I.GAMEPLAY



Early game: Lane choice - Solo or dual?


It depends, sometimes it's better to go solo(you're the only carry in team), sometimes go dual(your team has better carry/dude needing really quickly levels/you see your enemies have too strong lane controller heading mid - stupid ****ty rat twitch and other invis champions go here too!). Most time you are on mid/your mate goes jungle so Karthus/rat/Ryze/someone goes solo too, but you sometimes have to take dual...

Solo lane


So you have solo? Yeah, let's begin.

Farm$$$

Last-hit minions whole ****in' time and get Madred's Razor nad Greaves quickly - order is important, Madred's first!

Harass :@

Not as important as farming minions, but it's still needed part - if you harass with Void Ooze and Artillery correctly - you can even net a kill! In worst situation you have free-farm.

Killing harassed enemy - jump in when you're sure it will result with nice kill. If unsure, better keep farming and harass a bit more --> repeat.

Dual lane


So you're stuck with mate on dual? Don't worry! It gives you small advantage - more gold and bodyguard.

Last-hitting $$$

You don't have to harass like on solo - your mate should do this part(unless it's melee carry without lane presence - then you're ****ed hardcorely).
Items are same as on solo(Madred's --> Berserker's).

Killing enemies

Same as with solo - when you're sure enemy can die(don't think your mate will help unless you tell him before kill) - jump in and kill.

After upgraded boots and Razors Early game is over



Mid game: Farm or gank?


Depends on champions in both teams:
-Your team has no bigger problems/You have good game/Both --> keep farming
-Problems! --> leave your lane and grab a kill or more --> farm a bit more

Items to build:


-Rush B. F. Sword => better farming
-Take Last Whisper => better farming + better ganking + better pushing(Armor penetration works on Turrets IIRC)
-Finish Bloodthirster => don't go to base until really need(5v1 gank? - recall) - go jungle and recover HP while still farming!
-Finish Bloodrazor => You're now in Late-game!

Late-game: Push, gank and teamfight!


Forcing teambattles:


1. Push/go Baron(if they have wards)/Backdoor(with mates obviously)
2. Wait 5(backdoor)-30(Baron) seconds(your team should be near so you survive)
3. Go to section Teamfight

Teamfight - time to shine!


Finally - you waited for this part whole guide, right?

Kog'Maw's role:
1. Ulti spamming - you take good part of enemies HP within seconds.
2. Killing their carry - use whole combo
3. They can do **** now --> kill tanks(someone should've cleaned support already, if not: DO IT!!!). With your MAX HP based damage(improved by Magic penetration from runes) and critical DPS from rightclicking(improved by Armor reduction from Q-skill, Armor Penetration from Last Whisper) it should be done quickly
4. Push REALLY quickly
5. You won/are winning

BUILD JUSTIFICATION(read before questions about build):


Skills


The first thing that could be strange for you is skill sequence: I hope you got solo lane, so we take skills for controlling lane and farming.

Runes:


Magic penetration Marks - Last whisper and Cleaver solve Armor Penetration, while we help Madred's passive and Bio-Arcane Barrage to deal damage
Mana reg/lvl Seals - to make sure we can constantly harass/farm/use whole skill-set in fight
CD reduction/lvl Glyphs - The only glyphs good to us(we take solo lane!) - These + Masteries + Golem give 8.1% + 9% + 25% = 42.1% at level 18! - Low-cd spells + cd reduction = ultra low-cd spells!

Masteries:


9-0-21 -- typical mage build.
-OMG KOG'MAW IS DPS NOOB!!!
It gives us enough spell power to use spells(Magic penetration for everything - Barrage and Madred's too!), CD reduction for obvious reason, Greed for faster farming, Awareness for faster lvling(and faster bonuses from runes), improved Summoner Spells by Presence(it's big part of Kog's survivality).

Items:


Lifesteal for staying on-lane(runes give mana-reg)until REALLY neccesary(low-hp and comming gank/Global team whole has level 6 - need itanz).
Madred's for farming.
Greaves for most DPS champions.
Early B. F. for lasthitting.
Last whisper and Bloodthirster for DPS-oriented champion(remember to stack Bloody Sword after death!).
Madred's Bloodrazors for more dmg vs. tanks.
Infinity for even more DPS with criticals.
Frozen Mallet to solve our HP problems(your tanks should take most damage),

Elixir's order is also important - Survival > Right-click power > little AP bonus(we have max CD reduction from runes and Golem). BUT!!! Take Blue one second when your team is losing(little AS gives less when comes to counter-pushing than CD-reduction and AP).
