his technological marvels also attracted the attention of Piltover's enemies. Viktor, the machine-augmented scientist from Zaun, staged a deadly raid on Jayce's laboratory, barely impeded by the lab's meager security force. Viktor stole designs for an arcane power converter. Jayce feared that Viktor would create weapons of devastating power with the stolen technology. He implored the Piltover government to respond, but the officials were unwilling to support an act of aggression. Refusing to allow his own inventions to threaten the people of Piltover, Jayce decided to strike back against Viktor himself.

Jayce returned to his laboratory and began making preparations for his one-man attack. After an intense period of research, development, and hands-on testing, he emerged. He had created an array of powerful armaments, including his crowning achievement – the versatile, transforming Mercury Hammer. Armed and ready, Jayce began his assault, easily smashing aside Viktor's acolytes as they rushed to stop him. Jayce fought his way into the heart of the lab and confronted Viktor, forcing the Zaunite to flee. After destroying Viktor's prototype weapon, Jayce returned to Piltover where he was hailed as a hero. He reveled in the adoration, but he knew that his actions had provoked the nation's enemies. Now devoted to the defense of his people, Jayce is Piltover's best hope for a bright future.

- Timing his combos could really hard
- He has very low life and mana at the early game.
- The early game is very improtant for Jayce
- Its a hard skillshot with Q + E
- He needs loooooooots of mana and you don´t have so much in the early game
- Dies easy in big Teamfights
- Only 1 Skin
- He has no "real" ultimate which deals tons of damage

What I think about Jayce

Jayce is, although he is a new champ...(and everyone saying new champs are allways OP) HE ISN´T OP. You can´t play just Jayce and hope that hes sooo OP, that his skills will one hit the enemys. Jayce is a extremly high skilled champion and he is ranged and close combat, but if you can´t handle his (really epic) combinations and you can´t deside which is the right moment for close or ranged combat, Jayce is nothing for you.

Why is Jayce not sooooo OP like other new champs?!?!?
The jumping piont is: he isn´t a really close or ranged. He is a little bit of both! He has no "really" ultimate! And he is an AD Carry, but he can´t stand out of Danger always.

Why is Jayce OP?
The only reason, why most of the players, which playing against Jayce, think he´s OP, is that they don´t know how to counter him. Thats all.

How I play Jayce?
I personaly play Jayce as a solo-top, top or bot. But you can him also play as a jungler and a mid-laner. He can make all parts on Summoners Rift, Dominion and all other Maps and Modes. So Jayce is a real multi talent.

Greater Mark of Attack Damage
The early game is really important for Jayce. You are needed to buy expensiv items at the beginnig, like the B. F. Sword or the Recurve Bow. With this Runes you will deal more damage at the beginnig as your enemy.

Greater Seal of Armor
This Char is no OffTank. So you need some more Deff for the early game.

Greater Glyph of Mana
Because he is powered by his combos. You need many many many many mana and with more mana you can make longer combos and needle your enemy :D.

Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed
You buy it because of the same reason as the Greater Mark of Attack Damage. You deal so much more physical damage than your enemys.

Why did I choose this masteries?




Attack Masteries

  • Summoner's Wrath Increases AP and AD while Ignite is cooling down. You get 35% more movement speed while using Ghost
  • Brute Force Increase your AD 3. Thats good for early laning and jungleling.
  • Butcher Increase the AD 2 to minions and monster. Good to last hit them. That sound not soooo much but its useful belive me.
  • Alacrity Increase your AS 4%. Good again for early game.
  • Demolitionist Deal 10 bonus to turrets so you can tank them away easier.
  • Deadliness Increase your AD by 0.5 per level.
  • Weapon Expertise You get 10% Armor Penetration.
  • Lethality Increase your Critical Strike Damage 10%.
  • Sunder You get 6 more Armorpenetration.
  • Executioner You deal 6% more damage to targets with life under 40%. Great for finishing the target easier.

Hextech Capacitor: Passiv
Mercury Hammer: He get bonus movement speed and ignor collisions with enemy minions for a few seconds.
Mercury Cannon:: He get bonus movement speed and ignor collisions with enemy minions for a few seconds.

To The Skies! / Shock Blast: Primary Damage Tool
Mercury Hammer: Jayce jumps and smash his hammer on his target. The target is a little bit slowed and you can beat him up better. This is Jayce hard-gap-closer.
Mercury Cannon:: Fires a massiv ball of energy. This is a skillshot and could be stoped by enemy minions.

Lightning Field / Hyper Charge: Minion Farm Tool
Mercury Hammer: Jayce create a lightning field arround him. It makes damage per secand and its the only attack which is increased by AP.
Mercury Cannon:: He fires 3 Shots in a very short time. At beginning its makes not the full damage but in level 5 it makes bonus damage. The speed is increased by attack speed. When you press it the cooldown begins to runing

Thundering Blow / Acceleration Gate: Smaller/Bigger Gaps
Mercury Hammer: Jayce scutch his hammer on his target and pull him pack in the direction. The target is stuned for 0.5 seconds. You can use this to flee but also to pull your enemy in your own lines.
Mercury Cannon:: Jayce makes a gate which increase the movement of him and his leaguers. When he fires Shock Blast through it speed and damage are increased. The Gate has no active effect for enemys. It is great to flee but also to close gaps.

Mercury Cannon / Mercury Hammer: Transformation
Mercury Hammer: If you transform the cannon to the hammer, the next hit with the hammer will deal bonus magic damage.
Mercury Cannon:: If you Transform the hammer to the cannon, the next hit with the cannon will reduce the armor of the target for 5 seconds.

Alternative Skill Sequences



Sometimes youre needed to farm minions or jungle. Then you should skill like this:

Items

AD CARRY(Use it if your game starts good and you are good with Jayce)



Finished Build must look like this now:


Berserker's Greaves
This boots are not so expensiv like other boots. And they give Jayce one of two things which are important for an AD CARRY: attack speed. The movement speed is increased by 2. So you can easier run away. NEVER buy no shoes!

Infinity Edge
No single item give more AD than the Infinity Edge. The unique passiv increase the critical strike damage 50% (!). It also increase the chance to become a critcal strike chance 25%.

Malady
The increase of 50% AS are important for the game. Its also good if you play again an AP like Veigar or Karthus. The 25 AP is good for Lightning Field.

Madred's Bloodrazor
It gives you all what you need. Armor, AS and AD. The unique passiv is that 4% of your maximum life is added as magic damage by all your normal attacks. That is a incredible bonus.

Warmog's Armor
The best deffense item. You get bonus life regeneration and life per killed minion. All in all you get over 1200 life and 40 health regeneration.

Phantom Dancer
The item which increase the attack speed 55% and also increase movement 12%.

Mercury's Treads
Very good against some AP burst damage dealer because you get 25 magic ressist.

The Bloodthirster
Life steal and AD is some of the most important facts about an OffTank. What schould i say?
AD!!!

Frozen Mallet
The first life item this build. 700 bunus life are very good and the bonus damage is also good. But the damage coming from Phage is only at the early important.

The Black Cleaver
It brings you bonus attack damage and attack speed. The absolutly perfect item for jayce.

Warmog's Armor
The best deffense item. You get bonus life regeneration and life per killed minion. All in all you get over 1200 life and 40 health regeneration.

Phantom Dancer
The item which increase the attack speed 55% and also increase movement 12%.

Summoner Spells

Ignite Imagine: you play again a fast like Master Yi. You fight against him and at the end he run away. BUT you used ignite and pick up the kill.

Flash Nice to make gaps smaller or bigger. So you can easily flee if youre slowed and the whole enemy team is behind you.

Exhaust Same like Flash. You can use it if the enemy attacks youre turret and slow him if there not so much minions of his team.

Teleport Its a great spell. Sometimes the enemys dont register while attacking a turret. So you can say its a nice way to shock your enemy. You can teleport to someone to help to. Works on turrets and minions.

Smite Great spell if youre going to jungle. Don´t waste it on minions. Good for dragon, baron and buffs.

Heal Great everytime. Best healing tool ingame. Refresh inmediatly life. No potion or skill is better or faster.

Anti-Recommended Spells

Clarity Only useful for early game. You have enough mana later. And you dont get so much mana.

Cleanse You dont need it if you have flash. And you will die or miss the using off the spell normaly.

Clairvoyance You can buy wards? Why waste a summoner spell place for this?

Imagine you start in the blue team. The blue zone is for jungeling. The purple zone is for counter jungeling.

At first you skill your W. Than you need some help for the blue buff. Ask in the team. Someone will help you. Than go to the wolves. You must can beat them alone, if not ask for help. Now you must be level 2. Skill Q and go to the ghosts. Attack them with Q than with W. Don´t forget to switch your weapon or you f...finished by the monsters. Start with the cannon, use all cannon skills and switch to the hammer. Use all skills again and the monsters must be finished. Go to the red buff and than finally to the golems. Start again. When you reached level 9-10 go with the bot laners to the dragon, if there lane is clear. Watch for Counter Jungling. Place some wards.
