Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Leona, The radiant dawn is a new tank fresh from riots ever growing bundle of champions. I have played her for the past couple days as well as alongside her and against her, and i have noticed that almost everyone i see play with her is awful, so i decided to make a build for her. I am currently working on getting some pictures in the guide. I just recently learned how so give me some time.
Pros / Cons
Variety of stuns and slows Shield of Daybreak, Solar Flare
Armor buff Eclipse
Gap closing skill Zenith Blade
Somewhat Limited by cooldowns
ability power skills :( (just because)
Farming is one of Leona's rough patches. I find it difficult to farm minions early game, but that's just me. One solution to this is using your Eclipse to kill multiple minions at a time, but that causes mana to deplete very quickly. Other than this, im sorta lost on the farming thing, and im still trying to figure something out, so give me some time :).
Runes are simple, flat defense Greater Mark of Armor, Greater Seal of Armor, Greater Quintessence of Armor and magic resist Greater Mark of Magic Resist, Greater Glyph of Magic Resist, Greater Quintessence of Magic Resist for incredible early game survivability. This should allow some easy early game kills for your lane, so be aggressive, but smart of course. This is the reasoning that i didn't go for armor or magic res. per lvl runes. Health isn't an option for me because i simply don't think the runes give a sufficient amount of it.
Masteries are to build more tankiness for leona along with some hp regen and other utility, while also putting one into Exhaust and Ghost since that's what I use for this champion, you however may use whatever your comfortable with.
I choose Ghost and Exhaust for multiple reasons. First and foremost, i am most comfortable with these spells. Secondly, Exhaust works wonders in all situations, making it difficult to escape for enemy champions or crushing their damage output if needed. Take tryndamere for example, everyone knows he's a b**** once his Undying Rage is toggled, and his damage output is insane, so Exhaust him in team fights once that happens to remove him as a threat until his ultimate times out. Or if the enemy dives under your tower for a kill, Exhaust them to decrease damage output to help you survive, and also slow them allowing the turret to get more hits in on the champion. Ghost is also used in multiple ways, to escape and to catch up to enemies. Fairly self explanatory.
alright alot of people may disagree with me on this part, but the sequence I TRY to use my skills in when playing leona is Zenith Blade/ Eclipse/ Shield of Daybreak. THE REASON IS we are going to be getting a Trinity Force. I know alot of you are thinking you should pop Eclipse before you dash with Zenith Blade to run the time down a little bit, but if you do that you just wasted your bonus damage on your Eclipse from Trinity Force. So in short this is to maximize damage output. I realize that this will not always be best in every situation, so don't follow this religiously, do it whenever possible however. your ultimate Solar Flare should be used whenever necessary. Preferably when it's possible to stun multiple targets at one time. It can also be used to stop enemies from escaping, if used well. (which i rarely see for some reason)
To help add a little magic resistance in early game play. If your enemy team is majority attack damage, get the Cloth Armor towards Aegis of the Legion instead.
To aid you in laning for a longer period of time
For that extra movement speed that you always need
Great early game addition of health and resistances, while also aiding your team with its aura. Don't skip this.
Adds some bonus health while increasing your damage output with a nice passive as well. The price is right. This is required for Trinity Force.
Greatly increases your attack damage while also increasing armor. Great item to have. NEEDED for this build.
Groundbreaking item that increases your burst and continuous damage by tons. This is required for trinity force.
The game changer. This beast gives you everything you need to dump on ppl's faces. This is a must. Get ready to pwn babies.
Gives you a little hp to increase your attack damage(from your Atma's Impaler) and a great boost in magic resist while blocking spells when needed. Awesome passive.
A big boost in armor and magic resist to close the show, and it brings you back to life!!! Why not.
Tanky build with some serious damage output, however, this build WILL NOT make you a good player. If you suck, dont blame the build, if your good however and the build sucks... than blame the build :). Guardian Angel is the only variable item that i have in this build(in my opinion). This means that you can get a different item instead if your situation calls for one. Other than that, i suggest leaving the other items as is. Leave comments and rate it plz, feedback is much appreciated.
