Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
The following is a guide on how to turn this:
Born to the prestigious Crownguards, the paragon family of Demacian service, Luxanna was destined for greatness. She grew up as the family’s only daughter, and she immediately took to the advanced education and lavish parties required of families as high profile as the Crownguards. As Lux matured, it became clear that she was extraordinarily gifted. She could play tricks that made people believe they had seen things that did not actually exist. She could also hide in plain sight. Somehow, she was able to reverse engineer arcane magical spells after seeing them cast only once. She was hailed as a prodigy, drawing the affections of the Demacian government, military, and citizens alike.
As one of the youngest women to be tested by the College of Magic, she was discovered to possess a unique command over the powers of light. The young Lux viewed this as a great gift, something for her to embrace and use in the name of good. Realizing her unique skills, the Demacian military recruited and trained her in covert operations. She quickly became renowned for her daring achievements; the most dangerous of which found her deep in the chambers of the Noxian High Command. She extracted valuable inside information about the Noxus-Ionian conflict, earning her great favor with Demacians and Ionians alike. However, reconnaissance and surveillance was not for her. A light of her people, Lux's true calling was the League of Legends, where she could follow in her brother’s footsteps and unleash her gifts as an inspiration for all of Demacia.
"Her guiding light makes enemies wary, but they should worry most when the light fades."
― Garen, the Might of Demacia
Notes on the Guide
NOTE: This is my first LoL guide on mobafire so please leave me any feedback on improvements on Lux or just the guide in general.
Lux is personally one of my favorite champions to play. She is, for lack of a better word (and for want of a LotR reference), "tricksey". She is one of the highest utility AP casters to date. Between her Light Binding and Lucent Singularity, a good Lux is almost impossible to catch 1v1. People must also go to extraordinary lengths to avoid a Lux Laser when recalling with low HP.
I like to rush a Haunting Guise for the additional hp and magic pen. for survivability. I get an Athene's grail early on as well for the mana regen and cooldown reduction (for more lasers :3). Getting a Rabadon's Deathcap is essential for almost any mage, and Lux is no exception. Lich Bane is useful in conjunction with Lux's passive for really heavy burst damage. Sorcerer's Shoes can be switched for Ionian Boots of Lucidity if you really want the cdr but Sorcerer's Shoes are generally the stronger choice in moost cases. As for boot enchantments any kind except for furor are viable (all of Lux's abilities are aoe). Personnaly, I prefer alacrity but that's just me.
Like most skill sequences, this one is mostly personal preference. However do NOT max your Prismatic Barrier first. Lucent Singularity is generally a must to max first as it does more damage than Light Binding, on top of the fact that the bind duration for Light Binding doesn't scale with level.
Runes are mostly personal preference, but I feel that these runes are the best for an average Lux game. However, if you are facing an attack damage opponent in lane, or there is a ton of AD on their team, swap out the 9 Seal of Scaling Magic Resist for 9 Seal of Scaling Armor.
Pros / Cons
Has a shield
Doesn't fall off late
Useless passive post-laning
