Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is HanSoloQ, and this is my "Reworked Kassadin" Guide. I put a lot of effort into this guide, and I would appreciate any and all feedback that you guys may provide. As you know, reworked Kassadin, no longer has silence on his Q. The Nerf Hammer struck him pretty hard. Riot added magic damage shield to compensate for this. W has been buffed and it's now his farming tool. E is only good for AOE slow at the moment. His R should only be used for disengaging and closing the gap because it deals no dmg at all now. However, even though Kassadin was nerfed pretty hard, he is still the best anti-mage ap carry.

Cons

- AD champs counters him
- Ulty useless after few stacks
- Higher skill cap after "rework"
- Very hard early game

Summoner Spells


Flash Is a great Get Out of Jail Free card pre LvL 6. Must have on Kassadin

This is for extra damage so that they dont run away with 100hp. (If they have Dr. Mundo you use it on Dr. Mundo.

Only viable against AD burst champs like Talon, Zed and even Pantheon

Double-Edged Sword - You deal 2% more damage and take 1% more damage.
Sorcery - CDR,5% good for Kassadin cause his build doesnt have many CDR items. I take this even for ADC cause 5% AS is worthless.
Mental Force - Almost useless,but you have to take it to get next mastery.
Arcane Mastery - 6AP at start of game is great for Kassadin. Gives you more damage on all abilities. Easier to last hit with Nether Blades passive.
Executioner - You want them to escape with 8HP? Nope.
Archmage - Useless in early game, great in late game. For 500AP you get extra 25AP.
Dangerous Game - Great in some situations. Example: You make double+ kills and survive with few HP,its probably cause of this mastery.
Devastating Strikes - More penetration = More damage. Helps with last hiting cause you deal magic and physical damage with AA.
Arcane Blade - This was great when Kassadin gained Attack speed from passive. With 500AP that is 25 extra magic damage with AA.
Havoc - 3% looks like nothing. Imagine if enemy Lux went away from you with 20HP and 100-0 just cause you did not take this. But well,she can still do that.
Block - To survive in lane till middle game. You are probably going versus ranged enemy and they will TRY to AA while you last hit creeps.
Recovery - Sustain in lane.
Unyielding - To survive in lane till middle game. Good versus melee and ranged.
Veteran Scars - Great at Lvl 1-5.
Juggernaut - Synergy with Rod of Ages. At 2000HP you get extra 60HP and at 3000HP you get extra 90HP.

Greater Mark of Magic Penetration- Great for Kassadin cause he deals magic damage with all four abilities.
Greater Seal of Armor - It gives you decent armor against AA and ganks.
Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist - 6x of this to reduce magic dmg in late game
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist- 3x to reduce early presure from enemy mid
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power- Huge bost to early dmg. This is realy must HAVE.

Skill Sequence

You will want to max Null Sphere for dmg and shield against magic dmg. You will NOT play Kassadin against physical damage champions. IF you take Kassadin against any AD champion,your passive and half of Null Sphere is useless.
After Null Sphere you will want to max Nether Blade for more burst dmg cause they nerfed Force Pulse in base damage so its okaish with lots of AP. It has nice passive that will help you alot with last hiting. Now after rework i can even farm with Kassadin.
Last one you max is Force Pulse and you need only rank 1 for slow so that you can land Nether Blade. If you are getting deleted in game like 100-0 without problem max Force Pulse instead of Nether Blade

Items

Doran's Ring + 2x Health Potions are the standard opening items on APCs as they give you a AP,HP,,sustain and 300 effective health. Before 4.4 patch I started with Faerie Charm 5x Health Potion 3x Mana Potion As the Kassadin, you're going to want to spam abilities and not to oom. Tear of the Goddess with 2x Doran's Ring gives you great mana sustain. You have to take this early or not at all. Gives you HP,mana and AP. Everything Kassadin needs. It will stack after 10min.

- Straight foward item. More MR penetration = more DMG on all spells.
- It pays off when you stack it. It gives you HP,mana and AP. +80AP, +630 HP, +650 mana.
- This is a must have for Kassadin at this momment. With 3000 mana you get extra 90AP. Thats 150AP just from this item.
- If you have, lets say, 400AP. This item will give you 120AP on top of that. Must have on every APC.
- You buy this if you are facing AD mid or AD oriented team.
- You can buy this at late game and sell it after you use it and buy other deffensive item.
- You can buy this instead of Lich Bane. Kassadin have one of highest base damage in game so you get alot of dmg on AA after spell. Its only viable versus heavy AD oriented team.
- Only if they are stackin MR.
- Must have agains Le Blanc and other AP burst champs.
- You will buy this every time when you can get into AA range.
- Buy this only if you deal low damage or they are buying MR.
- If you are oom most of times.. buy this.
- This will make you tanky and a CC nightmare for enemy team.
- Only viable if you can AA alot. With passive Nether Blade you deal tons of damage.

Early Game

At Lvl 1 you just have to get LvL 2 before enemy. While farming with Nether Blade and AA you try to land Null Sphere on enemy everytime. If you get into melee range you need to use Nether Blade on enemy but Null Sphere first for shield. And you just do that till LvL 6. After that you can go into face and make R Q E W combo and back. Do it one more time and they are probably dead. Sometimes is hard to land Nether Blade. Thats why you have 30% slow from Force Pulse.

Middle Game

Till now you at least have 2x Doran's Ring, Boots of Speed and Tear of the Goddess. Now you will have to start roaming. I prefer to gank bot cause we can take Dragon then if we make double or even one kill. After 2x Doran's Ring, Sorcerer's Shoes and Tear of the Goddess you rush Rod of Ages no matter what. Never forget that you have to farm creeps. NEVER. Now you upgrade Tear of the Goddess into Archangel's Staff and start Rabadon's Deathcap.

Late Game

In late game you just need to gank enemys and roam. Gank and roam. If you get ace you have to push mid and try to get inhibitor. After that you can try Nashor if you think you can do it. When you kill Nashor, recall and just push and poke. If you are far behind try to farm creeps in any lane that pushed into you.

Team Fights

Its easy to tell what to do in team fights but hard to do it well. You will want to kill ADC/APC,in other words, you want to kill the one that deals most dmg. If you do it and survive,AWESOME. You can focus then on other targets. Just leave tank/support for last kills.
