Kog'Maw the Mouth of the Abyss or as I like to refer to him as The Long-Ranged Nuke

This is a guide that explains how I play Kog'maw. I play him as a pure Ability Power champion, as opposed to a DPS(damage per second) or a hybrid champion. Most of my reasoning should be included with my choices... if not just leave a comment and I'll be sure to respond.

*also this guide is not finished and will change, I just wanted to get it up and online... eventually i want to convert most of the text into a image and create my own smoother layout

Long Range
Spammable Ultimate (Living Artillery)
Great Bush Checker // Jungle Checker
Quick Creep Pusher
Dying can grant you a kill

Very Squishy
Very likely to be Ganked
No Real Escape Mechanic
No Stun

Champion Spells (including passive):
Incathian Surprise: Upon dying, Kog'Maw starts a chain reaction in his body which causes him to move faster and detonate after 4 seconds; dealing 100 + (25 x level) true damage to surrounding enemies.

Tips: Make sure to use this passive to the fullest potential. If your good at math you can quickly calculate how much damage you will do upon exploding on your enemy. For example if your looking for first blood just get an enemy to lower then 125hp and just chase them down, in some cases I often turret dive for the kill in the beginning.

Caustic Spittle:Passive: Increases Armor by a percent. Active: Kog'Maw launches a corrosive projectile which deals magic damage and doubles his passive armor penetration for 4 seconds (Removes the passive until availiable again.

Tips:If i begin to auto-attack a tuff target, this is the first I spell I fire, to double my passive armor penetration for a short period of time. This allows for a greater amount against high armored units.. such as tanks, neutrals, ect...

Bio-Arcane Barrage: Koh'Maw's attacks gain range and deal a percent of the target's maximum health as magic damage.

Tips:This is a great spell, it allows kog'maw to turn into a very long ranged auto-attacker. I use this to get the last couple shots off of a fleeing enemy when my Living artillery is unavailable. The nice thing about this skill is that it eats super minions, golem, lizard, dragon, and nashor; as well as high hp tanks. Use this combined with Void ooze to really punish your enemys.

Void Ooze: Kog'Maw launches a peculiar ooze which damages all enemies it passes through and leaves a trail which slows enemies who stand on it.

Tips:This spell is great creep farming skill as well as a harass/chase skill. When maxed it slows enemies that walk through it by 60% allowing you to easily catch up to anyone. This spell is my second most used on kog'maw

Living Artillery: Kog'Maw fires a living artillery shell at a great distance dealing damage and revealing targets. Additionally, multiple Living Artilleries in a short period of time cause them to cost additional mana.

Tips:This move is what makes kog'maw so fun to play. I use it to kill fleeing low health enemies, check bushes, and even creep farm. With its low cooldown its a spam skill, unfortunately it is mana heavy so be sure you afford to use the mana.

Summoner Spells:
Clarity: I chose clarity because Kog'maw is quite the mana hungry little monster and I decided that clarity was a nice little tool to feed his hunger. At level 1 clarity grants you 125; at level 18 clarity grants you 550 mana. I often find times where I dont want to go back to base yet to heal, or when im chasing someone down for a kill and I run out of mana. It can also serve as a nice to tool to help teammates out when the are low on mana too.
Cleanse: This little spell seems to be the tool that can put a damper on any plot to gank our little monster buddy Kog'maw. Knowing the fact that Kog'maw is squishy and has he can do to run away; which is why I have recommended using boots of speed. The +3 speed makes our little Koggy run faster than most champions that usually get +2 speed boots (not to mention the added bonus from liche bane). If you are about to ganked and you find your self slowed, stunned, ect... cleanse seems to be a simple fix.

Soon to come, rune choices, mastery choices, item build, play guide, lane partners.... please be patient for updates
