Good guide, though I'm not entirely sure of some of the items. Though your purchase of Tri-force is justified, It doesn't mesh as well with Cho'gath as with other champions. And leave Shurelya's Reverie to the support. I think a Rod of Ages would be better for him since he's usually at the front of the battle and could use all the tanky-ness at his disposal. But that's just my opinion, still a really good guide

Great guide. Just went 3/0/7 in a game where we forced a surrender at the 20 minute mark. It's so cute when people start focusing Cho when he has all 6 stacks :3

Your guide is awesome. It has really helped me out. I'm only level 16 so I'm by no means a veteran but I'm wondering if there was a possibility to add Aegis in somewhere. The aura is good and late game, since you'll be around your team a lot, it'll make a big difference I think. Any suggestions would be great as to when I would add than it during the game. Thanks

damnit i love this build. This was my first try on this build in a normal game. I have about 700 wins so the people i was playing against had about that amount too.

must say i love it, allthough i changed the reverie to a FoN.

I personally don't like the Tri Force on Cho'Gath however, it's too expensive. I can see it's uses and utility however. Jungler usually have to survive on little gold :P
Also, what's your opinion on AP jungle Cho'Gath? Since he has great CC/burst he makes for a great offtank AP carry, and items like Abyssal Scepter is helpful for the team and gives him nice stats.
As for any worries you have about your masteries, I jungle about 80% of my matches, and 9/12/9 is my usual set up. I find it to be better than any 21/9 set up as I hvae more stats. If you watch StoneWall008, you'll find that he favours 9/12/9 on some champs as well.

I know a lot of people are looking at the trinity force and going, "Huh? Isn't that expensive? Isn't it kind of late for that?"

The thing is, the way this build is set up, you're not working your way TOWARDS a trinity force. You're just taking advantage of where you're at in the game. Cho'Gath is one of the best farmers in this entire game, and unlike most champions, that carries over to after laning ends. Once you leave the jungle, you no longer have to worry about having low creep due to being the jungler. In between objective captures (dragon, turrets, baron), you're farming. Before and after team fights, you're farming. While the enemy team or your team is stalling out time, you're farming. Cho'Gath has the ability to rake in so much gold by the end of a game (especially with your two GP 10's) that I frequently end up at full build, whether or not the game is really long. So yes, trinity force is an expensive item, but because you really don't need it, and it just amplifies your ferocity in late game, it's very easily obtainable and quite a good investment.

As for AP Jungle Cho'Gath, I'm not a huge fan. But that's not to say it's not good. Jungle Cho'Gath is extremely good at being a sustainable damage dealer and a tank. In my opinion, when you switch yourself over to AP, you are sacrificing a lot of your dependable "be in the fight forever" damage and relying on bursting down people quickly. So in some cases, like a "Protect the Kog'Maw" match up, that's what your team will need. However, in most cases, you don't need to just burst burst burst as Cho'Gath, so I like to stick to a much more consistent play style.

Any build that doesn't have 21 in any mastery tree always makes me nervous, but I'll give this one a shot. I've been surprised by mastery builds before.

My other reservation is the trinity force. It makes this a really expensive build, and I don't think I've ever seen one built so late. It's got so many parts that it's real rough to build one after you've already got so many other items. You're stuck waiting to almost full-build the thing because of the GP10s and other items. It ties up inventory space from wards too. Has your experience been different from my theorycraft? Assuming you've managed to get that far into the build; it's pricey, so I wouldn't be surprised if most games end before that point.

(hopefully it doesn't sound like I'm dumping on your build. I actually like most of it a lot and I love Cho, so I'm going to give him a go in the jungle)

I've tried it sometimes and I have to say, it is amazing how people understimate cho's E damage and ult. This build is really amazing and you got my +1

I would recommend some items tough, depending on enemy composition and how well are you doing, such as malady instead of wit's end and nashor tooth.
