Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Malphite. If you looked him up, you'd probably find him listed under "tank."
Malphite's abilities enable him to seek and destroy opposing AD carries and AP champions alike. And I'm going to show you how.
I personally prefer armor pen marks and quints combined with defensive seals and glyphs for any AD character due to the early game damage. Plus, as Malphite, the flat armor seals help with his Ground Slam in early game. If you feel that somehow your critical chances are lacking and have spare IP to spend, crit chance runes would also get the job done.
Because of the sheer fact that this Malphite build is focusing on his damage, the offensive tree masteries should speak for themselves.
Insane damage with crits and splash
Naturally tanky, further reinforced by increased hp
Mediocre early game at best
Difficult to get use to
Start out with Cloth Armor and health pots for the early game sustain. Laning should be fairly passive due to crit Malphite being a mid to late-game character, as with any other AD carry. Laning is best done with a ranged character who has a good harass, like Galio for example. (Be sure to assert lane dominance and get those last hits!) Once you grab Ninja Tabis, you should immediately opt out for a B.F. Sword, followed by Vampiric Sceptre for lane sustainability and Cloak of Agility for the crit chance. Once you get your Infinity Edge, you should start to feel the power of crit Malphite. The combination of Zeal's speed increase combined with Malphite's Q's slow allow for easy chases and escapes mid-game. In lane skirmishes, make sure to use E (Ground Slam) for the attack speed slow and Q (Seismic Shard) when they try to run away. Your next buy should be Phantom Dancer for obvious reasons, followed by Warmogs for the HP plus AD boost from Atmas. Once your damage items are complete, purchase Guardian Angel to ensure your survival in fights.
*if the opposing team is squishy in its entirety, a Tiamat may be worth the purchase due to the added splash damage.
The Skill Sequence should speak for itself. W is obviously the primary skill due to its AD and armor bonus, where as your other skills should be used for escapes and chases. With a movement slow, attack speed slow, and a knock up, Malphite can easily take down opposing AD carries.
I personally prefer Ghost/Flash due to the sheer mobility that Malphite gains with these spells. Sometimes I opt out for ghost/exhaust if my team is lacking a counter to AD carries.
All in all, the damage brought by Malphite in a team fight is devastating, especially when combined with Tiamat. Crits with Infinity Edge combined with Malphite's W causes red bars to pop up all over team fights. Malphite's Q make him a great chaser, while his E makes him a formidable 1 v 1 fighter against AD carries.
Malphite can be one of the strongest damage dealers out there if played correctly.
If you're bored, try it out sometime.
