As you click on this guide, you may be thinking; "Why Jungle Leona? Isn't she a support? Are you insane?" That's what my friends asked me when I started to play jungle leona in ranked. I based the guide on how I build Rammus, a tanky CC based jungler. Though some people may have their doubts, I assure you that Jungle Leona is one of the best junglers in the game.

I take flash because of it's unlimited potential and also may secure a gank if you miss your E.
I take smite because it not only helps you clear the jungle faster, but helps secure objectives like dragon and barron.

The Basics [You can skip this if you have any experience with jungling before]:

To summarize:

Attack the biggest monster first, then the small ones.
Smite to finish it off.
Use abilities.



Leona Specific Jungling:
Use your Q to stun the biggest monster first, not the smaller ones. It also resets your auto attack, so use it right after your have auto attacked.
Use your W to soak up hits and apply area of affect damage. It is especially effective against the wraiths.
Use your E to finish off / tick down monsters. It is more of a ganking tool, but can still be used to finish off a monster. When using it against wraiths, aim for the small ones to damage the most monsters.

If you're leashing a buff to your mid laner, always remember to use your passive. Use an ability, let it prock, then use another ability. Remember that your W takes three seconds to burst and apply the passive.

When ganking, lead in with your E and immediately lock them down with your Q. Then use your W because if they start attacking you, you will be able to soak up the damage or if they start running away, you will be able to apply the damage from the shield bursting.

In general, if you can foresee an enemy knockback, use your e right as you are knocked back. If you miss your E, you may still be able to catch up to them with mobility boots or by using your ult or flash.

Leona is a very tanky jungler with lots of CC, which allows her to dive turrets better than other junglers. Lead in with E, stun with Q, and W to soak up turret damage. This should buy your team enough time to finish off your opponents. Once you unload your combo, walk away to just inside turret range so you can still take hits for your teammates but still get out alive.

The great thing about Leona is she has a not only the ability to lock down a single target, but a group of targets too. To initiate a teamfight, either E Q a overextended adc, or look for a chance to ult the enemy team. Always be the first one to lead in so you can take the turret hits. Chances are at this point you are tanky enough to soak for your team. If not, ult and let someone else aggro the turret.
