General Info

General Info

This is my first build (so be gentle) of many I plan on creating. As I receive feedback on this build as well as personal experience with the champion, I will tweak the build until it is in my eyes, complete. Be sure to check back at a later times to see if any edits have happened with the build. There is a change log at the bottom of this guide if you wish to know all the changes that are happening.

Twitch is attributed as a stealth / range / carry unit. I have often thought of Twitch also as an assassin simply because he can do insane Damage Per Second. Twitch is typically strong at the start, weak towards the middle, and excellent towards the end but this is considered typical behavior of a carry unit.

In many players eyes Twitch is a force to be reckoned with. Twitch has a reputation for being one of the most irritating champions to have to verse simply because of his ability to out power many situations.

Masteries

Masteries

Offense Mastery Tree

space
Tier 1: We want to put 3 points in Brute Force as it benefits Twitch more than Mental Force . The 4th point we want to put into Mental Force as we need it to proceed down the mastery tree.

Tier 2: We want to put 4 points in Alacrity as attack speed is one of our focus' for Twitch. This is the only mastery you want points in for this tier.

Tier 3: We want 4 points in Deadliness as this increases critical strike chance which is a focus point for twitch. Next we want 1 point in Weapon Expertise as this will allow Twitch to do more damage to highly armored units such as tanks. Last in this tier we want 1 point in Arcane Knowledge which will allow us to do more damage against units protecting themselves against Twitch's Expunge. Now this mastery is quite amazing, it works well early on especially with our Doran's Ring.

Tier 4: We want 1 point in Lethality . This will give us a much needed critical strike damage increase for Twitch. Then we want 3 points in Vampirism as this will Twitch rejuvenate health in battle.

Tier 5: At this tier we want to take 3 points in Sunder . This will give Twitch more armor penetration making him even more effective against armored units.

Tier 6: Last but not least, we want to take the 1 point in Executioner . This will make Twitch's attacks even more deadly after the enemies health dips below 40%.

Defense Mastery Tree

space
Tier 1: The 1st point we want to apply is to the mastery, Summoner's Resolve . This improves the functionality of the recommended summoner skill, Heal. Next we want 3 points in Resistance as this will protect us from magic attacks. Twitch has zero magic resist base so this will help even out those base attacks. Next we want to take another 3 points and put them in Hardiness . This will give Twitch much needed armor as Twitch is considered a "Squishy" champion.

Tier 2: At this point you should only have 1 point remaining. I put it in the mastery Durability however if you find a home for this one last mastery, be my guest. The last point isn't as important as the ones before this point.

Runes

Runes

Greater Quintessence of Critical Damage x3: I focus on twitch's critical strike damage as one of his attributes. This quintessence allows for greater critical damage allowing for stronger critical hits.

Greater Mark of Critical Chance x4: I focus on twitch's critical strike chance as one of his attributes as well. This mark gives twitch more of a critical chance increasing the amount of critical he performs per x amount of attacks.

Greater Mark of Critical Damage x5: I focus on twitch's critical strike damage as one of his attributes. This mark gives twitch increase critical damage allowing for higher critical to be hit.

Greater Glyph of Critical Chance x4: I focus on twitch's critical strike chance as one of his attributes as well. This glyph gives twitch more of a critical chance increasing the amount of critical he performs per x amount of attacks.

Greater Glyph of Critical Damage x5: I focus on twitch's critical strike damage as one of his attributes. This glyph gives twitch increase critical damage allowing for higher critical to be hit.

Greater Seal of Critical Chance x4: I focus on twitch's critical strike chance as one of his attributes as well. This glyph gives twitch more of a critical chance increasing the amount of critical he performs per x amount of attacks.

Greater Seal of Critical Damage x5: I focus on twitch's critical strike damage as one of his attributes. This glyph gives twitch increase critical damage allowing for higher critical to be hit.

I know this rune build can seem a bit redundant however I assure you this is one of the best ways to build twitches runes (of course in my opinion) for the build that has been provided.

Viable / Non-Viable Summoner Spells

Viable Summoner Spells

Heal
Heals Self and Allied Champions
(Recommended) I suggest the spell Heal simply because because of Twitch's squishy nature. Having an immediate form of health regeneration (other than potions) can be extremely useful in many different situations.

Flash
Teleports Self A Set Distance
(Recommended) Flash is a good spell for Twitch especially considering how squishy he is. Flash grants you the ability to teleport through some walls (excellent escape routes), teleport away from the enemy if you are weak, or even teleport towards the enemy if they are getting away.

Surge
Increases Attack Speed and Ability Power
Some people prefer to use Surge instead of Heal. Twitch has an incredible damage per second ratio allowing him to get the job done fast. Surge increases his already high attack rate making him more lethal. Surge is often used by players that like to perform stealth ganks.

Revive
Immediately Revives Your Champion At The Summoner Platform
Revive is a great skill especially for unique situations (I.E. Enemy champs are about to destroy an inhibitor and your dead). From a personal standpoint, I don't like the skill however it does not conflict with Twitch's style of gameplay.

Non-Viable Summoner Spells

Exhaust
Exhaust Target Champion
Exhaust's primary use is to slow enemy movement. Well Twitch has the skill Venom Cask which slows enemy movement as well. Logically speaking, Exhaust has no real use with Twitch and therefor I deem a Non-Viable Summoner Spell.

Ghost
Movement Speed Increases and Ignore Unit Collision
Ghost's primary function is to allow a champion to escape from a bad situation. It does so by increasing the champions movement speed and allows them to ignore unit collision. This skill can be benifitial in certain situations. However Twitch has the skill Ambush allowing him to go invisible rather fast. This makes the need for an escape spell minimal and therefor I deem this summoner skill a Non-Viable Summoner Spell.

Ignite
Deals True Damage Based On Level
Ignite is a skill for champions that don't always have the ability to make the fatal move. This summoner skill allows those type of champions to perform that fatal blow needed for a kill. Twitch however has a passive called Deadly Venom that deals damage over time. This makes getting the fatal blow relativity simple as the passive does a lot of damage. Due to Twitch's passive, I see no use for Ignite and therefor I deem the skill as a Non-Viable Summoner Spell.

The other remaining summoner spells ( Clairvoyance, Promote, Clarity, Teleport, and Cleanse) neither help nor conflict with Twitch's playing style. These skills can be used but are not suggested as they are not part of the dynamic that is Twitch.

Ability Explaination

Ability Explanation

Deadly Venom
Stacks poison up too six times and lasts for up to six seconds
Twitch's attacks infect the target with Deadly Venom, which deals damage each second, stacks up to 6 times, and lasts up to 6 seconds.

Ambush
Twitch hides in the shadows, waiting for a nearby enemy. If he attacks, he will gain bonus attack speed.
After 1.25 seconds, Twitch becomes stealthed for 10/20/30/40/50 seconds. If Twitch attacks a unit while Stealthed, he gains 30/40/50/60/70% attack speed for up to 10 seconds, depending on how long he was stealthed before attacking. Cost - 60 Mana | Range - 20

Debilitating Poison
Infects all nearby champions with Debilitating Poison, slowing their movement speed.
Slows nearby enemy champions' move speed by 30%, plus 6% per Deadly Venom they have. 2/2.6/3.2/3.8/4.4 second duration. Cost - 80 Mana | Range - 1200

ExpungeExpunge
All nearby enemies secrete Twitch's toxic venoms from their bodies, dealing damage for each stack.
Deals 30/60/90/120/150 (+1) magic damage to each nearby poisoned enemy, plus 20/30/40/50/60 additional damage per stack of Deadly Venom applied to them. Cost - 90 Mana | Range - 1200

Spray and Pray
Twitch closes his eyes and fires his crossbow, spraying powerful piercing arrows ahead of him.
Twitch's attacks become long range, passing through units, and he gains 15/25/35 Attack Damage. Lasts 12 seconds or 5/6/7 attacks. Cost - 150 Mana | Range - 1200

Ability Sequence

Ability Sequence Order

--- --- Expunge ---

So as you see the first ability I max is expunge. Expunge is Twitch's strongest and most damaging skill. It works with his passive to perform extra damage per stack. Once Expunge is maxed, I go for Ambush. Ambush is Twitch's next best ability. It allows him to go into stealth mode for up too 50 seconds and increases his attack speed. The next skill we max is Debilitating Poison. The reason why we max this last is because it isn't used as much as the other two using this champion build. Of course during all this we want to add points in Spray and Pray as it becomes available.

Items

Items

Ive selected these Items simply because I feel like they support the type of Twitch we are trying to build. The items above give us the Attack Speed, Life Steal, Mana, Health, Defense, and Attack Strength Twitch needs in order to do maximum damage and stay in the fight longer.

Farming / Teamwork

Farming/Jungling

Twitch is not a good jungler until later levels. It is recommended you farm a lane's minions while keeping a healthy distance between you and the enemy champions. If you really want to jungle, you can add about 3 health potions to the champions item build and start jungling at about level 6 - 8.

Teamfights

In a team fight, Twitch typically plays the role of ganker or ranged attacker. Let me describe what I mean in more detail. Twitch can gank because he has the ability to go into stealth mode. This allows him to sneak right through the enemy and attack them on their escape route. Twitch can also be a ranged attacker by using his ultimate Spray and Pray. This allows Twitch to add stacks of poison to the enemy champions while maintaining a reasonable distance so you do not become the victim.

Player Vs. Player Tactic

PvP Tactic

VIDEO COMING SOON!

When I play as Twitch, I tend to rely on my teammates to get me going. Because Twitch is a carry unit you do not want to be overly aggressive and feed the entire enemy team. The best thing to do is either stand behind your line of minions or your allied champions and do damage from afar. One you are about level 12 - 14, you start dealing the Twitch damage we know and love.

Don't be shy about using your stealth. Ambush hides you for a certain amount of time and when you leave ambush your attack speed increases. This can be a very handy skill. Ambush has gotten me out of many situations and if used properly can be the edge in a fight. Try to coordinate ganks with your teammates using ambush. Twitch can also double as a scout to set up ganks which can be a huge edge against the enemy team.

Expunge will be your main damage skill in a PvP match. Try getting 5 stacks of deadly venom on your enemy before using so you cause maximum damage. Although this skill is ability power dependent, trust me when I say this build is perfect for Twitch.

Debilitating poison is self explanatory. Try to save it in situations where the enemy champion is almost dead and is fleeing. Another good time for it is when you are trying to run away. Just be warned it does take a second to activate so use it at your discretion.

Finally we come to Spray and Pray. This is Twitch's ultimate and what an ultimate it is. This ultimate gives Twitch insane range with his crossbow and fires through multiple enemies. His ultimate covers his basic attack allowing you too attack turrets completely out of the turrets range of attack. This can be handy for situations where Twitch is without a minion.

The Story of Twitch

The Lore

The city-state of Zaun is a twisted realm of science, mercantilism, and magic run amok. While the young science of techmaturgy does much to advance civilization, its research and use in Zaun pushes the boundaries of morality on a daily basis. Zaun, choked with pollution from the countless factories and laboratories that spew waste into the environment, suffers greatly. As polluted as Zaun is above-ground, its subterranean levels are far worse. All of Zaun's runoff waste pooled together in its sewers, mixing into a toxic and mysterious concoction. A single plague rat rose from this alchemical nightmare - Twitch. Unlike his lesser evolved cousins, Twitch became as sentient as anyone else... provided they were as insane as he. A seeming byproduct of the evolutionary brew that spawned him was maniacal insanity, albeit in a functional form.

Twitch came to the League of Legends to represent himself ''as the only one of his kind'' on the Fields of Justice. Since then, he has found a generous benefactor in the city that gave him his evolutionary sentience - Zaun. Twitch is one of Zaun's premier champions in the League, and as such he fights for Zaun when political disputes between Valoran's city-states arise. Twitch has publically stated that his goal is to gain enough influence and materiel from his work in the League to try to recreate the process by which he gained his sentience. While many challenges lie ahead in his quest - one of the largest being his own insanity - were he to succeed, it would mean a bold and brazen step forward in the evolution of all of Runeterra. Zaun has pledged its support for Twitch in his quest, though it remains to be seen what Zaun's ulterior motives are in the matter.

''The existence of Twitch proves that anything is possible on Runeterra.''
