I personally agree that it is better to take smite instead of exhuast, and I find it unnecessary to go defensively spec'd. I go 21-0-9, and find have no problem jungling (w/ smite). I also build wriggle's first. You shouldnt have a problem ganking without exhaust if you have red, axe throw, and ghost.

Thanks :D, yeah, smite does help alot. Usually we gank there jungler, either gimping it, or leaving it in the dust, even if we get counter ganked, as long as we get the blue its alright, and some times people don't even have junglers. I take smite on Udyr and WW, but on olaf, I really don't find it all that usefull untill after level 5.

While I can see the merits of running no Smite on Olaf (Exhaust and Ghost are both great on him), I personally find the upside of using it to far outweigh the cons.

Think about this - Smite lets you jungle much faster since you take Golem extremely quickly, and Lizard for that matter. It lets you reliably kill Dragon and Baron every time, but more importantly, it prevents the enemy from stealing these buffs. Smite lets you reliably counter-jungle, stealing enemy buffs, and gimping the enemy jungler at the same time - while also preventing yourself from being counter-jungled as effectively.

To be honest, I wouldn't use any jungler without Smite, even if you gain the bonus of using two summoner spells. But for a smite-less jungle Olaf, this is a great build with a lot of thought put into it, so I gave this a +1 regardless.

Learn to read. I explained this in the first half of my write up. You 2 have usefull SS the whole game, securing more kills. You gain EXP faster than those who take golem first, you'll never die. You can't get ganked when you start. I realise the vast majority of people on this site aren't even level 20 yet, or are just bad.(92% ashe guide with no IE in the items list proves my point.) But I had high hopes that some of you could read.

L2 Not be Stupid. Read it next time, or get out.
