Introduction

Sup Guys.

Kayle is an awesome champion that can deal TONS of damage. Kayle is one hectic champion with simply awesome skills. This is how I build Kayle. You deal plenty of damage and still have some survivability.

NOTE - my first guide so yeah..

Pros / Cons

PROS

- Ton of damage
- High attack speed
- Great Ultimate
- Good at Farming with E
- Nice long range heal

CONS
- Squishy
- Vulnerable to CC

Combating the Cons

If you hide behind the tank then you should be alright. If not, you always have your ultimate and your heal/speed boost to escape tight situations.

Abilities

Holy Fervor
Kayle's passive, this is a GR8 passive and stacks with malady which makes it really, really nice.

Reckoning
Great nuke. Scales off 100% of your ability power PLUS 100% of your bonus attack damage. It EVEN slows the enemy by 35% AND (yes, this skill does more) it gives Kayle a damage increase to the target. OHH SO PAINFUL.

Divine Blessing
Great heal with a huge range, even gives a movement speed boost which is great for chasing/escaping.

Righteous Fury
This is your bread and butter skill. This gives your auto-attacks a massive range boost and adds a flat amount of damage and 20% of your ability power plus a nice splashy effect similar to Tiamat.

Intervention
Kayle's Ultimate, not much to say really. ONLY gives you or your allies a 3 second invulnerability to damage. Yeah. Not much. Low cooldown. Works well in 1v1s. Can be the deciding factor in teamfights if used correctly. "It's a great ultimate"

Runes

The Runes are standard really.
Magic penetration reds. With your core items, YOU deal a ****load of magic damage. Magic penetration will help you late game and works great with the magic resist shred that Malady gives.

Mana regen yellows. Kayle's abilities use a good amount of mana, so you'll want to be able to keep your mana up for that extra heal or use of ultimate that will save your life or your allies. You may also want to use attack speed yellows which will increase your overall attack speed if you think that mana regen will be no problem.

Ability power blues. All of Kayle's abilities (except 1) scale with ability power. You'll need at least some ability power to give your heals that extra boost.

Ability Power quints. Same with your blues. You'll want the extra power that little bit of AP it gives to your abilities.

Masteries

Masteries are standard. 21/0/9. Nothing special.

21 in offence. Getting that magic penetration and all that AP.

9 in utility. The extra mana is nice + the improved recall. Extra movement speed because everyone loves that and increased buff duration which is nice if you want to get red buff.

Items

STARTING ITEMS -

Your starting items should either be a Doran's Ring or Boots and 3 Health Potion. Either one is good. My preference is Doran's Ring seeing as it gives you a nice amount of health, ability power and mana regen. Plus the fact that Kayle has a heal that will help sustain her and also gives her some movement speed.

CORE ITEMS -

Your CORE ITEMS focus on building up a lot of attack speed and dealing a load of magic damage every attack which increases the more hits you are able to land on your target, so having a high attack speed works great. The CORE ITEMS also give you that little bit of resistance that you'll need in the game in order to not instantly die from being far too squishy. Your CORE ITEMS are as follows:

Berserker's Greaves - Best boots for this build. Other options include Mercury's Treads if the opposing team has a lot of CC, other then that Berserker's Greaves gets the job done.

Malady - When you get this item, your ability to deal damage increases a load. Your attack speed jumps and your attacks shred magic resistance.

Wit's End - You can get either Madred's Bloodrazor of Wit's End next. I prefer Wit's end simply because it is cheaper to get. It also depends on what kind of lane you are up against. If your enemies deal more magic damage get Wit's End, if they deal more physical damage get Madreds.

Madred's Bloodrazor - This item is the king of AWESOMENESS. It gives a ton of attack speed, some attack damage and even some armor. What makes this item so awesome is its awesome passive. It deals a bonus 4% of the target's maximum health as magic damage. << That's awesome.

SITUATIONAL ITEMS -

These items are for when you have finished buying your CORE ITEMS, although, sometimes you may deem them necessary to buy earlier in the game, such as Guardian Angel for more resistances, but these will lower your damage output. These are your SITUATIONAL ITEMS, and just like the name says, they are the items you buy depending on your situation.

Hextech Gunblade - A great item on Kayle. After getting your CORE ITEMS, you will deal loads of damage, and after getting a Hextech Gunblade you will deal TONS of damage. Also, the lifesteal and spell vamp is a nice bonus which will keep your health up. Passive is nice too eh?

Trinity Force - Gives a boost to all your stats and a nice passive too.

Guardian Angel - Just put it in there, since Kayle does resemble an angel AND Guardian Angel has good stats and an excellent passive that will make the enemy team less likely to focus on you so that you can focus on dealing the most damage.

Void Staff - Even MOAR magic penetration, and everyone loves penetration. Also gives a good about of AP. This item will help you to absolutely destroy squishies and even tanks when it comes to it. This is your go-to item for when the enemy team starts building magic resist when they realize how much pain you cause them.

Rabadon's Deathcap - Massive AP

Frozen Mallet - Great for staying on enemy carries, they can't even run away so you can keep swatting them and that extra health is even better. You can never have too many on-hit effects.

Nashor's Tooth - It's good man. AP, AS, Mana Regen, and CDR. CDR is good for Kayle, but personally, I've never really needed Righteous Fury to be on permanently, since the teamfight is already over in about ten seconds. Either way, this item is good.

Black Cleaver - Could be good, but this build focuses on maxing your magic damage output, and this item wouldn't be helping that, if you want more Attack Speed then go for the Nashor's Tooth or Trinity Force.

Guinsoo's Rageblade - I don't really use this item on Kayle. Simply because you get enough attack speed from your core items. I know that this item is used in a lot of builds and is overall great but it is not needed in this type of build.

Summoner Spells

Ignite - To finish of those annoying people that run off with about 50 health. Ignite gets to job done.

Flash - All round good spell. Can be used for escaping/chasing. A nice in-your-face surprise.

Ghost - Nice movement speed boost, similar to flash without the 'in-your-face surprise.'

Surge - The new spell, sounds like it would be good on this build, but I haven't tried it.

Early Game

With a good amount of skill and familiarity, Kayle can pretty much go anywhere on the map, even in the jungle :D if you're new to Kayle then your best bet would be to go bot with someone with a nice disable which will allow you time to slow and attack them but, BUT, always focus on farming! Kayle's early game is pretty weak before you get Malady. So just farm, farm, and farm some more. It should be easy enough with your E. If your taking too much harass damage then buy a Cloth Armor or Null-Magic Mantle which can be later built into your core items.

Mid Game

By now you should have finished your Berserker's Greaves, Malady, and on the way to a Wit's End or Madred's Bloodrazor unless you already have one of them. By now your attack speed should be really nice and you should be able to harass your enemy laner(s) very well now.

Teamfights should be starting to occur, make sure to be behind the tanks and focus on the enemy carry and their squishies. Kayle needs to stay and get a few hits in before being able to deal the most damage she can. The correct use of Intervention can save a life.

Late Game

So you've finished your Wit's End and Madred's Bloodrazor and you deal a ton of damage. Now should be working on whichever item you need the most.

Hextech Gunblade for that increase in damage output. Trinity Force if you feel that you don't get enough awesomeness from Madred's Bloodrazor. If the other team is build magic resist, go for the void staff, and for that extra survivability go for a Frozen Mallet or Guardian Angel.

Make sure in teamfights to always let your tank initiate and stay behind them and swat (or spank) the enemy. Always remember that your E deals splash damage, so if the enemy team are all hiding in that bush near baron, make sure to get as many hits as you can. Use your ultimate on either yourself or the other carry depending on who is being focused. In fights like this great positioning is the key to winning.

DESTROY THE SQUISHIES! (sorry teemo ilys)

Kayle's Ultimate - Intervention

Using Kayle's Ultimate - Intervention can be a difficult task.

First of all, DO NOT USE it right before your about to die. YES that's right.
You should actually use it to soak the most damage that your enemy throws at you.

Scenario 1
The enemy champion is Annie,
She is level 6 and you are level 6. She has her stun up. She has her ultimate up. You should use your ultimate when annie is about offload her combo in your face. This can be difficult but it really helps if you can try and predict when the enemy will try to use there nukes on you.

Scenario 2
You're in a team fight. You should use your ultimate on the ally that will deal the most damage, which should be the carry. Sometimes you (Kayle) will deal the most damage, so use your ultimate on yourself and no-one but yourself :P.

Scenario 3
Someone gets ganked and is running away at low health blahblahblah use your ultimate on them and also heal them so that they can run faster and slow the enemy champion with your Q.

Scenario 4
Karthus Ult. Kayle Ult.
