Why not start wolves, then blue. Followed by a level 2 gank, taking headbutt and pulverize as your first 2 skills on level 1 enemies. You're guaranteed to burn a flash or get first blood.

that will also cause (mid or top) to come back to lane level 1 against a level 3 ally...

That's just a matter of preference and/or the tips in the guide are for beginner junglers usually. When i started i felt like following these guides like it was the Holy Bible but now i know how/when do stuff on my own..and i agree with your idea :)

Anyway i wish the uploader updated the guide but for Alistar it's still basically the same, except you upgrade the machete in the thing of the Lizard Elder or how it's called and build the same stuff. F.H., Shurelya, Randuin etc

Man, I'm only level 17 and i can't have that runes. And i found myself trying to beat the red buffy, but it's wery difficult. Is that because i'm noob or theese runes are really important ? Yeah and this guide is pretty nice :)

update for s3 and review the masteries and force of nature.. i didnt vote down u cuz i dont think it worths to downvote just for that...

i tried this recently and its very outdated.. u cant really jungle with alistar now.. btw i used 0-21-9 masteries.. but alistar is very mana thirsty and when i didnt have blue buff i was like a fish out of the ocean..

270 armor on Ali AND GA on top? Am I missing something?
To do your best you obviously need that extra sustain, but GA is a giant DON'T FOCUS ME FOOLS sign! It's cool to have 100/0/100, of course, but you hurt your team that way IMO. Better get Zeke's Herald.

I have a question, can you do the blue buff without help, and what lvl of summoner must have to do so. Normally I play game with auto match up, so the other player not really pay attention about what I'm doing and do I need help or not. I really love your guide, and it's very helpful. I hope you will continue update it.

very nice.
though im just confused. in the summary part(top part) the build is different from the guide itself.
in the top part, its omen, but in the main guide, tf is said to be the one to build.

please check this asap. GREAT GUIDE!

I'm unclear as to exactly which items you recommend getting in a typical game. In the purchase order section at the top there's a Randuin's Omen but no Trinity Force listed. In the section on items you have the Trinity Force and say it should be the 3rd item you buy, but Randuin's is listed as an item to get against AD heavy teams... so which section is right?

Trinity Force seems like a huge mistake on Alistar. It's definitely a great item, but unless you're getting fed, it's just way too expensive.

I think you're not giving Rylai's enough credit on Alistar. It provides a big chunk of health, lots of AP which helps all of your abilities (except your Ult) and the slow is great against single targets and for team fights.

At the top it also says to get the flat MR rune glyphs, but in the guide itself, it says the MR per level rune glyphs should be used (although there is a picture of the flat MR ones, but with text saying to use the MR per level ones)... so which is it? :D

Same items i run on support Alistar, but for jungling. I've just tried him after watching a Stonewall008 vid and it convinced me to try him in the jungle..he's AWESOME, i love jungle tanks and i'll use it a lot in the future!

Great job on the guide itself too, +1 from me

+1, excellent guide.

I have been using it a ton when playing jungle Ali, and I find it great. Also, maybe include a small chapter on when/when not to get oracles?
