If you play Malphite make sure you know what all his abilities are doing and how they work. You also have to make enough minion kills and always be aware for low mana. Malphite can escape easy with his ult beacause you can through walls with it. Always keep that in mind.
His passive Granite Shield, gives him a shield up to 10% of his max health. It has a low cool-down (10sec) if it gets damaged and if you have more health you have more shield.
His Q Seismic Shard, is a auto click attack. It is easy to use and can do a lot of damage, it also slows the enemy for 4 seconds. It does magic damage and follows the champion until it hits.
His W Brutal Strikes, lights up Malphite. When Malphite uses his W, Malphite lights up and deals bonus damage, armor and lets him attack multiple units with his basic attacks. Use it when u run and before you do a combination attack.
His E Ground Slam, lets him slam into the ground. If u use Malphite's E you deal a lot of damage, when you are tank this attack is your main damage ability. Because it uses half of you're armour to damage. Just like attack damage and ability power by other champs.
His R Unstoppable Force, lets his enemies fly. If you use his R Malphite gains all his rage and beats into the area you select. If you do this you do some magic damage and it is very powerful in team fights or when you're going to combo for a kill.
I've chosen these runes, because you want especially in the beginning do some damage with you're Q. The armour is also for the damage on his E, and the tank. Magic resistance is only for tank.
The item order is very important, especially in early game/build. You have to follow the build order until you have the Negatron Cloak. When u have this item you can choose if you first want the magic resistance or the extra damage. It is important that the Sunfire Cape is you last item, because this is the less imortant if you're heavy damaged by AD and AP. You can get a Thornmail if you need it instead of a Atma's Impaler If you need extra magic resistance buy a Banshee's Veil instead of the Sunfire Cape.
To play solo top and rule the game without ganks (not always possible) you need your opponent low hp. To do this use you need Seismic Shard(Q) (if you play against a healing opponent you definitely need ganks). You use this ability because it does good damage and is irritates, unfortunately it eats mana. So each time you use the spell wait for the next until you have full mana again. If your opponent is low enough hp 1/4 or less and u are lvl 6 you can prepare for the attack. Get mana use your Q 1 more time wait 3 sec and use R,W,Q,E and ignite. Most of the time you need 1 more Q that's why we use it not last. This method does't work against all champs. If a player plays very aggressive it is a lot harder to do this, so you need to find another way to get kills. Ganks are in this situation most useful, so if you got the money always buy a sight and a vision ward to make sure you can see your ganker and destroy your enemies ward.
