Welcome to my guide on jungle Gnar! This build is still a WIP but will be complete very soon. Jungle Gnar has great ganks mid/late game. Feel free to leave some feedback on this build!

Gnar jungle has been a very interesting experience for me. He felt very weird to play t first, but slowly got easier. There is a very clear learning curve for Gnar jungle because you have to learn two different play styles. If you love to spam abilities when you jungle this is the perfect champion. He is very fast because he has no mana and low cooldowns. If you have a hard time of taking advantage of transformations Gnar will be a very difficult champion. If you are an experienced jungle like me you should have no problem using Gnar.

Runes are not very specific when it comes to junglers. The runes I have chose above are designed for junglers who prefer Mini Gnar. If you prefer Mega Gnar I would try a more tanky rune build. If you do plan to change the runes I reccomend you only change the Quintessences and Marks. Curretly Gnar in either form needs the extra defense. I haven't purchased may runes for Gnar, but I do plan to see how life steal works.

START
This is a very common jungler start.

FIRST BACK
Unless you died you should be able to easily get these 2 items. The Boots of Speed will help get around the jungle faster and the Madred's Razors will help deal more damage.

CORE ITEMS
If you want to deal more damage earlier consider purchasing Ghostblade after Trinity Force. Ghostblade can save you when you are being chased and will help with critical strikes. On the other hand, Trinity Force is very expensive but is more well rounded on what it gives you.

CHOSE ONE
These are your 4 main defensive items, but you can only chose one. You should make this purchase decision depending on the enemy teams champions/builds.

Banshee's Veil
If the enemy team is building AP damage and you need some extra health regeneration.

Randuin's Omen
If the enemy team is building heavy AD damage and you need more armor/health.

Warmog's Armor
If you are taking a lot of damage and need extra health.

Spirit Visage
If you have an enemy team of 1/2 AP and 1/2 AD but you don't take many hits.

LATE GAME
Make sure you purchase this. Extra life steal and damage. If you bought B.F. Sword get Bloodthirster instead of BORK.

OTHER BOOT CHOICES
Mercury Treads will help you if you need some extra magic resist. If you don't buy Mercury Treads just stick with Ninja Tabi.

TRINKETS
Only sell Stealth Token if your team has a lot of vision of the map or the enemy team has a lot of vision over the map.

EXAMPLE BUILD
This is my most common build when I play Gnar jungle.

Feel fell to max yourHop/Crunch [E] second instead of your Hyper/Wallop [W]. If you use the Hop as Mini Gnar very effectively I would encourage to max out Hop/Crunch [E] second.

EARLY GAME
You can either ask for a leash at blue buff or head straight for wolves. I reccomend getting a heavy leash at blue buff if you can. If you don't have access to a good leash start attacking wolves. Fill up your rage bar at wolves and then make your way to blue buff as Mega Gnar. Focus on getting Feral Flare stacks early game. Do not worry about ganks early game unless it is an emergency. Once you get most of the core items you will become a very fast jungler.
MID GAME
Expect to have 30 Wrigglers Lantern stacks at around 18 minutes. The latest you should have 30 Wrigglers Lantern stacks is about 25 minutes. Gnar should be constantly ganking and getting Feral Flare stacks. You want to have all of your core items by this time. Gnar is at his strongest mid game so take advantage of it. Don't try engaging in solo fights at this point of time.
LATE GAME
Continue working on your build and getting more Feral Flare stacks. Gnar can easily take down champs by him self at this point. Gnar is still very effective during the late game.
FARMING AS MINI GNAR
Stay as far away as possible when jungling. You want to stay in range but still deal damage. Make sure you spam his boomerang when he is Mini Gnar. Also take advantage of his Hop when you have an unexpected visitor in your jungle.

High mobility as Mini Gnar
High defense as Mega Gnar

Cons:
Slow early game
Poor early game ganks
Very squishy early game
Slow as Mega Gnar
Squishy as Mini Gnar

Gnar is fairly new and so there aren't many counters. I've been playing Gnar jungle for a few matches now and have noticed some counters. Feel free to leave some more in the comments!
