In this guide I will present you some tips on how to play Lucian better. I will not make a description of the champion. I will consider that you watched RIOT's video and you know the basic combos and game mechanics. If you missed it watch it below:

Now that we're all on the same page feel free to read my TIPS & TRICKS.

• Lucian has very high mobility thanks to Relentless Pursuit
• High burst because of Lightslinger !!
• Lucian is good at farming.
• Piercing Light is a good poking ability.
• He can check bushes without entering them with Ardent Blaze

• This champion has no CC (crowd-control) spells.
• Lucian has low attack speed.
• It is very hard to land The Culling

Sheen is very important because of the Spellblade effect and mana boost. Lucian can have a great burst damage in early game due to this. Make sure you build it as fast as you can.

Trinity Force will help you with your attack speed and movement bonus. You can upgrade your Sheen, but I recommend doing so after you finish Black Cleaver.

After building a little lifesteal and the Sheen rush into building the cleaver.

Why is Black Cleaver so important?

After every spell Lucian will hit twice because of his passive. This means that with Black Cleaver you will instantly put 2 effects on your enemy. Their armor will be reduced by 10% instead of 5% on your first shot.

If you face tanky enemies make sure you build these two items. I'm going to tell you this as a general tip when you play Leage of Legends .. read carefully what your items do. Some passive abilities can help you more than you can think of.

I've put my first skill point in Relentless Pursuit because it is both an offensive and defensive skill. I think you should be prepared for anything in the beginning of the game. Mobility is key.

And one more thing I can't stress out enough. Lucian is this good of a character because of Lightslinger. For a maximum damage hit the enemy after every spell. I know you want to make huge damage using all of your spells as fast as you can, but for Lucian this is not the case. Keep in mind this very important feature. It is a blessing and a curse. :D

I've chosen to pick 1 rune of Critical Chance because I would trade 1-2 damage for that chance. Think of it, I'm not talking about the end game. I'm talking about the early stages. I know 1 rune is not much, but you can get lucky. Why not take that chance? You might get super lucky and you will land a critical hit with your Sheen and Lightslinger. That would be a nice burst damage.

Greater Mark of Critical Chance

Flash is a spell that offers your champion mobility. Because Lucian has no CC (crowd control) this ability will help you enter and exit a fight. I know it looks redundant because of the Relentless Pursuit, but trust me it makes the difference.

I like to use Teleport so I can get back farming really fast if I went shopping or if I was sent in base due to heavy damage. This skill can also help you make easy kills by teleporting on wards near the other lanes. Most players do not expect this especially if you play Solo/Duo queue.

Many players like to use Barrier instead of Teleport because Lucian is a very fragile champion. It is a good idea. I can't deny. I just prefer not to be caught. Lucian can use Flash and Relentless Pursuit to escape from dangerous situations. Make sure you have visibility. Help your support and ward from time to time. Use your trinket.

Like I mentioned above, Lucian needs his team to slow/stun the enemy. As you will generally go on the bottom lane I would suggest your support to be one of the following:

The story does not put these 2 champions together, but Thresh has some really helpful abilities. The Death Sentence + Flay combo with The Box will set the enemies in place just enough so that Lucian can kill them all.

Leona can help you with the Zenith Blade + Shield of Daybreak and her ultimate Solar Flare. And as a bonus to all the stunning and slowing Leona has Sunlight that will increase the burst damage you will do.

Blitzcrank is one of my favorites helper. His Rocket Grab + Power Fist + Static Field can assure an easy kill almost at any stage of the game.
