In teamfights

When playing Katarina team fights is your lottery, you can both get endless of kills or endless of deaths, one way to higher the chance is to always wait until someone engages and also try to stay where they cant see you this higher the chances because if you randomly jumps out from fog of war they need to react if you just stay in their sight they will hold their fingers ready on their CC ability

Laneing

In my opinion her laneing is very strong due to her strong poke and mobility, of course it wont be so against counters, so Never pick Katarina against a counter.
