I chose the runes i did because starting out with straight AP will give you a definite head start, and here is where everyone else says to get AP per a level. They say you will end up with more AP (Blah, Blah, Blah) BUT WAIT. If you go with my build, the chances that you will level to 18 decrease because of who you lane with and how much damage you do.
Now im sure you can all understand why i chose what i did in the two mastery trees i chose. ONE: Because the first one gives you more AP at the beginning (Refer to Runes) TWO: Because Kassadin needs a lot of mana to Succeed in the beginning also. He runs out of Mana fairly fast when Harassing with your Silence.
I chose the items i did because of how they benefit Kassadin the most to taking out your enemies swiftly to secure a win.
Sorcerer's Boots - Spell Penetration +20 and the movement speed that is needed early game.
Will Of The Ancients - Here is where i differ from other builds. This will give you 25% spell-vamp which will help a LOT for those strategic aggressive players, and allow defensive ones to stay in lane longer.
Archangel's Staff - Gives Mana (+4 Mana per an ability used) and 3% of total mana in ability power
Rabadon's Deathcap - Gives 140 AP plus 30% more after adding the 140 ability power (Your AP is stacking up by now)
Morello's Evil Tome - The reason i picked this is because it gives you CDR which is EXTREMELY useful on Kassadin. Also gives more ability power and more mana regeneration.
(This part dependent on how you like to play / who your up against. If you aren't up against any Magic Resistance then go for another Rabadon's BEFORE they realize their mistake. If you are, then go for a Void Staff for your sixth item.
Now, the skill sequence i chose is VERY important for this Kassadin build. His third spell will rip them apart IF you are playing with and against other spell casters in your lane. (Read Kassadin's 3rd ability) You will understand COMPLETELY after trying this with an Ahri or any Mage that can pump out spells fast.
The two summoner spells i chose were for the reasons i have already stated in that Kassadin needs Mana early game, but the second spell, Exhaust, was not explained. See, i use exhaust because your fast as Kassadin but not fast enough sometimes, and your Ult isn't always enough to pull you through, so sometimes to catch a kill or slow a chaser down so you can get away, i put exhaust in this build.
Kassadin will work AMAZING with other spell casters. If you read the other chapters, you would see that i refer to his third spell a lot for damage. That is because it will be your most helpful spell in dealing damage. See, his third spell only is usable after SIX spells have been used around Kassadin, which is why i said he would be great to work with another Mage, like Ahri, or Karthus. (If you like playing Karthus 3v3 which is possible BTW)
Pros and Cons
- Deal burst damage like you rarely see.
- Can stay in lane for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time if played smartly.
- (This one is for all you people who hate speific people) Can rip people apart such as
WW and Annie (NO MOAR TIBBERZ!)
- Is somewhat squishy.
- If not laning with spell caster, it can be harder to do lots of damage.
- Can be good if followed correctly.
