This guide really is "Comprehensive"! Lots of details, and made me reconsider a lot of things that I knew (Or thought I knew) about Lux!

Just out of curiosity, what do you think about not levelling up W at all until your other 2 spells are maxed? You would be more vulnerable, true, but you'd do a lot more damage! And if you stay far enough away from your enemy, they can't really harm you, right?

An amazing, in-depth guide. I can't criticize 1 damn thing about it, I mean I don't play Lux so Idk about the build but the guide is AMAZING.

This deserves to be the #1 Lux guide in all honesty. I just have 1 problem. Tryndamere is actually probably the best buff stealer when the jungler doesn't Smite cuz you just enter and pop your R when it's about to die. If their Smite is down, kill it then E out lol. More risky, more easy to counter BUT, when carried off, makes them all cry rofl.

Sincerely,

JungleKing

If my comment helped you or lol, Check out my new guide, Evelynn,The reworked killer. I will also review your guide, Just send me a PM and I'll get right on it.

( Warning:

my reviews are mostly in-depth and long. If you just want a quick summary, be sure to tell me.

Great guide. Not much I can really say is wrong with it. Clearly either a lot of research has gone in to get the numbers for the combos (which is great btw, don't see many guides do that) or some real number crunching went down. Once you finish up the lane match ups this really will be comprehensive. +1

Don't start Doran's Ring. Start Boots of Speed + 3 health pots. You 100% cannot play effectively without the mobility from boots. It allows you to position for skillshots, feint and retreat more quickly, avoid enemy harass and evade ganks from the enemy jungler. You also get a 450 hp cushion for laning. Doran's ring isn't worth the loss of all those stats.

Brute Force > Mental Force . 3 AD is worth a lot more than 3 AP when you do the math. You'll end up doing more total damage (with autoattack harass for illumination procs) and you'll find lasthitting is a little easier. Also gives you an edge early game when you use autoattacks to harass instead of your relatively weak lvl 1 spells.

Yes, I consider the Boots of Speed to be a good choice overall, hence why I have included it in the "starting items" section. It's really just personal preference, since I find 424 health is kinda low to start the game with xD.

Thanks for the suggestions on the masteries for Brute Force, I'll try it out sometime, see how well it works out. Who knows, maybe I'll implement this for my other champions as well! :)

If you have any further questions regarding my comments, feel free to PM me, and I will answer them to the best of my abilities.

If I have helped out, a +rep would be appreciated!

That's what I'm telling you. They aren't equally viable. Doran's Ring is not a viable starting option on most AP mids. There are a couple, like Morgana, who could conceivably get away with it, but Lux can't. I can't make you change the way you play or what you put in your guide, but I'm insisting anyway. If you find yourself feeling squishy, that usually means you just have to play more carefully and abuse your range. Don't play too aggressively in the early levels. If your opponent has a Doran's Ring instead of boots, you can easily outsustain them as long as you keep from being bursted completely. 450 health from pots plus the mobility from boots is much more effective for harassing than 15 AP and 80 hp.

Good luck trying the AD mastery. It works better than 3 AP on pretty much every mage there is. Some people don't use it on Karthus because they don't autoattack (they just Q instead), but other than that, I don't think 3 AP is better than the AD on any caster. Even Karthus can use the AD if you just throw in a few autos for harass early game.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions, I'll keep that in mind. :D

Maybe I need to allow myself some time to get used to getting Boots of Speed, to get a full idea of its potential.
