All you need to know

First off, I am lazy and only lvl 23 so I like to have runes in place that are fairly generic and serve to benefit all champions. I tend to play more defensive in nature which is why I use mostly the defensive masteries, again to benefit all champions. My Maokai build is heavily dependant on just blowing through all my mana since I grabbed clarity. The key is to just keep harrassing the enemy continually. Working with other mana based champions is great because you can blow all ur mana and they can blow half of theirs then clarity it back. Clarity has come in useful for me many times now by baiting the enemy into a battle where they believe you are out of mana and useless. All of the items are based around AP or health. Getting void staff right away is something i do 100% of the time. It basically just ignored most of the defenses people will try to build against you. I spend much of the time just grinding in the lane and hiding in the bushes harrassing. Clarity is key to this strategem. By lvl 7 sapling toss will be at lvl 4 which is enough to gib the magi minions with one toss. They key combo I try to use is sapling toss so that they get hit by the impact, twisted advance to root them so the sapling definitely hits , and then arcane smash to slow them for allies. The problem with this build is the lack of actual melee damage. But i believe it more than makes up for it. Tank wise this build is more suited to coming into battle after the enemy has alrdy been engaged. Toss a sapling, drop vengeance over your team and root/slow whichever enemy tries running first. Popping maelstrom at the right time can possibly snag a multikill or ensure that at least one foe bites it.

Quite a bit, but I am fairly certain that is all.
