Amumu Build Guide by H4rm0nY

Not Updated For Current Season
So, this is my guide on how to jungle with Amumu, I use it on my Ranked games(1300~1600), and I must say, I usually do well, and by well, I obviously mean that I win.
Don't know if you guys will think that it is similar to some other guide out there, but I made these builds and this through my own experiments with the mummy and if anything here was copied from other guides, the due rights will be attributed.
These are my ranked stats as seen in Lolking, in season2, with amumu. Why didn't I put my season 3 stats here? simply, because I played only a few games with mumu in season 3 yet, so it's not any proof of whatever.
Okay so, this is probably the part of my build that might seem the weirdest, and that may leave a few of you wondering "why??"..
Well, your problem, because I don't fell like explaining it!
Nah, just kidding, ofcourse I will.
Quintessences: 2x Potency and 1x Fortitude.
1x fortitude because mumu is a natural tank and already has nice stats to survive jungling and ganking, and you will be getting items that give you a nice HP boost already, so, 1 is enough.
2x Potency. Well, I think everyone knows mumu's abilities have quite a big AP ratio scaling, so this will increase your ganking success. In early game, a Bandage Toss right to the face is already something your enemies won't be wanting.
Besides, i don't like having Movement speed quints like some people do, and since mumu has such a long rage stun, I don't think he needs it. Hence the Potency quints.
9x insight. Well, basically it's for the same reason as the Potency quints, so, nothing to add here.
Do I really need to explain this? almost every jungler's seals, help with you sustaining the damage you'll get while jungling, help you tanking when ganking (:D)
Read seals -.-
Masteries (Season 3)
Okay, so, I have added the season 3 masteries already, but I this might be subject to some changes in the future. For now I have been using these ones, but I have others in mind, which might even consist of having more than 21 on the Defense Build. Stay tuned :p
Not much of a surprise here i think.
You see, in most games, as long as you have your Sunfire Cape, Abyssal Scepter and Guardian Angel, you will be one annoying and almost-indestructible mummy. You can throw your Bandage Toss and engage 1v5 at the enemy team, that you will be tanking them for a while, and before they kill you, you would probably be able to bring down their carry before your team even joins the fight, if you did everything right.
vs AP Build: Banshee's Veil and Force of Nature: negate CC and moar m.res. Bring it ******s
vs AD Build: Thornmail and Frozen Heart: Watch as they almost kill themselves attacking you.
Buy Regrowth Pendant and 1 Health Potion, start with Despair, go to blue golem. Ask for a leash on it, just so it's faster and you lose less HP.
You're lvl 2, good, time to get your Tantrum. Now, kill those ugly wolves, then the wraiths, then the Golems. Drink the potion
Now, you're lvl 3. I prefer to get another point in Tantrum, but, if you want to start ganking right away, put it on Bandage Toss immediately. I choose to get it on tanturm and only get the stun at lvl 4, so when I gank, I have more dmg outuput with lvl 2 Tantrum and there's a bigger chance of being successfull.
Moving on. if you followed my skill sequence, now you get the Red and do the Wraiths to get lvl 4 and that sweet Bandage Toss. It's time to gank. I usually head straight to mid lane since I am close, or go Base and gank one of the other lanes.
From here on, Jungling is all the same, just repeat what you did untill now.
You got your Sunfire Cape yet? no? go get it. NOW!
...Done? good. Now try to bring up some team-fights. You're amumu, nothing scares you. You got a clear shot with Bandage Toss at their carry? DO IT! don't even think twice. Q+W+R. If your team helped you, congrats, you just won a team-fight.
If you don't have a clear shot at their carry, do some "calculations". For example, if you can't Q at their carry, but you can do it to their tank, which is close to the carry, then just do it anyway! It just means you will catch the carry anyway with that sweet, sweeeeeeeet Curse of the Sad Mummy.
That's all you have to do. Just don't forget to ping your team, so they know what you are going for.
When defending instead of engaging, always have only one thing in mind: PROTECT YOUR CARRIES!
If you see a fat-as* Volibear going after your Graves, stun the s**t out of that bear, use R if you need to, but don't let them get your carries! They will lose Hp, your carries will be safe, and you will slowly be making the enemy team retreat. Mission Accomplished
Good Teammates, Hated opponents
Just a quick list of the champions you will like to have on your team, and the champions you won't want to be facing on the other side
- Kennen - Really, do I need to say anything at all here? You go in with a stun, then activate a snare on the whole enemy team. in comes the ninja, with a great AOE dmg+stun. just perfect.
- Morgana - Almost the same as kennen. Her ult+Your ult = Bye Bye enemy team
- Brand - Brand's thought when you land your ult "Oh you got 5 enemies snared in place? Here, have a giant f***ing fireball smacking their face while you're at it"
- Fiddlesticks - :crow crow crow crow:
- Katarina - :spin spin spin spin:
- Basically anyone who has a short/medium range AOE ulti
also, guys like Warwick or Malzahar are really helpfull to make your job of getting the enemy team's carry much easier.
- Alistar - This damned cow will Headbutt you away the second you manage to Q their carry or approach them for the R. A real pain in the as*, to say the least.
- Warwick - He WILL get Madred's Bloodrazor and he WILL be a nightmare for you.
Well, that's all folks. It's not a very in-depth guide, just the basics to help you being successfull when playing the mummy from the jungling.
Hope you liked it, and hope you have fun making your enemies cry.
Feel free to leave any comments, even if it's a critic.
Over and out.
[Edit] Build 4 has been added, which representes the Usual full build to make vs a Balanced team. It was quite a fail by my part to have forgotten this. Corrected
