Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Lux, The Lady of Luminosity is a very strong champion. Firstly because of the great zone control abilities and snare + slow. What I really like at her is passive skill , which deals really nice damage late game and it is very useful early game. In combination with Lich Bane
it can deal serious damage.
So let's start with abilities.
Illumination - This is Lux's passive skill. It is very nice and it deals very good damage late game. It is also very good early game. As I said, in combination with Lich Bane it is very strong. Description: Lux's damaging spells charge the target with energy for 6 seconds. Lux's next attack ignites the energy, dealing 20-190 (depending on Lux's level) magic damage to the target. / Try to activate passive every time you hit a target with your damaging spell.
Lucent Singularity - It is pretty nice spell and you can use it to see are your enemies in bushes, what is very useful on low levels just like on high levels. It can also slow your enemies and help you kill them. Now some people would ask why not Light Binding first? Well, it is much more easier to hit with Lucent Singularity than with Light Binding and it also makes AoE damage and slow enemies. If you ask me, I prefer saving mana till level 3, than start casting it, because it deals much more better damage than on level 1.
Light Binding - perfect for killing enemies. Take this on level 2. A TIP: When you successfully hit with this spell, cast Lucent Singularity near enemy, than activate passive skill with your attack, than activate Lucent Singularity and then again passive with your attack. It makes much more damage than activating LS autmatically after LB due to two passive attacks. This spell is pretty awesome when you have to escape. Cast it on enemy and than LS and run. While LB is holding him, LS will slow him so you have big chance to escape. Has a great damage and a range is good.
Prismatic Barrier - this is Lux's defensive ability. I don't take it on low levels because damage reduction is not so good without lot of ability power. Take it on level 13. If you like supporting more than dealing high damage, take this instead of LB or LS. If you ask me, not a great idea.
Finales Funkeln Finales Funkeln - Very big range, high damage, low cooldown, low mana cost - what else do you want? This is one of my favorite ultimate spell. In combination with LB and LS it makes serious damage. Using this ability very often should be a normal thing because the cooldown is really amazing. It also has another good side - it activates your current Illumination and apply a new one.
- Alright, this is the spell I almost always take. It deals nice damage and it reduces healing by 50% what is amazing against healers and especially against Dr.Mundo . It is very useful on Lux. When my enemy is on medium HP, I start with LB, activating my passive and than activating LS. Than I use Ignite and activating my second passive and finish enemy with Finales Funkeln. If enemy stays alive, I'm pretty sure he will die by Ignite. I like this spell because it finishes enemy when he is at low hp.
- Very useful spell. Great for finishing your enemies while trying to escape. You can also use it to escape from your enemies.
- This is good spell too. If you prefer killing or escaping with big movement speed, take this instead Flash.
NOW THIS SPELL
- I've seen mayn people taking this spell on Lux. It maybe can keep you on lane longer but I think that spell is pointless. First of all, this spell can help you up to lvl 9 and than you don't need it anymore. Later you have a lot of mana and mana regen and this spell should be switched with some other useful spell that you will use whole game. Taking this spell is a big mistake. Maybe you like regenerating your friend's mana? Sure, take it, the amount of mana that spell can restore will surely help you and your friends.
Other spells I won't even mention.
With Lux, I am going on high AP and Cooldown Reduction. Here is the list of items I buy with Lux.
Start with Meki Pendant. It will give you mana regen that is very important on beginning. Than buy Health Potion and Mana Potion, so you can regenerate your HP and MP when you are low.
After that, buy Boots of Speed. It will give you Movement Speed that will be enough to catch your enemies because you have Quickness in your Masteries that will increase your Movement Speed by 3%.
Now buy Tear of the Goddess. Buy it as soon as possible because you will start gaining mana that will help you to have more AP later, when you will make . It also gives mana and mana regen.
After that, make Ionian Boots of Lucidity for more Movement Speed and 15% Cooldown Reduction.
Now it's turn to make Rod of Ages. This is very useful item because it gives a lot of HP, MP and AP. Every minute you gain more stats.
It's time to make Morello's Evil Tome. Really great item. Gives you nice AP, 12 mana regen per 5 seconds and 20% Cooldown Reduction. It makes your ultimate even more better, due to big Cooldown Reduction.
Alright, now when you gained a lot of mana from Tear of the Goddess, it's time to make Archangel's Staff. Really awesome item. Gives you mana, mana regen, ability power and because you gained a lot of mana from Tear of the Goddess, it will give you even more AP - 3% of your total mana. If you haven't reached 1000 mana with Tear of the Goddess, you can do it with this item. Each time you activate a spell your max mana is increased by 4.
Now, while you have good AP, it's time to increase it even more! Make Rabadon's Deathcap. It gives amazing AP - 155 AP and increased ability power by 30%. That should finish your enemies quickly.
And at the end, while you have very big AP, make Lich Bane that will kill your enemies really fast. It also gives mana and good AP and it makes damage equal to 100% of your ability power. What is really good, it gives 30 Magic Resist and additional 7% movement speed. Pretty nice for finishing your enemies.
If you wana dodge Karthus ultimate spell or any other attacks or spells, you should try with
. It will make you invulnerable for 2 seconds. Buy it only if you REALLY need it!
Item Build Look
Your items should look like this:
- For Movement Speed and Cooldown Reduction
- For lot of HP, MP and AP
- For AP, Mana Regen and big Cooldown Reduction
- For MP, Mana Regen and big AP
- For very high AP
- For MP, Magic Resist, Movement Speed ( in % ), AP and dealing much more damage.
When you have all these items you should be unstoppable and strong enough to kill anyone.
Now let's start with runes.
It gives really nice AP that is very useful on beginning. In combination with other AP runes, it is very nice.
Magic Penetration Rune. Really useful for making more damage.
Another AP rune. Gives you additional AP to make bigger damage.
One more Magic Penetration Rune. Enables you to make more damage in combination with Greater Mark of Insight.
Why I prefer AP and Cooldown Reduction, as well as Magic Penetration is because that's what Lux needs. I maybe like more AP and CR than M-P because it is very nice to have high AP. I also don't have problems with M-P because there is Lich Bane that makes Physical Damage. I don't know for you but with this build I kill very easy and fast. If you wana more M-P, buy instead of if you have some other runes to fulfill the missing Cooldown Reduction.
While I was picking my masteries, I was focusing on M-P, Cooldown Reduction and Neutral Monster's Buffs time increasing.
I think that having Archaic Knowledge is really nice and much more important than spending all your Masteries Points in Utility. It gives you 15% Magic Penetration what is really awesome.
Other Masteries are focusing on Cooldown Reduction, like Intelligence, Presence of the Master and Sorcery.
Having EXP increase mastery is good too because you can level up faster.
I also have Quickness mastery to increase my Movement Speed by 3%. Very useful.
Other masteries are for mana and health regen, ability power, reducing time spent dead and Flash Cooldown reduction.
Well, this is the end of my guide. I hope I helped everyone who needed some help with Lux and all her stuffs. Please leave a comment and vote.
