This is my first guide so be gentle =/. Im here to hopefully give you guys some insight as to how I personally play Leona. Shes an incredible champion that is defiantly worth the riot/ip points if you decide you want to try out a tank. Enjoy =D
Pros / Cons
**** Blocks Karthus with Eclipse! (most of the time)

Stuns the living **** out of everyone (gotta love escaping with 10 health =D)
Defining team moments that allow you to stand out amongst others

Last hitting minions can be kinda tricky.
Must be paired with a dps laner to help finish off enemy champions
Leona's abilities mark the target with sunlight. Allied champions that damage marked targets deal additional damage and consume the mark.
This passive is incredible for team fights and just reinforces her power as a team fighter. This can seriously add up when Annie drops her bear or Corki unloads his ult. The fact that this can be applied to every enemy champion she touches is enough to give anyone a royal stiffy.
Leona charges her shield with the power of the sun causing her next melee attack to deal additional damage and briefly stun the target.
This is what makes Leona super ****ing annoying. I always max this out first due to the fact that early game u can pick off ******ed opponents that love to get too close to your tower. At level 8 it becomes maxed at 2 seconds which really can make the difference between a run away and a kill. Also, dont be afraid to use this defensively. If you have someone chasing you or someone chasing your teammate just turn around stun em n walk away. You'd be surprised how much distance you can cover with a flash and 2 seconds of speed.
Leona raises her shield granting her additional Armor and Magic Resistance for 3 seconds. When the effect ends she deals area of effect damage and increases the duration of the defensive bonuses by 3 seconds if she damages an enemy.
This skill is good for smothering people with your passive. You get an awesome defensive bonus and it auto reapplies when hit an enemy champion OR minion. During team fights you should have about 6 full seconds of shield time which really help you survive initial blows to the face as well as land some killing blows when the shield falls off.
Leona throws a blade of sunlight that deals damage to all enemies in a line. Leona teleports to the last enemy champion hit by this attack.
Its smart to put at least one point in Z.Blade at level too to help give you a good stun combo with Shield of Daybreak when harassing at early game. Keep in mind this will teleport you to the last champion it hits in a row. Using this offensively by reaching and stun locking the enemy support or carry dps and helping your burst teammates burn them down as quickly as possible, as well as using this defensively by running up a ramp and using it to hit the last enemy champion chasing you to alter the direction of the chase entirely. Mixing this with flash can serious mind **** your opponents.
After a brief delay, Leona calls down a beam of solar energy dealing damage and slowing enemies. Enemies in the center of the beam are stunned instead of slowed.
This skill right here is what boobs are to boys, a stun/slow in one spell ahhhomfgwtfhax!! I typically open team fights with this spell when enemies are clumped up. Try to aim the inner part of your spell directly on them to get the stun, then follow up any left over enemy champions that missed the core of the hit with Shield of Daybreak. Again this can also be used defensively by denying the other team an ace or even getting your team to safety from a counter gank.
Let me clarify something to people who do not understand how team work is done right. Just because your a tank doesn't give you the right to jump into the middle of the enemy team and then die and ***** at your team for not "helping" you out when they are half way across the map... If you are one of those people just uninstall. The object of Leona and tanking in general is to break the ice in terms of team initiation. For example, If you see them at the tower with your team behind you, open up with a Solar and try to have a buddy or 2 focus down your stun target. Keep Z.Blade available during chases and or escapes. Also don't be afraid to body block enemies by tossing on Eclipse and throwing stuns around whenever you can. Aside from team fights, its also your job to peel away enemies from valuable allies. This will give you serious brownie points from your team mates as well as them putting confidence in you being a good tank =)
Ok as everyone should know, item builds are ALWAYS subject to change depending on the enemy team. I usually start off with the basic + . If you feel yourself running dry out of mana your either spamming your spells too much or you just need to upgrade to a Philosopher's Stone Finishing off with
During mid game it really depends how the enemy team is built and how hard they are hurting. Obvious if they are AD is a good item to get after Aegis If things are going smooth then proceed to build your and then for that extra slow effect.
End game items can vary as i said before with how the enemy builds end up. Again, stating the obvious once more, if the other team is magic heavy build up the and maybe even Guardians Angel if they are hammering that hard. If you feel confident in your team and ***** just on cruise control try and reinforce that passive by getting a
All in all Leona I believe is a fun character to play, if you love stunning and playing a lock down hero this is serious a character to try out.
