Shen is a full on tank always if you can innitiate start with your sheild then run in and taunt all of them. Most people have issues with Shen beacuse they get stuned or silence and they cant pull of there sheild. also a HUGE facotor in teem fights is using your vorporal blade on the correct opponent if ou us it on somone that is not being hit you will not heal as the ability is made for, this ability has the capability to keep you alive for more time if you select the right target. There is not a real way to chose a right target without having your team focus one person so always pin the one you are going to use vorporal blade.
