Shaco is a perfect dominion champion. He is fast, deals magic damage and can ambush and gank like a pro.

If shaco is placed on a point, say bottom point, that point is his. He owns it. Nobody is to touch, to come near it and later in game not even around it`s jungle. This gives your team the great advantage of being able to send 4 guys to top, increasing your chance to get first 3 points and dig in.

Late game Shaco becomes one if the biggest champion nukers in the game. With an AP/AD hybrid build he can nuke off over 50% of any champions max HP with 1 spell.

Champion spotlight

I have looked for the real champion spotlight, but there is none available. So i looked for the best amateur one on youtube and i found one that at least shows a bit what ap shaco is about. It is on classic map and it shows a lot of stuff that you don`t care about i dominion, but try to look beyond that and see how he uses his spells and traps.

To give you a better idea of how to play shaco, i will go into more detail on thi in my guide than i`m used to, so sorry guys, no fun video but just plain old reading if you want to know more about him.

The build i have posted up here is just the basic hybrid mage build that is good for any hybrid mage. Shaco can build some CD reduction items as well, instea of say rylais and gunblade, if you want to max out your jack traps. If you want to go into more pvp combat, i recommand using these though, for extra damage, lifesteal and slow will get you the kills faster and safer.

Morello`s evil tome: cheap, cd red and ap: nice fast damage and more jitb.
Rabadons and lich bane, damage damage damage. 3 traps = enemy dead.

Rest is better pvp melee combat.

Skill Sequence

Max out jack in the boxes first. Than skill the thrown dagger as much as possible. The stealth is all you need from your Q and the diversion from your ult as well. So these are on low priority after you have skilled them once.

Summoner Spells

ghost and Garrison make shaco the perfect dodgy tower defender. With a few boxes around a point, with garrison and AP items he will kill any incoming champion(s). The ghost will give you extra dodgy movement, which will confuse enemies and constantly underestimate the length from which you can jump on them. Q + ghost + dagger = a slowed and vulnerable enemy.

late game these two spells can also be of good use, place 3-4 jacks at a point and than start jungling. When your point is under attack, go back to defend it and regenerate it with your garrison. the ghot and Q often get you back in time and the Garrison will increase the advantage of being at your point, plus it will make sure it isn`t easily ninjad by a second enemy.

Champion abilities

Innate): Shaco deals 20% bonus damage when striking a unit from behind with his autoattacks or abilities.

Deceive: (Q)
(Active): Shaco instantly stealths for 3.5 seconds, blinking to a target nearby location and removing any slow effect. If he uses an autoattack while stealthed, the attack is guaranteed to deal increased damage. ■Cooldown: 11 seconds after stealth fades
Range: 500
Cost: 90 / 80 / 70 / 60 / 50 mana
Increased Damage: 40 / 60 / 80 / 100 / 120 %
(notice, combined with Lich bane, at 500 AP you deal 220% damage, your Lich bane gives you a 500+ bonus. Increased with over 100 damage if you took hextech gunblade. Well, you do the math)

Jack In The Box: (W)
(Active): Shaco creates a Jack in the Box at the target location with 150 health. It will stealth after 2 seconds and trigger when an enemy comes near, fearing nearby enemies for a few seconds and attacking them. It deals magic damage, and lasts 90 seconds stealthed or 5 seconds while firing. Casting Jack In The Box breaks stealth. ■Cooldown: 16 seconds
Range: 400
Trigger Range: 325
Sight Range: 700 (estimate)
Jack in the Box attack speed: 1.359
Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 mana
Fear Duration: 0.5 / 0.75 / 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 seconds
Magic Damage: 35 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 (+0.25 per ability power)
(Notice, with 500 AP that`s at least 200 damage per hit from 1 box. Place 3 boxes at one point, that`s 600 damage every 1,359 seconds. Fear is already 1,5 seconds so at least 2 hits are guaranteed, which makes for 1200 damage. This is minimum damage done!)

Two-Shiv Poison
(Passive): Shaco's attacks debilitate his targets, reducing their movement speed for 2 seconds. It also causes the minions hit to miss their attacks.
Slow: 20 / 22.5 / 25 / 27.5 / 30 %

(Active): Shaco throws a dagger to target enemy dealing magic damage and applying his slowing poison to them for 3 seconds. The passive is deactivated during the cooldown. Cooldown: 8 seconds
Range: 625
Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 mana
Magic Damage: 40 / 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 (+1.0 per ability power) (+0.5 per attack damage)
(notice, 700 damage with 500 AP. Combined with the jack in the box trap...)

(Active): Shaco creates an illusion of himself nearby which deals 25% less damage and receives 50% extra damage. This illusion deals half damage to towers and inhibitors. On death the illusion explodes dealing damage to nearby enemies. Lasts up to 18 seconds. Using this removes any slow effect. ■Cost: 100 mana
AoE radius: 250
Leash radius: 1125
Cooldown: 100 / 90 / 80 seconds
Magic Damage: 300 / 450 / 600 (+1.0 per ability power)
(notice, well placed explosion deals 1000 damage at 500 AP. Sadly, enemies often notice your clone being your clone, so it is hard to land it. But when you land it, in between a group of enemies, it will pay off)

At start, 2 people often push at bottom. Shaco can handle them. Just let the waves come, harass the enemy with dagger and flash attacks so they cant cap the point. Fortify the point when it is over 2/3 destroyed. Your jack in the boxes, if placed properly, will have damaged the champions that attacked you, plus made you some minion kills for extra gold. Once this wave is over you can start hunting down the enemy champions that are now probably over half dead, if not shot down by the point itself already.

This is your main thing. Ambush enemies at or around a point. don`t always place the boxes at the same place, for the enemy will avoid them and you will lose the strong advantage. When nobody is attacking and you have one or two on your point, place some around the entry points as well.
