Leona Build Guide by Age Awkward

It depends on who you are laning with. A sheen adds amazing damage to your lane and can get your laner many kills. I often find that tankiness is wasted on Leona because she is normally last priority for focus.

I tryed this build the other night. Its freakin awsome. Makes you unkillable. Im considering to try it on Sejuani aswell, I can see it work on her. Thank you

I have some questions about your Lane Partners section.

First Question. Vayne is a decent carry but how does she manage to hit all of the sunlight procs with no AoE or attack speed boosts? Sure she could easily proc Sunlight on a single target but what if it is more than one target like an entire minion wave that were caught by Zenith Blade or Eclipse? Plus you mention Leona's crowd control can help Vayne line up Condemn. How? Unless the enemy is dumb enough to stand near a wall and get stunned so Vayne can line up the shot, you would have no problem, but most people aren't that dumb so lining up Condemn would only work a little more often then without Leona. This would also invalidate your statement of stun locking Soraka because A. you would have to make sure you don't get silenced, and B. she would have to be near a wall to even get stunned by Vayne. If you want a good tank/support to go with Vayne you should look at champs that can take the carry out of a good position so you can take them or line up a Condemn where as Leona fights at where ever the carry is not where you want them. ( Alistar with his Pulverise then Headbutt to move the carry away from the support or Blitzcrank who can Rocket Grab the carry away from the support).

Second Question. Ashe does have her ult that can stun, and her Volley can easily proc multiple Sunlights. However your idea that it's all about stun locking would be severely limited to cool downs for both of you and only when Ashe is past level 6. Also last I checked carries that follow the traditional carry build only get Cool down Reduction if the support grabs Soul Shroud so the cool down problem would still be there even when Leona gets her 40% from Zeke's Herald, Shurelya's Reverie, Randuin's Omen and finally Enlightenment . However she does have a relatively bad escape (slow them with Frost Shot and run away or Flash).

Third Question. You talk about how a lot of carries in your opinion are no good for Leona because they can do better with a different support. This makes no sense to me, That's like saying I'm driving a car, but I handle driving a truck better so I shouldn't drive a car. Plus you are trying to look at who is best for Leona to lane with not who is best for "Insert Carry Name Here" to lane with. For example you should be looking for a few things in a carry such as "How reliable are they for being able to proc Sunlight on one or more targets?", "How is their burst damage?/Can they deal lots of damage in the short amount of time I have someone CC'ed?", and finally "How is their survivalability?/Can they survive the agressive style that I Leona bring to the table? (Are they able to take the fight to where ever it occurs not require moving them to a better position?)"

Some examples are:

You say Miss Fortune is a bad pick because of her lack of disables and the only reason would be the incredible damage. That sounds like an absolutely good pick to me, for a few good reasons. 1, You playing as Leona would provide the disables while MF(Miss Fortune) can deal damage without worries. 2, MF has Impure Shots to reduce healing received on targets, this can pair up very well with Leona's CC if the enemy support heals. Either they will be stunned and can't do anything or they can't do their job and keep the enemy carry healed easily due to the reduced healing received. 3, Sure MF's Bullet Time won't do as much damage as her auto attacks on one target, but if you get the entire enemy team with Solar Flare because of the stun/slow, she could get large amounts of damage out on the whole team.

You say there should be no reason to do a Graves + Leona lane. This is not so, Graves can get a lot of uses out of Leona's CC. For example a stun can let Graves get off a Buckshot worry free or let him get a good burst of damage from Quickdraw then auto attacks. Also Graves has a really nice attack speed boost in Quickdraw he can easily proc Sunlight on an entire minion wave or other situations where Sunlight is on a lot of targets.

Finally Sivir could be one of the better carries to lane with Leona because of her easy ability to push a lane and be aggressive like Leona. Sivir can shrug off a disable or huge ability based damage champs like Graves, Ezreal, Tristana and get mana back because of Spell Shield, and she is one of the few that can pretty much guarantee to proc every Sunlight thanks to her Boomerang Blade and Ricochet abilities. On a last note Sivir's ult On The Hunt allows her to help boost Leona's attack speed so she can help dish out some damage along with Sivir. (I know tanks aren't meant to one-shot stuff but they should hurt more than poking an anvil with a toothpick)

Other than that the guide looks pretty good but I would recommend Heal as an alternative, that way Leona can also offer some sustain while laning so you carry can take Ignite and Flash. Also if you think that Heal is a bad idea give reasonable explanations. Right now saying that Heal is a "absurd" sounds a little childish.

I'm going to rewrite that section soon to add in Draven, I'll try to take into account what you said be remember, some AD carries are more common than others. I rarely get a chance to try a MF or Sivir in lane. At least not good ones and so Vayne and Ashe I've had more success with. In response to your third question, I don't think the AD carry should pick based on the support and rather the support should pick based on the AD carry. I don't normally pick Leona unless everyone else said they wont support or I know which AD carry I'm laning with.

Also, I would prefer to take ignite and let the carry take heal since the heal would only heal for 50%.
