Nice build! +1! I tried it several times now (and 80% of the time there was someone leaving) and I always had a positive K/D ratio :)

But I have one question... Would this build be viable for a normal 3v3/5v5?

Greetings,
Darkness4910

Sorry I didn't get back to you, I got wrapped up in some things. It can, but it's decently hard to use, and you must go top. The other downside is that that early game weakness can really hurt you on SR since you don't level nearly as fast. On SR I would get a RoA instead of Odyn's Veil, also, you could get a Maw of Malmortimus vs a slightly heavier AP team.

Not going to vote, but just so you know, the damage you are projecting is far off of what actually happens, here are a few things to note.
  1. With Void Stone, getting to 2.5 attacks per second is plausible, but the amount of magic damage alone you will need to take in order to get there with no other attack speed items roughly equates to you being a puddle of mush on the ground, so your dps drops alot.
  2. Armor and magic resist have a lot more effect than you give them credit for. Just 50 armor (everyone gets above this by around lvl 12-13ish without items) will reduce incoming physical damage by 33%. everyone has a base of at least 30 MR, and that is 23%. So you need to crunch your numbers again so this doesn't sound like a heavy dps build, which it isn't.
  3. the tooltips on this site are incorrect for Void Stone and Nether Blade. the actual numbers (as per the recent riven patch) are 15% and 30/45/60/75/90

Untrue. If my math is right, and I'm pretty good at mathing.. you only need to take 1,526 damage. 15% of that is reduced by your passive, so its now only 1,297 damage. This applies after magic resist, so you still have to actually take 1,297 damage, which is a lot, but not more than you can handle with all of your spellvamp and lifesteal. I did the math from level 18 base attackspeed so at lower levels it will take a little more damage. I believe after LB nuked me I was already at 2.5..

Anyway, I tried the build out and was pleasantly surprised. It works too well. I was able to take on a Leblanc, and a Viktor and kill them as well as take an eve down to half hp because of the 2.5 attackspeed. Amazed at the effort you put into the matchups. +100 if I could, but +1 instead. Great guide

I've been playing pure AP Kass for a few weeks now, trying to get that super nuke kind of power.. I just couldn't get any consistency with him though. I'd either dominate or never get rolling. I tried your build due to the fact that you seem to know what you're talking about.. Needless to say I went 14-3 and the other team was RAGING at me.

I think the defensive masteries and the prospectors ring made a big difference for me. I was building him so burst that I had no sustainability. As pure ap my team would often get frustrated that I had to kite so much waiting for my abilities to come off cooldown. I still kite a little with this build, but I'm not afraid to take a few shots.

I'm a bit leary of the hextech gunblade, as I don't have a ton of experience with it. I guess with the sheen + lifesteal plus spell vamp it adds more durability though.

I have been on mobafire over a year, and made an account just to +1 this build. Thank you for taking the time to break down the champion matchups.. very helpful as well.

I have a tested using rageblade a few times, it can be good late, but early you're mainly AP, and late game you have enough tankyness to sustain the damage needed for 2.5as. Loving the responses, thanks guys, keep them coming. Nightstyle, I had some recorded data, but my HDD went belly up =/ and I'm playing on a secondary computer right now, that isn't the best for recording *Laptop*. I was going to have 3 videos, one of me just using the guide, one of giving pointers on how to use the little tricks on him with this guide. And one of a more in depth guide on going VS the top used champions on Dominion, and the best routes for capping points with the CD on Riftwalk.

A very nice and detailed guide. Well done!
I must say, at first, I was slightly skeptical, but after trying it out, I must admit it was a very nice build.
However, have you ever considered adding a guinsoos rageblade somewhere in the build? The attack speed might feel a bit redundant at times (especially if you claim you can get to 2.5s without any added attack speed, iirc you saying so). But I feel it's atleast a candidate worth considering. I tried it in one game only so far, but I got 19/9/4 or something along the same lines. Arguably, I got the rageblade fairly late and thusly could not properly test it. But your thoughts on it would still be nice to hear. Nonetheless, I will continue trying it out to see if it shifts effectiveness in any direction.

Sweet guide, you can be proud of it, especially for your first one. Nice English, lots of useful informations, smart approach to Kassa in Domi, I already tried it in a game and it worked well, totally agree that Hybrid will make him more useful than full AP. Heroes part felt a bit long, but useful nevertheless, not sure if it's possible to make it more concise, probably not.
Ye map was a bit meh, but heck, I don't think most players will need it, it's easier to see & try in-game anyways. Maybe just remove it again...
A nice movie might be the cream on the cake, but meh, I don't think it's necessary, if you have problems don't strain yourself. This is already a very nice guide, and what players come back for will mainly be all the information. A movie might be watched once or not at all, with questionable results.
Hope to maybe see a few more great guides like this one from you in the future.

Thank you jawspring, I took a lot of time while sick to write this up. I'm planning on making another guide, any suggestions people? (Can be Dominion or normal)
