Twisted Fate Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
I've always liked Twisted Fate, but lately I've been playing more and more DPS champions. On my quest to make every build I make fancy looking and top notch, I saw that this build, one I had made a long time ago, was lacking. I have revisited Twisted Fate and I now realize his absolute damage potential. I won't make this build as elaborate as my beloved DPS build for Udyr, but I will make it clear as to how I play Twisted Fate.
Twisted Fate's abilities
Twisted Fate and his allies receive an additional 2 gold per kill.
--If you consider this useless then you don't know much about making gold! This passive goes well with your incredible ability to farm minions/creeps.
Throws three cards which deal 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 (+65% of ability power) magic damage to each enemy unit they pass through.
Cooldown 5 seconds | Cost 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 mana | Range 10000
--I see a lot of bad Twisted Fate's get this skill first. If you can stay alive without getting Pick A Card first, then you're amazing. This spell is GREAT for AP builds, however, this is a physical DPS build. I will not focus my spelling order on this whatsoever, dead last.
Pick A Card
Cast once to shuffle the deck and again to choose your card, enhancing your next attack.
Blue Card deals 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 (+40% of ability power) bonus damage and restores the bonus damage in mana to Twisted Fate.
Red Card deals 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 (+40% of ability power) bonus damage plus his attack damage to units around the target and slows their movement speed by 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50%.
Gold Card deals half the bonus damage of Red and Blue Cards (+40% of ability power) and stuns for 1 / 1.25 / 1.5 / 1.75 / 2 seconds.
Cooldown 5 seconds | Cost 40 / 55 / 70 / 85 / 100 mana | Range 200
--This is what makes Twisted Fate a Twisted fate. This is your god spell. This spell will make you or break you. It's all about timing. Learn how to cycle this well and time that gold card well, or red card for your slow, or the blue card for returning mana and you will be highly successful towards not only you, but your team.
Passive: Every 4 attacks, Twisted Fate deals an additional 55 / 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 (+40% of ability power) damage.
In addition, his attack speed is increased by 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15% and his cooldowns are decreased by 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15%.
Cooldown 90 / 75 / 60 / 45 / 30 seconds | Cost 80 / 70 / 60 / 50 / 40 mana | Range 25000
--Sounds like Sword of the Divine, right? Yeah, it seems Twisted Fate was made with the Sword of the Divine in mind. After every third hit, I would harass the enemy/enemies in your lane. Excellent damage.
Reveals all enemy champions (including stealthed champions) for 6 / 6 / 6 seconds.
While Destiny is active, Twisted Fate can teleport anywhere on the map.
Cooldown 130 / 110 / 90 seconds | Cost 150 / 125 / 100 mana | Range 25000
--This makes you great at killing wounded people, not as good as Karthus, but damn near it. This also makes you able to basically obliterate annoying stealthers like Evelynn or Twitch, since it reveals stealth units. Also very useful in letting your team know enemy position. This is perhaps my favorite ultimate in the game.
Starter item: OR
--This is debatable. If you're laning in middle, of course you'll want Doran's Blade. If you're laning with someone else, you may want a Dagger for some extra speed. However, I almost always get Doran's Blade regardless of me going middle lane or not. The lifesteal really helps keep you alive.
-- Sword of the Divine is no doubt THE item for Twisted Fate. The extra bonus damage helps your Stacked Deck passive GREATLY. The attack speed and armor penetration active is just a great bonus. Zeke's Harbinger is to make you so you can lane longer. Lifesteal, the essence of survivability on a DPS. It also has a nice armor reducing effect on enemies as well. Malady? Yes. Although I'm not building for AP, the extra magic damage and the attack speed is great enough for me to decide to use it in my build. The AP is just a minimal bonus.
--Although most people get items like Frozen Mallet for health and slowing, I get extra damage. Why? Because why bother getting health to save you if you're not doing that good in the first place? If you get this far, you better believe you're destroying the enemy team.
greater mark of desolation greater mark of desolation
+1.67 Armor Penetration
--Pretty self explanatory, you are a squishy killer as well as a tank killer with this build. Without these runes though, I don't know if you'd be able to rend through armor as good.
Greater Seal of Evasion
--Although I don't put 9 points in defense down to the dodge chance bit, I still prefer dodge chance on any DPS that I play. Who knows, a dodge just might save you a couple times.
Greater Glyph of Cooldown Reduction
--Nothing says 'You've activated my stun card' faster than being able to spam your Pick A Card more often. I value cooldown reduction on any champion I play.
greater quintessence of desolation greater quintessence of desolation
+3.32 Armor Penetration
--Yet again to make you a tank killer. Helps out a lot late game.
I hope you have learned at least something about Twisted Fate using this guide. I didn't make it so people wouldn't look at it. If you like this build, uprate it if you wish. If you want to downrate it, please at least give a reason why in a post before you do. Nothing is worse than getting downrated after spending immense amounts of time on a build.
