When can you update the masteries??

I played Malphite for the first time using my Yorick masteries which are basically 9 point in offense rather than utility and gets me 4% CDR, 10% MPEN and a bit of AD for last hitting. To me, this seems better than some movement speed and a tiny bit of mana for laning, am I way off? To be fair, I've only played him three times, but all three games were relatively successful.

IT comes back to how agressive i am and i want to cast more spells and do more damage over a longer time because with the extra spells at 6 they are dead instantly but that is just my opionion, there are many ways to drop a rock on someones face.

9 and 11 isnt that farfetched actually but the double idea is irelavant you said as a slow and if you are past 6 and aint gonna get a kill with ur ult you shouldnt be ganking anyways

I see your point, but I think you exaggerate a bit.

First, the actual increase per rank of Q's slow is 3%.

Second, I actually consider it the double since it's a MS steal: if he loses 3% more and you gain 3% more, it's an actual 6% increase of the MS difference between you and your target.

Third: Sure, your clear time is a bit better with W, but reaching 11 before I reach 9 with Q first ? I don't think so. Besides, with Q first, you might get quite a bit of gold and experience from your better ganks.

I'm not saying maxing Q first is necessarily better, but it is an alternative anyone should consider.

Q's slow increase is miniscule at best and is not worth leveling up over the increased clear time of w aswell as the amazing damage mitigation. Q is not needed at all except for one point as a 2% per level slow is worth much less then the matter of sustain and clear time which levels you faster and lets you hit level 11 before you would hit 9 with a q max.

Nice guide, great item build... I'm just concerned about your skill order in the jungle.

Why max your Q last ? It's your best ganking tool aside from your ult, and the slow scales when you rank it... The E nerf forced me to rethink my jungling, and today I honestly believe that even before the nerf, it was more beneficial to max Q first. It helps a lot for pre-6 ganks, helps a lot for ganks in general, and the slow from the lvl 1 ability is too low to call it a 1-point-wonder.

I don't even see why anyone would max W before Q. W helps a bit your jungling, but Q is just too good for ganks... I really think you don't need more than 1 point in W for the splash damage and the armor steroid. It won't replace itemization.

Shurelias isnt for lane although it helps his ults speed so it is easier to hit it is for overall mobility and improvmet

Really a nice guide, especially the jungling part, but a solid tank malphite can be better for lanephase, instead of picking shurelya's , in my opinion, but really a nice guide, and really nice work.
