Introduction

Hello this is my first guide I am a gold elo player my summoner name is SenseOfTouch on NA server and I like to play alot of Akali. She is my favorite champion in the game to play because of her high mobility, burst potential and escape. I see alot of people playing her and not doing as well as they could for very simple reasons and I would like to share some of what makes me successful playing Akali. Firstly, this guide is aimed at lower elo players with covering basic and some advanced tricks. It won't contain much knowledge more experienced Akali players won't already know.

All In Combo

Mark of the Assassin > Wait for Cooldown > Shadow Dance > Mark of the Assassin > Twilight Shroud to disengage then repeat or skip Twilight Shroud and go for the kill if you can get it by repeating the same combo but without waiting for the cool down.

Laning

Early levels 1-5

What is normally a good idea is to keep your Mark of the Assassin on your opponent at all times and proc it when they go to last hit but don't take tons of minion damage in return only try that when you have minion advantage. Once you hit level 3 you should have access to all three of your abilities. If you aren't able to harrass your lane opponent to win trades anymore you should use Mark of the Assassin to get as many last hits you can until level 6.
Another trick is to use your Twilight Shroud to either last hit so your opponent can't target you as easy or to place it between the minions and use it to try to zone your opponent by procing Mark of the Assassin from shroud when he tries to last hit. But above all else it is very important to not die before you hit level 6 even if it means losing 30+ minions. If you still have a Health Potion there is no reason for you to die.

Mid levels 6-11

At this point in the game you should have either Hextech Revolver or Seeker's Armguard depending on your match up. This is where the lane really starts for Akali now this is the time you want to start looking to trade with your laner. The standard Akali all in combo is to use your Mark of the Assassin on your target wait for the cooldown to come back up you should still have a couple seconds to engage and now Shadow Dance Auto attack to proc the mark now since you waited for the cooldown you can use your Mark of the Assassin immediately and finish the combo with Crescent Slash and to disengage use Twilight Shroud so you take as little damage as possible in return. Depending on your laner that should take off about half of their HP and keep that up and they will have to recall and lose xp/minions or you will kill them. Also if you cannot kill your laner let's say your against top or mid and can't seem to kill them in lane because malphite is too tanky and ziggs just pushes your lane all day; then right around level 6 when you get 3 charges of your Shadow Dance you can start looking to roam for some easy kills make sure to pick up Sweeping Lens around this time to sweep for wards when ganking.

Team Fighting & Late Game

This is the time in the game where Akali is truly something to be feared if she has only the slightest lead the can 1v1 almost any champion and win but thats not what you should be doing at this point in the game. Your goal is to follow up on a good engage by somebody on your team and immediately dive the back line and kill the AD carry or the AP carry with the same combo you would use in lane or if you're sure you can kill somebody easy you can skip the first Mark of the Assassin and Shadow Dance on a priority target right away. Make sure to use Zhonya's Hourglass during these fights you'll need it. Or if it is a close game and your having trouble killing those targets right away in fights you could sit on the side of the fight after the engage and wait a little bit for the enemy team to use up some of their more damaging abilities usually their ults. This way they might be more distracted and not expect you to come in much later in the fight snd wipe them all out when they are half HP or less. Continue to use this method to win fights and take objectives. The late game objective priority is as follows: Inhibitor>Baron>Dragon>Tower

Conclusion

Thank You for reading my guide and I know it isn't too in depth but I decided to just cover the basics since the season is coming to an end very soon I will update this during the preseason and during season 5 as the meta shifts. I will add Match Ups and more in depth sections with pictures if people are interested and please feel free to comment on how my guide helped you if it did or did not and what you think would make it better.
