I also want to say that I an not a pro, and have not been plazing trundle for a long time yet. My experience grows by day and I want you to understand that before reading on. If you see any problems please tell me, and it will help my build get better. If you don't understand why I took a specific item, please read the item section first. Sorry for not making this look very appealing to the eye, but as said, I am new here and just want to make a build for those people who don't feel comfortable playing with the other builds that are posted. Hey guys! Just a little intro before I explain my choices.:) First of all, Trundle is a very GOOD champ, I actually don't know why he is this underplayed, maybe because of the way he looks... Oh well, we'll just have to club those ignorants in da face :D. This guide was just built for fun, to help some people who don't feel comfortable with having to deal with the troll alone:) Hope you enjoy and appreciate! :D Leave constructive feedback to help enhance this build and your future gameplay. :D --- Dont't forget to do some clubbing!;) ---
Normal Build Vs. a balanced team
---> With the new update, most junglers will start of with a Hunter's Machete. Alongside it take 5 Health Potion. Standard for most jungle builds.
---> Next I take Boots of Speed, as it is essential for early ganks. I then rush Wriggle's Lantern. It helps increase AD to kill neutral monsters and Armor to stop them from dealing so much damage to you. Also great life steal to help you survive and regenerate in the jungle. Don't forget to use your ward effectively!
---> Frozen Mallet is essential, as it gives Trundle everything he needs early game. A must do. Passive is great for catching up with enemies.
---> Boots of Mobility is absolutely awesome for getting around the jungle quickly, and also great for a quick gank. Take Ninja Tabi against AD champs and Mercury's Treads against strong AP and lots of enemy stuns, slows, silences, blinds, etc. I take Enchantment: Alacrity with the boots to increase movement speed and even better ganks.
---> Blade of the Ruined King is a great new item, and is often used because of its effectiveness. Great active and AS, including life steal and damage. Great!
---> Spirit Visage is for the lacking MR so far, and has nice cooldown reductions which can be used effectively for all spells.
---> Ravenous Hydra is new with the S3 changes, so why not try it out? :) It has a nice amount of health regeneration, life steal, AD, and the passive/Active is really nice for team fights and jungling :). You could also try the Guinsoo's Rageblade, which has AP (for increased Agony damage and AS. You could also try Banner of Command, which has some interesting actives and passives ;).
Vs. AD or AP Just stack more Armor or magic resist, pretty much it. Most items put together have about the same effect as with the normal build.
Pros / Cons
- Agony Is GREAT to use against an opposing Tank
- Rabid Bite Is so fun to spam and cool to watch the enemy champ's health go down, and down, and down :D
- Nice sustain and life steal abilities
- Great escape and chase with Pillar of Filth and Contaminate
- Contaminate has a CRAZY AS boost!
- Hardly anyone knows what to expect from a Trundle, they think he sucks :D make that your advantage!
- Pillar of filth is difficult to use correctly
- You need good players on your team
- Rabid Bite doesn't do so much damage late game
- Ulti requires some getting used to. Don't look at it as a massive damage maker, look at it as an insane heal and weakening of your target.
Trundle's Troll Spells
Passive: Decompose - Whenever an enemy unit near Trundle dies, he heals for a percent of their maximum health.
Rabid Bite - Trundle bites his opponent instead of attacking for his next standard attack, dealing 30/45/60/75/90 (+0.8/0.9/1.0/1.1/1.2) physical damage. This attack increases Trundle's Attack Damage by 20/25/30/35/40 for 8 seconds, with his opponent losing half of this amount.
Contaminate - Trundle affects target location with his curse for 8 seconds, gaining 20/25/30/35/40% Movement Speed, 20/30/40/50/60% Attack Speed and 20/25/30/35/40% Crowd Control Reduction while on it. - Requires clever thinking on where to position it.
Pillar of Filth - Trundle creates a plagued beacon at target location, becoming impassable terrain and slowing all nearby enemy units by 25/30/35/40/45%. - Requires intense thinking capabilities to use this right! ;)
Ulti: Agony - Trundle immediately drains a target of 100/175/250 (+0.6) Health and 15/20/25% of their Armor and Magic Resist, and then drains them again for the total of these amounts over the next 6 seconds. Trundle gains these stats for himself while the target is being drained.
I start off with Rabid Bite at
, as it's the damage maker for Trundle and has a nice life steal to it :) Max it as soon as possible!
Next I take Contaminate, which allows me to jungle faster and chase or escape. Max this second.
Notice how I don't go for Pillar of Filth next, because I don't need it yet to kill the last few minions. If everything goes well and following the plan, you should be able to get to level 4 in time for some ganks. Max Pillar of Filth last. There is no need to max it earlier because there is no difference to to spell, except that the cooldown is reduced.
I think that's it :)
Ghost really goes great with Contaminate, and you'll be able to catch up or escape almost any enemy champ. I take this over Flash because that doesnt really help a Trundle in the fight. Trundle has enough natural escape spells and really does not need a Flash.
Smite is an obvious jungler item. If you think you can do without, I would take Teleport, as that can be really useful for ganks from behind when it's combined with a ward.
