" Illuminate the enemy " - Lux
Hi and welcome to my lux build. This build is for players that already know how to use her and can do quite well with her. If you're wondering why there is no Rylai's or Rod of Ages is because you get a lot more power out of the Arch Angel's + the stacks on Mejai. While adding a Zhonya Ring will help in case you're about to die so you don't really need to build a Rylai's for the extra HP. Note that this build is for a carry and not a support.
During team fights I'll shoot my Prismatic Barrier at my team so they can stay in the fight longer while I use my Light Binding then hit them with Lucent Singularity. Now you notice that they're glowing a little bit. This means that your attacks now do more damage to the enemy champion so I'll normal attack them a few times and finish with my Finales Funkeln. So the order goes W>Q>E>R. But if you're not too sure about your ult hitting then go W>Q>R>E
Lux's damaging spells charge the target with energy for 6 seconds. Lux's next attack ignites the energy, dealing 20-190 (depending Lux's level) magic damage to the target.
Lux releases a sphere of light that binds and deals 60/110/160/210/260 (+70% ap) damage to up to two enemy units, dealing 50% effect to the 2nd unit struck.
Cooldown 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 seconds | Cost 60 / 75 / 90 / 105 / 120 mana | Range 1000
Lux throws her wand to a target location and back, bending the light around herself and any friendly Champions it touches, protecting them from 50/75/100/125 (+30% ap) damage for 3 seconds.
Cooldown 14 / 13 / 12 / 11 / 10 seconds | Cost 75 mana | Range 1000
Fires an anomaly of twisted light to an area, which slows nearby enemies. Lux can detonate it to damage enemies in the area of effect.
After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam of light that deals 300/400/500 (+85% ap) damage to all targets in the area.
Cooldown 80 / 60 / 40 / 0 seconds | Cost 100 / 150 / 200 / 0 mana | Range 3000 / 0
Tips and Tricks
Lux is almost always the one focused first so I can not stress enough how much you should stay behind your team and use your ranged abilities. During team fights I shoot my W at my team mates so they get reduced damage and can stay in team fights longer. While they're in front I'm in the back throwing my snare down and my E. If any of them happen to run away they eat my lazer beam. Lux is very, very squishy. It's a good idea to usually have at least one or two people with you when laning phase is over. Also your E ability is a great way to check unknown places, for example bushes or fog, and a great way to check dragon or baron.
I've been getting a lot of controversy about how long Lux survives with this build, and the answer is no matter how squishy she is the survivability depends all on the user. Don't play dumb and you won't die. Plain and simple. Don't go chasing after another champ alone unless he's far from a turret and his team is on the other side of the map. Never ever chase a champ while his/her team is missing. Bad idea since it's usually a trap or bait for a gank.
When to Gank, When NOT to Gank
I usually gank when someone is pushing a lane way too far and the champ is alone. I'll get at least 2-3 people with me and box the idiot in. Snare from behind, ult, bam the idiot is dead. Never gank someone when the opposite team is all MIA and you see only one champ on your mini map. I mean something just don't sound right so just use some common sense.
Deeper Into the Item Sequence
I always start out with aDoran's Ring and oneHealth Potion. If I feel like I'm going to get pretty fed then I'll rush myMejai's Soulstealer and start building mySorcerer's Shoes. The start one of myArchangel's staff with aTear of the Goddess. Once my first Archangel is done I'll get myZhonya's Ring. To finally top it off buy two moreArchangel's Staff.
Rylai's Crystal Scepter,Rod of Ages,Lich Bane, andVoid Staff are all situational.
Let's say I'm going against a tank, my build usually looks like this,
If I know I'm not going to get fed
If I need to push
If I dropped all my stacks and want some more health
And if I just want more power
A mixture of them all, just because some times their team might be **** as ****
- Flash is a great way to get out of a gank, and also a way to chase down someone who tries to run. I can also use flash through a wall to set up a gank or flash through a wall to get out of one. Very handy in all situations.
- Ghost is a great way to get away from the crowd or chase down the crowd. Can be a very good combo with flash, just pop your ghost and flash thru a wall and run run run!
- Teleport is the one spell that can save your turret. If your turret is about to get pushed just pop your tele and snare the opposite team. Also a great spell for backdooring.
- Ignite is a good way to finish off someone. If your ult is on cool down just pop your flash and ignite and finish his sorry *** off.
- Clarity is really nice since some games I use more mana than usual. Since Lux has a mana hungry diet I might bring a clarity
Thanks for reading my build and I hope you enjoyed it! Best way to get the most out of this build is just to experiment and play around with different items. Please make sure to leave a comment and some feedback! It takes me a few hours to write the build and takes one minute for your to leave feedback. And also do not downvote please without a comment at least, I would really like to know why you didn't like it and hopefully improve my build. Thanks guys!
