Hello. Thank you for coming to view my guide on how to play Lissandra - The Ice Witch. I am a 14 year old mid lane main who has played Lissandra for a very long time. I've already played hundreds of games with her and I usually tend to play very consistently with her. The reason why I like Lissandra is because she is a versatile mage who can build various items and fulfil different roles. A very well-rounded and flexible pick. She is a very strong and fun champion. I hope to continue the legacy of this champion and that she will remain a great pick, and that this guide will help you achieve the excellence and knowledge that is required in order to play her successfully on a consistent and often basis.

Lissandra's Pros Indepth
Lissandra has incredible mobility through her
Glacial Path, in addition to the incredibly potent crowd control that is in her kit through
Ice Shard,
Ring of Frost and
Frozen Tomb. Her
Frozen Tomb ability, her ultimate, allows her to gain 5 seconds of invulnerability when used in conjunction with the item
Zhonya's Hourglass in quick succession one after another.
She has many flexible build options which allow her to fit in roles that most mages like
Xerath for example can't. Making her a very reliable and easy to work with champion who can fit in almost any composition. She is probably one of the most competent roamers out of all mages in the game due to her flanking and lockdown potential. She also scales great with major items and is quite easy to farm creep waves with.
Lissandra's Cons Indepth
The downsides to Lissandra are quite unfortunate. Not only does she suffer from the typical problems that mages encounter, but she also has a few that are exclusive to herself which can prove problematic to deal with if you get behind.
She can be played as a lane bully against melee assassins like
Zed but her low range, expensive mana costs and weak laning phase promote other playstyles. She has great waveclear at the expense of her bad early game.
Likewise, she also has an incredibly low base movement speed and because of her long ranged blink (
Glacial Path) which has a ~20 second cooldown at rank one she lacks the ability in order to make plays early game and not get punished for it. Her incredibly strong engage/lockdown potential is gated by her obvious mark from
Glacial Path which says "
AVOID X AREA" on your enemies screen. It is also a very slow moving projectile.
Her damage significantly falls off late game compared to other mages when against full item carries with a
Banshee's Veil or tanks, even if Lissandra has a full build completed with items such as
Liandry's Torment,
Void Staff and
Rabadon's Deathcap.
HYBRID PEN
greater mark of hybrid penetration
MARKS
Hybrid Penetration Marks highly benefit us. It allows our AA harrass to deal significantly more damage, we only lose out on about 2% magic resistance shred for a free 5% armor shred with our auto attacks against champions with high armor at early levels. It also allows us to last hit minions easier with auto attacks, allowing you to save mana when you need it.
MAGIC PEN
ALTERNATIVE
Lissandra benefits a ton from magic penetration as for it increases her damage output considerably at all stages of the game Vs.
greater mark of hybrid penetration. These are also a cheaper option of marks.
SCALING HP
SEALS
Scaling Health Seals make us deceptively tanky at later levels. Lissandra being a solo laner who needs to scale by buying about three items and then getting a few points into her ultimate allows her to get away with farming and gaining a load of experience by taking jungle camps.
ARMOR
ALTERNATIVE
Seals of armor are good to take against attack damage carries or assassins that you may go against or encounter in the mid lane.
FLAT AP
GLYPHS
Ability Power Glyphs will raise our early game damage considerably. Even though we lack amazing AP Ratio's, they aren't trash either. Taking these glyphs will boost your early game damage significantly and allow you to win trades. It will also allow you to shove waves of minions into the enemies tower quicker with your abilities which will make the enemy laner lose farm.
M. RESIST
or
SCALING M. RESIST
or
SCALING AP
ALTERNATIVE
Magic resistance is an important statistic which many champions with the exception of tanks and ability power based supports neglect and tend to lack until they pick up their last item which is usually a defensive one. Mages which huge early and mid game burst will constantly attempt & succeed in killing you if you don't have some sort of defensive setup since
Lissandra is squishy and prone to being burst down due to her low defensive stats and inherent squishiness. Scaling AP outscales and outclasses flat AP but it takes time getting used to.
FLAT AP
QUINTESSENCES
Along with the
Greater Glyph of Ability Power, this'll grant you an insane 25 early game ability power. Each ability will do about 15 more magic damage at early levels. At early levels, this is a huge deal! If you land your harass onto enemy champions you'll deal huge damage to them and force them to play passively. Resulting in potentially winning your lane for the early levels or zoning your laner from creeps.
SCALING AP
ALTERNATIVE
These quintessences can be used in replacement of
Greater Quintessence of Ability Power since
Lissandra scales quite well into the mid game and the more ability power you have, the better. This does mean that you have less kill pressure and waveclear potential in the early game, but you're not sacrificing a game-changing amount of ability power early.
UTILITY
Personally. I prefer utility masteries. They allow us to take double mobility summoner spells (
Flash &
Teleport/
Ghost and buy
Sorcerer's Shoes - Distortion and take 3 points into the mastery
Summoner's Insight
so that my flash cooldown is only 216 seconds down from 300. Allowing me to get a lot more good engages with a
Glacial Path +
Flash into
Frozen Tomb combo onto the enemy team. giving them little time to react.
Meditation
allows me to regenerate mana in lane with the
Doran's Ring that we buy which gives me enough mana regeneration in order to survive the lane and keep pressure up on my opposing laner. We also take
Feast
which allows us to regenerate a huge amount of mana as long as we're farming correctly and utilizing our
Doran's Ring passive and the
Feast
mastery.
Last but not least. I like the utility tree over the defensive tree because of the biscuits converted from
Health Potion's we get from
Culinary Master
which grant us an additional 20 health and 10 mana upon cast.
DEFENSE
If you want to take defence since Lissandra is incredibly squishy then do so. As for it allows you to win duels in the early game due to the increased resistances you get from
Enchanted Armor
aswell as the increased hp and damage reduction you get from
Veteran Scars
/
Juggernaut
and
Block
/
Unyielding
.
The reason why I decide to choose
Enchanted Armor
over
Recovery
is because of as
Lissandra you will most likely end up building two items (not always, but most of the time) that grant resistances e.g. (
Zhonya's Hourglass/
Athene's Unholy Grail.)
OFFENSE
Everything else in the offence tree is standard. The more damage we deal, the better. The stats that it grants us early and mid game help us to scale up quicker and start dumpstering their team mid game once we pick up items.
Sorcery - Cooldown Reduction is great on champions like
Lissandra who rely on their abilities. The more often our abilities are up, the better.
Butcher
/
Feast - Allows us to last hit and sustain earlier on in the lane so that we can generate more gold for us to use in order to buy our major items.
Mental Force
/
Arcane Mastery
/
Archmage
- Grants us more ability power so our spells deal more damage to enemies.
Executioner
- Makes us do more damage to enemy champions with low health.
Dangerous Game
- Gives us a small amount of health and mana after we pick up a kill or assist on an enemy champion. This can save you from
Ignite or minion damage after a duel.
Arcane Blade
- Allows our auto attacks to do damage based off our ability power. This is good since we can apply grievous wounds with our auto attacks to low health targets if we have
Morellonomicon since the damage it adds is MAGIC DAMAGE. This damage DOES apply to structures.
Devastating Strikes
- It lets our abilities and auto attacks deal more damage as they ignore a percentage of the enemies magic resistance and armor.
Havoc
- Increases all of our damage from auto attacks, spells and even items such as
Frost Queen's Claim (which is an item which we shouldn't be building but it's interesting to know.)
Recommended Summoner Spells
|
Flash is an amazing summoner spell. It's too good to pass up, especially on immobile mages or champions who have strong long range surprise initiation. Lissandra has both. It is a free get-out-of-jail card but it can also be used to dodge important enemy disables or to block enemy projectiles from hitting a teammate such as Caitlyn's ultimate, Ace in the Hole. There are just so many ways that Flash can be used so you mustn't pass this spell up for another. |
|
Lissandra's kill pressure immediately spikes at level 6. Ignite will allow you to kill your enemy much easier since the extra damage will probably be enough to kill them if you include your full combo. It is very good for all ins. It also grants vision of enemies, so use it if the enemy champion you are trying to kill is attempting to make you lose vision of them so they can turn the fight around on you so that you don't end up losing the fight. Ignite also reduces all healing on that enemy by 50% for its duration. |
|
Teleport can be taken as a replacement for Ignite if you would much rather be able to farm and have global map pressure. Whilst in the mid lane it can be pretty pointless early since you could just roam to the location of where the fight is happening since you're in the middle of the map and should usually be close to it. It can still be taken in order to help out in fights if you've just used
recall
to get back to base. I don't recommend using Teleport to get back to lane faster.
|
Alternative Summoner Spells
|
Ghost grants Lissandra the much needed mobility that she needs when her Glacial Path is on cooldown. It allows her to chase, kite and duel very effectively. Flash + Ghost + Enchantment: Distortion will grant you huge chasing power and mobility.
|
|
Barrier is good to pick on Lissandra if you're against an assassin that you don't feel confident going against your enemy and you want to play safe in the early game. Barrier can also be used in order to make you seem weaker than what you actually are since the effective health it grants due to it being a shield. It's great for baiting enemies. I prefer Barrier over Heal because Lissandra is a solo laner. |
|
Exhaust is good if the enemy team has multiple bursty champions and you want more self/team peel. It also shreds armour/magic resist by a flat value of 10 which increases the damage that the enemy that is affected by the Exhaust by a small percentage.

ICEBORN
|
Lissandra's
next ability costs
no mana.
- The cooldown is reduced by 1 second whenever Lissandra impairs an enemy's movement with an ability (does not apply to movement-impairing effects from items).
Passive: Tips & Tricks
Use
Ice Shard when
Iceborn is off cooldown if you want to conserve mana for your combo and poke the enemy down slowly before going all-in.

ICE SHARD
|
COOLDOWN: 6 / 5.25 / 4.5 / 3.75 / 3
DAMAGE: 75 / 110 / 145 / 180 / 215 (+ 65% AP)
SLOW: 16 / 19 / 22 / 25 / 28%
Lissandra throws a spear of ice in the targeted direction which shatters upon hitting an enemy, dealing
magic damage and
slowing it for 1.5 seconds. Shards then pass through the target, dealing the same damage to other enemies hit
but not applying the slow.
Q: Tips & Tricks
Use
Ice Shard to poke the enemy laner whilst killing minions.
Remember that
Ice Shard only slows the first unit it collides with. The only target that is slowed is the unit not effected by the shatter mechanic.
Ice Shard has a strong AP% Ratio and decent base damage on an incredibly low cooldown. Use it on enemies as much as you can.
Use this ability in order to push the lane and kill minion waves with ease.

RING OF FROST
|
COOLDOWN: 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10
DURATION: 1.1 / 1.2 / 1.3 / 1.4 / 1.5
DAMAGE: 70 / 110 / 150 / 190 / 230 (+ 40% AP)
Lissandra freezes an area around herself,
dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and
rooting them for a
short time.
W: Tips & Tricks
Ring of Frost does not interupt
Lissandra's previous movement orders. You will still continue moving after casting the ability.
If an invisible unit is affected, a particle will appear showing the position of where they are.

GLACIAL PATH
|
COST: 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 MANA
COOLDOWN: 24 / 21 / 18 / 15 / 12
DAMAGE: 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 (+ 60% AP)
Lissandra casts a claw of ice that moves forward in a line,
dealing magic damage to all enemies hit.
Reactivating this ability
transports Lissandra to the
claw's current location.
E: Tips & Tricks
Glacial Path goes over any wall in the game. Use it to engage from far away onto the enemy team or to close distance between yourself and your enemies.

|
FROZEN TOMB
|
DAMAGE: 150 / 250 / 350 (+ 70% AP)
ENEMY CAST:
Lissandra freezes target champion solid, dealing
magic damage and
stunning it for 1.5 seconds.
SELF CAST:
Lissandra encases herself in a glacier for 2.5 seconds, becoming
untargetable and
invulnerable but unable to take any actions.
Dark ice then spreads from Lissandra's target dealing magic damage to all enemies in the area as it expands. The ice lasts for 3 seconds and slows the affected enemy's Movement Speed.

Why?
You max Q on Lissandra if you want good dueling, farming and damage potential. The decent base damage and AP scaling combined with Ice Shard's low cooldown allows Lissandra to excel in small skirmishes and it also grants her the ability to trade well. Take R at levels 6, 11, 16.

|
|
|
|
|
| |
When?
When you feel confident enough in lane to win over your opponent and aren't worry about the enemy jungler ganking you. Due to Ice Shard's high mana cost it is recommended to buy an item that grants mana or mana regeneration to allow you to sustain this playstyle. Take R at levels 6, 11, 16.

Why?
You max Ring of Frost if you're having a problem sustaining mana and want the increased root duration vs melee champions and are scared of them killing you in lane. It still allows you to waveclear but it means you lose damage potential until you reach level 13 (Q maxed) or get a heap of ability power.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
When?
Champions such as Riven have many gap closers and deal huge burst damage, so this might call for a Ring of Frost max if you want to play defensively and aren't an experienced Lissandra player. Take a more defensive summoner spell like Barrier or Teleport if you are going to be using this playstyle.
|
START
DORAN'S RING
|
|
|
Doran's Ring is an essential item on all mages. This allows you to trade with the enemy mid laner due to the ability power, flat health and the mana regeneration it grants. It also allows you to survive the early laning phase due to the passive which grants a small amount of mana for each unit you kill. It also allows you to start with 2x Health Potion.
|
CLOTH ARMOR
BOOTS OF SPEED
|
|
|
A lot of mages are skillshot reliant. Lissandra has an incredibly low base movement speed (325) which generally makes it difficult to avoid skillshots. Having Boots in addition to 4 Health Potion's or 2/3 Health Potion's and 1/2 Mana Potion's also allows you to sustain against the enemy poke. Champions like Ziggs, Syndra or Xerath who have low cooldown skillshot nukes are generally difficult to avoid with a low base movement speed. Taking boots first will help you avoid taking unnecessary damage and poke.
|
FAERIE CHARM
|
|
|
It's up to you whether or not you want to purchase 1 or 2 Faerie Charm's but I personally prefer 1 on Lissandra so I can have the 4 Health Potion's and either 2 Mana Potion's or an early Stealth Ward. With the season 5 changes, building Faerie charm isn't always a good idea early. Considering that Lissandra has one of the lowest mana regeneration per 5's in the entire game due to her having her passive, I wouldn't recommend building it unless you want an early Chalice of Harmony or Forbidden Idol.
|
CRYSTALLINE FLASK
|
|
|
You can choose to either buy 3 Health Potion's, 2 Health Potion's & 1 Mana Potion or whatever combination you want. You could even just buy one potion of your choice and a ward, since you'll have the sustain from the Flask. But I don't recommend it since you're probably starting with this item because you want as much early game sustain as possible in order to scale up, survive the lane, buy items and then wreck the enemy team mid game.
|
SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL
|
|
|
Lissandra's base mana pool is quite low. I used to start with Sapphire Crystal all the time but in reality you should only take it if you want to build it into an incredibly early Rod of Ages and you know you don't need the extra health and ability power Doran's Ring grants you early game.
|
LANING
CHALICE OF HARMONY
|
|
|
Lissandra's high mana costs gate her potential. With her low cooldowns but low base mana pool she isn't able to spam her main damage spell Ice Shard enough to create enough pressure in the lane. Having mana regeneration from Chalice solves this problem. The magic resistance is gives is great too.
|
CATALYST THE PROTECTOR
|
CATALYST THE PROTECTOR |
|
This item makes you more tanky, gives you a decent amount of mana and sustain through it's passive. It allows you to farm and trade with your opponent. It doesn't offer any ability power however you don't need it for early laning since your main powerspike is when you start to gain items that allow you to scale well into the late mid game where major scale teamfights happen.
|
SEEKER'S ARMGUARD
|
|
|
Lissandra has quite good waveclear. Her base resistance stats are quite low so this item helps her out by granting her a set amount of armor and ability power. This item has quite a good build path too ( Amplifying Tome + Cloth Armor). Every time she kills a minion she gains a stack which grants her 0.5 AP/Armor. This item will make you tankier and will make it harder for the enemy laner to kill you. Only build this in lane if you're against an AD champion or you are super ahead and an enemy AD champ is starting to also get out of hand.
|
HAUNTING GUISE
|
|
|
Lissandra's base damages are quite good. She benefits a ton fron having magic penetration. This item is rather expensive to purchase in lane but it also gives a decent amount of ability power and health which makes you harder to kill. Once you buy this you get a good powerspike.
|
FIENDISH CODEX
|
|
|
Builds both into Morellonomicon and Athene's Unholy Grail which benefit Lissandra a ton. Fiendish Codex is a good item to buy early if you're ahead and you want the cooldown reduction to pressure your lane opponent and zone them from farm with your abilities. It also grants 30 AP which is huge.
|
FORBIDDEN IDOL
|
|
|
For only 600 gold it grants you a small amount of cooldown reduction in addition to some mana regeneration. It also builds into Morellonomicon. If you recall early and don't have enough for a Fiendish Codex and a few Health Potion's buy this instead in addition to the potions for lane sustain.
|
SORCERER'S SHOES
|
|
|
Good item for mages. Grants movement speed and magic penetration which increases your spell damage by a significant amount. Lissandra's low movement speed doesn't allow her to get around the map very quickly, so this benefits her a ton.
|
IONIAN BOOTS OF LUCIDITY
|
|
|
Good item for mages like Lissandra. Grants movement speed and cooldown reduction which allows you to use your abilities more often. It also makes her mobility spell have a lesser cooldown allowing you to roam more effectively.
|
MID GAME
MORELLONOMICON
|
|
|
Morellonomicon is a cheap item which grants amazing stats. It gives you a large amount of ability power, cooldown reduction, mana regeneration and a passive which inflicts grevious wounds onto enemy champions that are below 40% of their maximum health threshold.
|
ATHENE'S UNHOLY GRAIL
|
|
|
Athene's Unholy Grail grants you magic resistance, a decent amount of ability power, a huge amount of mana regeneration and cooldown reduction. It is more expensive than Morellonomicon but it can be a good buy if you feel like you need the mana for waveclear and you want to play more defensively.
|
ROD OF AGES
|
|
|
Rod of Ages grants you a huge amount of health, mana, ability power and a passive that gives you sustain. This and Zhonya's Hourglass makes you incredibly tanky and allows you to initiate fights.
|
ZHONYA'S HOURGLASS
|
|
|
This item grants a whopping 120 ability power and 50 armor in addition to an active that grants vulnerability to you for 2 and a half seconds. This can be used to stop targeted spells from damaging you such as Veigar's Primordial Burst and Caitlyn's Ace in the Hole. It is an important item to buy if you're against an attack damage assassin like Kha'Zix, Shaco or Zed or against a fed AD carry.
|
RABADON'S DEATHCAP
|
|
|
There's really not much to say about this item except for that it is mandatory for almost every single champion that has amazing ability power scalings. It grants you a huge AP boots which helps you with all of the damage that you'll be outputting onto the enemy team.
|
ABYSSAL SCEPTER
|
|
|
Lissandra has quite short range. For her to do damage, she needs to be in range. The aura shreds magic resist of nearby enemies which is similar to the range of your abilities. It also grants you a good amount of AP + MR which you'll need for a cheaper price than other alternative items.
|
LIANDRY'S TORMENT
|
|
|
This item is perfect for shredding tanks. Lissandra's low cooldowns allow her to duel effectively since she has self peel and decent damage and mobility, so this item benefits her quite a lot. It costs quite a lot of gold so I'd only recommend to purchase it if you need to have the health and you're extremely ahead. Lissandra's spells also impair movement with the exception of Glacial Path which applies the stronger burn passive.
|
LATE GAME
RYLAI'S CRYSTAL SCEPTER
|
|
|
Gives a huge amount of AP and Health. The passive doesn't do a whole lot since all of your spells are all Area of Effect (AOE) but it could be beneficial. You only really want it for the stats it grants though. This item makes you deceptively tanky and the AP that it grants makes it ideal as a 6th item.
|
VOID STAFF
|
|
|
When enemies start stacking magic resist, or even something like a Null-Magic Mantle you really need magic penetration. This makes 35% of your damage get ignored by the magic resist that your enemy has and it also grants you ability power. It's a very cheap item for the stats it grants.
|
LUDEN'S ECHO
|
|
|
Likewise of Zhonya's Hourglass & Rabadon's Deathcap it grants you a decent amount of ability power, as well as a passive that can be useful to clear waves of minions and it grants you a %movement speed amplifier. Pretty neat.
|
GUARDIAN ANGEL
|
|
|
Standard item on carries and late game damage dealers like Lissandra. Grants you resistances and a passive which revives you after your health pool reaches 0 so you can continue fighting. Makes you difficult to initiate on and if you get caught out you get the opportunity to re position.
|
BUILDS
|
|
|
POST LEVEL 6
|
|
|
Frozen Tomb is an incredibly strong disable. By this time, you should have some ability power and maybe some cooldown reduction. You should attempt to force your opponent out of lane and generate a lot more map pressure in your lane, forcing the jungler to pay attention to you so your teammates can get some breathing room. This could also potentially result in a kill. Use Glacial Path over walls to surprise your lane opponent when they least expect it.
|
|
|
|
LATE LANING PHASE
|
|
|
Lissandra is an incredibly impeccable roamer and ganker. She can easily set up kills and catch off enemies from surprise so roaming when your lane is pushed or your laner has recalled is a great time to go to another lane and try and get kills. You want to snowball for the midgame but you also want to share that power you gain with your team.
|
|
|
|
SKIRMISHES
|
|
|
Lissandra is very strong at fighting in small spaces such as corridors within the jungle and in the dragon/baron pit. She can contest objectives relatively well and her area of effect lockdown potential along with her huge burst damage really starts to become a threat at this stage in the game. Abuse it. Start grouping and force the enemy to react, take dragons and have small teamfights. Catch people out alone and snowball the advantage that you have. You can easily force someone's flash since you pose such a threat when with other teammates.
|
|
|
|
LATE GAME
|
|
|
Everyone will be playing safe at this point. You need to be the playmaker. Find opportunities where you can take advantage of mis-positioned enemies or when your enemy team is grouped up on top of eachother so start a fight. Your kit allows you to create picks in addition to dive into the enemy backline and cause havoc + disruption. Take advantage of that and then take objectives.

MORE INFORMATION
Ahri has a lot more early game presence and she has an equally as strong level 6. She snowballs harder than you and has superior range and waveclear. Her roams can be incredibly deadly and she has a flexible buildpath. She has huge kill potential on you if you don't play this lane correctly since she can easily punish you for simple mistakes. Ahri is also difficult to gank since she gains movement speed from
Orb of Deception and has mobility with her
Spirit Rush dashes. She also has her
Charm which can temporarily disable an attacker. But as Lissandra you are also quite difficult to gank but are especially vulnerable when you don't have your tools available to you, unlike Ahri who can just play safe and wait for her abilities to come up since they have a shorter cooldown than yours. You outshine her in teamfights. You can wait for her to use her ultimate aggressively in a crowded teamfight and lock her in place with your
Ring of Frost and
Frozen Tomb and attempt to burst her if she ever ventures into the front line, but then you become vulnerable and cannot use your hard crowd control and disables to peel for your teammates or focus their other carries.

AKALI
assassin
|
MORE INFORMATION
Akali doesn't have the ability to bully you before level 6. She only has one ranged ability which is her Q,
Mark of the Assassin (that she needs to use for farming). If you zone her she won't be able to activate the mark and get farm, but will probably try harass you. At level 6, the entire dynamic of the lane changes. You can deny her very easily before level 6, but after she will attempt to all in you with
Ignite or roam to other lanes. Akali doesn't require

when you do, so invading their jungle might be a solid choice. Shutting her down early is a good idea. Try and fight her when she has just reached level 6 if you aren't on low health since she will only gain one stack of her ultimate
Shadow Dance. Make sure that you engage on her when she has a low amount of energy so she can't retaliate. Buy
Vision Wards against her in the mid game to counter her stealth from
Twilight Shroud or upgrade your
Sweeping Lens trinket into a
Oracle's Lens. She is very vulnerable to disables and burst, both of which you possess. Stop her from snowballing and you'll outscale her immediately. She won't pose a threat. Try and get the mid lane tower early so you can have a good amount of control all over the map so you can make plays elsewhere since she will most likely play passive if she gets behind and it's later on in the stages of the game.

HIGH RANGE CHARACTER
|
|
MORE INFORMATION
You both have relatively low kill potential on eachother. Do not call for ganks, do not try kill her. Play safe. Get as many
crest of insight
buffs as you can and deny her experience early game unless you're being too risky and opening yourself to an enemy jungle gank. She isn't very strong at roaming. She has exceptional waveclear with her ultimate
Glacial Storm so don't stay out of lane for too long. However, roam as often as possible whilst trying to destory her tower every time she isn't in lane in order to open the map. Build magic resistance and early game health. You want to get to your mid game powerspike and fight as a team whilst she is still weak and end the game as soon as possible otherwise she will start to outdamage all of your carries combined with her AOE and single target burst and will start taking objectives by herself due to her huge zoning and absurd damage potential. She's quite vulnerable to gap closers but an experienced
Anivia will self peel super well with her
Flash Frost. Basically, if you play too aggressively she'll wreck your Nan at the back of Tesco's.

ANNIE
mage
|
MORE INFORMATION
Annie is a strong laner and has huge burst potential due to her great AP ratios. She has a lack of mobility but she has decent base stats and her
Molten Shield grants her bonus resistances. In lane, she will attempt to last hit creeps and harass you with
Disintegrate. Be aware of when she has her passive,
Pyromania up as for her next spell will stun all enemies it hits. Try shut her down early by trying to poke her. Do not attempt to auto attack trade with her since your AA range is ~550 whilst her AA range is 625~. Instead, use
Ice Shard in a conservative manner which will allow you to hit creeps and gain the kill whilst hitting
Annie when her
Molten Shield is not up. If you have
Ignite you can all in her at level 6 and use
Frozen Tomb to either dodge her
Summon: Tibbers by predicting when she will use it or by stunning her and bursting her down. Your role in teamfights is to dive into the enemy team and disable as many people as you can whilst making yourself invulnerable. Initiating on the enemy backline first means that
Annie has to be careful about using her ultimate to retaliate/counter engage once the fight has broken out. Be careful of her burst potential because she can easily use her full combo on you and 100-0 you within a few seconds. She has a stronger laning phase than you and snowballs incredibly hard. Her roams are slightly less effective than yours.

more informatiion
Azir's weak early game makes him prone to being bullied. He scales incredibly hard into the game however he needs to get items for that. In order to buy those items he needs to farm exceptionally well and snowball in the mid lane. You can shove the lane and waveclear better than him and your roaming is superior to his. Your
Glacial Path can go over his
Emperor's Divide since it's a blink and you have good teamfight presence. He is weak against CC and is a squishy champion but will usually receive peel from his teammates. Focus him down if he overextends in teamfights or he is an easy picking and you won't end up blowing too much on him (such as summoner spells or
Frozen Tomb unless neccesary) so that you can take objectives. Be careful of Azir's mid game when he gets a few items since that is when he gains a massive spike in power. Also be aware of his fast animations with Q and R since this can lead to unexpected situations. If he manages to get fed then you'll be placing an order at McDonalds for a new nexus.

MORE INFORMATION
This is a make-or-break lane.
Brand has good burst damage with decent range but he must combo his abilities. They have a high mana cost and you can take advantage of that. Save your
Frozen Tomb and self cast it before
Pyroclasm hits you. Dodge his
Sear and
Pillar of Flame and you can easily kill him as long as you have enough health. You outscale him and have better roam potential but he does out-range you. If you burst him then he cannot lock down and burst your team. His
Blaze means that he synergies incredibly well with
Liandry's Torment and deals massive damage over time to anybody that he attacks with his abilities. He has good laning presence so try and get out of lane as fast as possible and then proceed to destroying his team with your superior roaming and damage. Patience is key.[

more information
Cassiopeia is really good in all stages in the game. Her only downfall is her lack of instant mobility and her only instant re positioning spell being her summoner spell
Flash which she also needs to get surprise
Petrifying Gaze stun engages. She has decent poke and sustain. Her passive
Aspect of the Serpent grants her a huge amount of ability power later on in the game in addition to a huge amount of cooldown reduction. She scales really well into the late game and has a decent amount of utility and dueling potential. You can self cast
Frozen Tomb to dodge her
Petrifying Gaze if you cannot turn away from her since her animation is quite fast. Shut her down mid game unless you want her to reach +1000 AP with spellvamp and single target slows. She's quite prone to being engaged on like all mages and whilst she can kite and duel well, she is still vulnerable to burst. Try surprise engage on her with
Glacial Path over a wall into a
Frozen Tomb +
Ring of Frost to immobilize her when she least expects it and make her vulnerable so that she cannot engage onto your team and kill everyone.

MORE INFORMATION
If he builds full AP. He'll kill you. If he builds full tank. He'll kill you and won't die unless you stack magic penetration. If he goes for a mix, surrender at 20 minutes. Keep him down in the early laning phase and try force him to go back to base as often as possible in addition to forcing your jungler to camp the lane. He has insane damage potential and scales very well. He has ridiculous sustain with
Carnivore and gains a free health point bonus with
Feast when it kills a unit. His AP scalings are crazy and the crowd control within his kit can and will disable your entire team (
Rupture &
Feral Scream). You want to play incredibly safe in this matchup unless you have a clear advantage. You need to waveclear, farm and scale as much as you can or you'll become irrelevant when you gain your powerspike because of how hard he can shut you down alone...

more information
Corki is super safe. His popularity has been surging in the mid lane recently due to mid game double AD comps and the fact that his safe laning, good all round kit and he is strong at all stages at the game. He will probably farm until level 6 where he will become a poke machine. He has a ton of damage in his kit in addition to a small amount of utility due to his sight reveal from
Phosphorus Bomb and armor shred from
Gatling Gun. He scales very well into mid game and with his safety granted from
Valkyrie being such a long ranged dash it can sometimes be impossible to get away from him or chase him. Your
Glacial Path travels slower than he does however yours is guaranteed to go through walls as long as the claw goes through half of the wall. Also, his dash can be interrupted mid-cast. If you re-activate
Glacial Path you will instantly blink to the location. You can use this to your advantage by surprising him and then rooting him with
Ring of Frost so you and your team can follow up and burst
Corki down.

DIANA

|
MORE INFORMATION
Diana has the tools to duel you and turn around ganks in her favour alone against anyone once she gains access to her ultimate,
Lunar Rush. She has so much burst and will always snowball harder than you will unless you deny her completely and you manage to get fed. She can easily roam and pick up a few kills or invade by herself. Take advantage of the fact of her low base mana pool and considerably high mana costs. Her two main abilities (
Crescent Strike/
Pale Cascade) both have low cooldowns. If she spams her abilities then you probably pick up a quick kill or two if you couple your full combo onto her with an
Ignite. Bully her early and deny her farm. Don't let her trade with you. Giving her the opportunity to trade with you WILL make you lose the lane. You can stop her from doing anything in teamfights with your
Ring of Frost and
Frozen Tomb if she becomes a threat.
Diana can easily build tanky whilst still being an effective assassin, so try and shut her down as early as possible once she becomes out of hand.

|
more information
Ezreal is annoying to deal with, but he's becomming a popular powerpick due to playrate within the League Challenger Series (LCS). As a result, you'll face him a lot more than what you used to. And he's a pretty annoying champion to face. He's very slippery and whilst he only does offer damage to the team, his long range and good burst damage will make him a formidable opponent. He's difficult to beat. You want to avoid his
Essence Flux since it CHUNKS for loads... His
Mystic Shot hurts and deals physical damage so this idiot deals hybrid damage making it hard to itemize. His ultimate will one-shot you if you let him get ahead in the mid game and he's just really good at sieging.
Ezreal has always been defined as a bad champion due to his lack of early game presence compared to other champions who fulfill a similar role, but now that the meta is shifting towards late game scaling tanks and farm champions he does well since his enemies can't omit any pressure onto him early to prevent him snowballing.

FIDDLESTICKS

MORE INFORMATION
Fiddlesticks has sustain with his
Bountiful Harvest but it has a short range tether leash break range (aka walk away 500 units from him and he'll stop draining you). He has good lane sustain and good poke with
Reap especially if it bounces between you and a minion multiple times. His
Terrify makes you unable to take actions and he can lower your magic resistance by a small amount (10) if he uses an ability on you applying
A Harmless Scarecrow. He has the tools to beat you in lane. He's immobile so poke him when his
Bountiful Harvest is on cooldown and then go on him when he's lower than full health. Jungle ganks might be good for you since he won't be able to escape them. If you do push the lane it'll mean he can sustain and not take any damage, but
Fiddlesticks has trouble farming especially under tower due to his clunky auto attack animation and incredibly low base attack damage. Don't let him use
Crowstorm in teamfights. Keep key area's warded where he could potentially ambush your team before going in for a fight. You can stop the channel of the ability since your
Ring of Frost and
Frozen Tomb both interrupt it, meaning he won't blink and activate his ultimate, and better yet he will still lose the mana for the cast and the ability will go on cooldown.

xFioraMaster18 is annoying to deal with because she doesn't need kills to snowball. You can self-cast
Frozen Tomb to stop her

Fiora is

Zhonya's Hourglass. Try make her waste her
Lunge since it's mana cost is moderate but she will soon run out of mana after using it too much. Try and not engage her too often at the early levels though because her burst damage is crazy and very difficult to deal with.

You're strong against him and have the tools to deal with him but no matter how hard you shut him down he'll always find a way to pick up kills. Just stall his main items long enough so that all of your team members get a notable power spike before him so that everyone on your team will be able to deal with him. Harass him with

Katarina can't do anything to you in lane, but contray to popular belief this champion is actually one of the worst champs you can go against as
Lissandra. According to statistics from LoLKing, in high elo games
Katarina will generally end up having three times better stats than the
Lissandra at the end of the game, but will have half of them before the ten minute mark. You must deny her early and not allow her to roam. If she does, you can either follow or take their mid tower and then roam to the opposite lane (usually top lane since
Katarina's always roam bot lane.) You need to help your team get ahead because otherwise she'll just end up killing your entire team because once she gets a kill your team can and WILL die. Make sure you don't let her outplay you with her
Shunpo. When in lane try harass her by using
Ring of Frost and then getting a point-blank

more information
Kennen's damage isn't really disrupted by most of your CC, which poses a big problem since you are largely dependent on that being true. The only thing
Ring of Frost really does is stop his
Lightning Rush from reaching you, and post-6 you have to remain in range of his ult to keep damaging him, which results in you getting stunned. This is, obviously, a problem. Keep moderate distance from (and behind) the minion wave, as
Kennen can't attack you through minions, and hit him occasionally to keep him from sitting around with a bunch of health. You want him high enough that he stays in lane, and low enough for you and your jungler to be able to kill him relatively quickly. Easier said than done, because it's
Kennen, but that's the goal. If you can manage not to get drastically outfarmed and keep the deaths to a minimum, you'll still be at least relevant when mid-game approaches. However,
Kennen should be a priority target for your team when that time comes, as he will likely be ahead of you in gold.

Athene's Unholy Grail exists and you can't poke her because
Help, Pix! exists and will ruin your day. She can follow up jungle ganks super well and she can turn them around aswell since she has the most annoying amount of CC. She can outplay you with her ultimate
Wild Growth since she can use it as you blink to your
Glacial Path which knocks you up preventing you from dealing follow-up damage or she can just run away. Will most likely be a farm lane with a tiny bit of occasional trading. You want to farm and be able to kill the enemy carries mid game when
Lulu isn't there.

Lux... She'll spam her laugh. Whilst doing that she'll throw out her combo (her
Final Spark has a stupid hitbox) and deal a million damage to you. BUT DON'T WORRY YOU HAVE YOUR
Frozen Tomb HAHAHA even though she'll probably end up baiting it somehow because her laugh also does damage to your ears which will make you not be able to concentrate... Basically, Lux outranges you by miles, and she has the build room and the synergy to rush an early Chalice. You're going to have a hell of a time in this lane, especially because Lux can kill you under your turret quickly and at a distance. She can easily pick up kills from other lanes without leaving her own with her ultimate so make sure that you keep the river(s) heavily warded.

He outranges you so you cannot zone him from minions and you can't trade with him since his damage is more reliable and more potent. You can't stop his ult unless you magically cast
Frozen Tomb 0.1 seconds on him before he casts
Nether Grasp but that interaction is a bug. His ult doesn't have cast time but yours does but it's so brief. So if you're faker and can predict when he'll ult you (say if he randomly
Flashes) then be prepared. His roams are stupidly annoying and he will probably get fed somehow because your jungler is probably AP
Garen and will tower dive him at level 2 so be really careful about how to approach this lane. I'd build tanky so that he can't insta-gib you.

GOOD SIEGING POTENTIAL
HIGH/MELEE RANGED CHARACTER
|
more information
Nidalee is very squishy and tends to build a massive amount of ability power with little magic resistance. You should be able to kill her in lane if she plays too aggressive but she is a safe laner with her range, waveclear and has sustain with her Human Form's E ability in addition to good zoning control and all in potential. If she jumps onto you with
Pounce lock her in place with
Ring of Frost and use your follow-up damage to turn around the fight in your favour and kill her. The reason why this is listed as hard is because it will either go one of two ways. You'll snowball and roam and she won't be able to do anything, or she'll snowball and the entire enemy team will become fed with her roams. It is incredibly rare for this to become a farm lane. Don't give her the advantage.

Orianna is a champion that benefits a lot more from items and farm than kills and roaming. She tends to run out of mana very quickly before her first back for

Riven is apparently the easiest matchup for
Lissandra out of every single champion within the League of Legends. NO! DO NOT BELIEVE THIS! A good
Riven WILL beat a great
Lissandra.
Ring of Frost disengages
Riven and she can't use
Broken Wings or
Valor to get to you but there will be that one time where it's not on cooldown and she will kill you. She will dodge or absorb
Ice Shard harass and will easily be able to farm up under tower which makes you left open and vulnerable to ganks. She can stop you from using
Glacial Path with her knockup + stun and she can outplay you with ease. This lane can go one of two ways. You will win, or you will feed. You will manage to deny her completely, or you'll deny her completely until level 6 and you'll make one mistake and then lose lane.

Avoid her early game poke. Make sure that you avoid all
Dark Sphere's and
Force of Will's as possible because she will kill you at level 6. You can use
Zhonya's Hourglass to block her ultimate. Sounds great, right? That's why mages build it early against her. As
Lissandra it's a great item but you can self cast
Frozen Tomb and dodge her
Unleashed Power whilst dealing damage to her with the area of effect from it! You can outplay her, use
Glacial Path when her abilities are on cooldown so she can't nuke you when you blink to it. You can also use it to dodge her
Dark Sphere +
Scatter the Weak stun. Harass her with [ice shard and get in short engagements with her. You're both equally as strong in all stages of the game but you are slightly better at roaming but she has a bit more late game single target burst as a result of you being stronger at diving the enemy backline. You set up jungle ganks better than her. Try be as troublesome as possible.

Lissandra usually excels in matchups where she outranges her opponents. She also is strong against champions who are melee. She gives assassins such a hard time in lane. Why is
Talon so strong against her? He can start
Crystalline Flask +
Health Potion x3 and out-sustain you. He doesn't need to stay in lane long to get level 6. He's got good AD scalings on his abilities and builds a huge amount of armor penetration. Out of all of the games I've had I've only been against
Talon 7 times and I don't even remember all the games but I only ever won a game against two of them, and won lane against a bronze 3 first time
Talon who somehow almost managed to beat me in lane. (I'm a noob...) This dude is a terror.
Rake can double-hit you which chunks your health and then he can follow up on that since you're slowed with
cutthroat and whilst you can
Ring of Frost him in place he will still catch up. Build tankier items and try and take advantage of every little thing you can possibly get your hands on. Bully him until level 4 because he'll start trading. Take jungle camps when possible. Keep the river warded. If he gets an item advantage over anyone on your team then game over... Pink wards + your ult stun on him are the only "possible" ways to beat him.
