Hey. Is your Kill/Zone lane section in adapting to your AD carry updated? Just wondering as not sure what '1/8/21' is. Nearly all builds are at least 9 if any to get the +30 HP. Can you explain what your masteries are?

Thanks for the reminders, I am experimenting with changes a lot, and I ll update my guide very soon.

After a quick perusal, this is the best Lux guide I've seen lately, BUT, you do have some outdated or otherwise bad information.
What jumped out to me was in the analysis of summoner spells (with Clarity and Heal being rejected because of their FORMER reduced effects to allies; this is no longer true) and in your item build suggestions, with various outdated numbers scattered throughout

You should update the guide.
You have outdated items in the description of champion statistic.

Hi there! You requested a review from me in my review shop a long time ago and I completely missed it. ;_;

Support Lux is a very early game zone control support. While a mastery like Arcane Knowledge gives you scaling to do damage during later phases of the game to tankier characters, it does very little in lane when the enemy AD carry starts with 30 magic res. It'll reduce their magic res by 10% (down to 27). Using Greater Mark of Magic Penetration is more effective as it will reduce their magic res to 21.5.

Additionally, not going 9 in offense allows you to pick up very useful low tier defense tree masteries. You lose armor by not using Greater Mark of Armor, but you can get more health (less likely to be bursted from either magic or physical damage). I would also say that Greater Glyph of Scaling Magic Resist is not very effective for laning. Greater Glyph of Magic Resist is better for laning versus other magic pokes (especially at level 6 when people get their ults), and Greater Glyph of Replenishment is better for poking before you can build a Philosopher's Stone.

(I am also of the opinion that going balls deep in the utility tree is not that rewarding compared to the low hanging fruits you can pick up from the defense and offense tree.)

Btw, I think it's good you talk about Lucent Singularity being a one point wonder when playing her as support. Some people who play her as AP might think to max it when playing her as support too.

Your item suggestions look fine. It's unfortunate that AP support itemization doesn't exist in the game, but maybe S3 will make things better. I think you kind of underestimate Aegis of the Legion in your description though. It is a universally good tanky item for anyone/anything/everything, and it's quite affordable for supports since it's under 2000 gold.

Now, your AD carry part. Tristana is kind of iffy because of her strange mid game. Varus is really not "defensive". He can poke, crowd control, and push, and he has 600 range. I think you got a little too specific here. Caitlyn and Urgot can technically be "poke" laners too. Caitlyn or Graves could also be seen as being "pushers" because of their AoEs. "Zoning" can occur even when you are paired with a weaker AD carry. Threatening "pokes" can also create zones that your enemies don't want to go into, etc. Imo, you should remove the item build suggestions from the carry part, as it would be better to build around your team, or based on the enemy lane.

Anyway, that's everything I have to say. The only real content/gameplay in your guide is the AD carry part, and it needs some reworking. It also lacks the latest carry, Draven. Your cheat sheet and build aren't like super bad terrible, but at the same time, pairing up armor marks + Arcane Knowledge + Prismatic Barrier doesn't seem that optimal.

The coding in this guide is so good it's refreshing.
I've actually started playing support lux quite a lot, and it's definitely viable.
Though, most people are thrown off just because you aint a heal bot like some supports (*cough*soraka, sona*cough*).
Her shield is amazing, it can potentially last up to 6 seconds and absorb double the damage, which is really strong.
Also, if you perhaps have a bush warded (lane bushes) and the enemies are not aware of that, you could set up a suprise kill, use your q, throw in a LS to slow them proc passive > pop e>proc passive/ult and let your carry finish them off, what other support has a non target able 2 second snare ? (okay leona and blitz can do this too but it means they have to get in meele range, and that can come out unfavorable :P)
oh also, +1 ^^

Ok, i've to admit that I hate playing as a support. (i really love to play with lux... and see the enemies running away from her xD)
Maybe it's because i didn't know how to...
This guide really helped me, it's easy to understand and well explained.
Thank you for making this guide!

Not to forget: +1 ^^

Well, I tried supporting with Lux a few times, and this guide helped me getting how to. It was really helpful, so +1 at first.

Though, I have a point where I disagree. You mentioned that Lux can skip Clairvoyance, since her spells Lucent Singularity and Finales Funkeln grant Vision. But your missing out the point that she HAS a range of 3000 with her Ultimate, but it is NOT the hole map. And if you are in base, then that's maybe why the enemy team got Baron Nashor or didn't.
Also, Finales Funkeln has a longer cooldown than Clairvoyance at the beginning of the game.
Lucent Singularity may also be great for getting a view into a bush, but its vision is small and the spaming the skill just for vision will make you having no water in your mana pool very fast.

But of course you COULD say: Exhaust is still better. That is the other thing. First let me ask you one thing: Why is Lux able to support, though she has just one real supporting skill?
Answer: It's her CC.
She has a snare and a slow. Without these skills, she would be way too bad for a support, in my opinion. So why do you need Exhaust, another CC, if you already have two? Also, the range is a bit shorter than your skills.
But that wasn't it yet. Just imagine your going to lane with Caitlyn who has Exhaust. Do you now need Exhaust? Definitely not.

I would maybe think about getting Exhaust if my laning partner didnt get it. Otherwise, I'd always prefer Clairvoyance, what is also good for shooting people down with Finales Funkeln, even as a support.

That was it, though, I want to mention that I dont think your guide is bad. I am only complaining about the summoner spells. Your guide was good, in overality. So please dont missunderstand this as just some criticism. Really. Your guide was good. :)

PS: Would be nice to get an answer.... or to see that you change your opinion about Clairvoyance in the guide, even if it is just a bit. :D

In my opinion, Lux's biggest obstacle to supporting is that everything she has are skillshots. A player that can't connect those is useless, even is he has a full build, and that scares people off. But the reverse is also true, as a good Lux will outlane almost everyone. On topic, the guide is quite good, but, as usual with me, I like to complain about there being no matchups. In all seriousness, tho, this explains how to play Lux quite nicely.

Also, I just let the trolls in. Sorry, but it had to be done.

Thanks for the kind words and upvotes. I think the only reason some ppl downvote is that Lux is a pure skillshot based support and if you are unskilled, you just can't support with her unlike all those other click and do your job supports.
I see this as an advantage, makeing the support role more demanding and also rewarding... but seriously, bad skill is not a reson for downvoting. ( "Uhhh..." "Bahh..." "Scrablehooker" )
