Introduction

Hello Summoners I am WallaWallaBang and this is my guide to Malphite 'Shard of the Monolith' I will be covering the main points of a Solo Top Malphite and how to play him affectivly in game. Now first some things you need to know about Malphite are that he is a mix of AD and AP so he can be played both ways but I am going to be talking about how to play him while staking things such as Armor and Magic Resist Enjoy!!!

Skill Sequence

Granite Shield - Absorbs Damage up to 10% of Malphite Maximum Health and if not hit for 10 seconds this shield will recharge. This Passive is a really nice passive to have letting you be harrased and it not really mattering as much as it would usually.
Seismic Shard - Sends a shard of rock towards an enemy dealing Magic Damage and stealing movement speed for 4 seconds. This ability is very good for harrasing and getting away giving Malphite more mobility then he already has.
Brutal Strikes - Gives you increased Attack Damage for the % of armor you have for a short ammount of time. This ability is very useful in some situations late game but not a main damage deale rearly on so max this out very last.
Ground Slam - Deals damage equal to half his armor as well as slowing enemy's for 4 seconds. This with you're Q Seismic Shard makes for a decent ammount of damage early on in the game.
Unstoppable Force - Malphite Charges to a set postion with such force dealing Magic Damage and knocking you're enemy's hit in the air. This ability is one of malphites greatest CC's using this well placed ulimate insures a great team fight.

Runes

My rune set up is...
Armor pen Marks These give you some armor pen early game making you do a decent ammount of damage.
Armor Seals These just help you take less damage early game making you more effective.
Attack Damage per Level Glyphs Gives you more damage that scales into the late game.
Attack Damage Quints Flat AD give you more Damage output right away.
Now these are just my standard AD runes I do not have special runes just for Malphite but these are still my prefered choices of runes for any ADC and or fighter Champion, giving you and good enough damage output with enough sustain with you're small ammount of armor nlocking out many auto attacks early on in the game.

Runes

Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush

Masteries

For Masteries I go for the setup 0/21/9 and I will explain my reasoning behind it.....
In the Defence Tree I grab all of the points you will need as a solo top. Grabbing the Armor and Magic Resist with Damage reduction from Minions, Going to Health and Health Regen whenever possible, This is great because it gives you more Health and Armor making it easier to counter you're oposing enemy/enemy's top.
In the Utility Tree I grab Manna/ Manna Regen making it easier to harrass with you're high costing Q and or E. Now these are helpful because Malphite is very manna dependent early game making it harder to get continuous harrass off.

Summoner Spells

For summoner spells there are a variety of spells that are viable when using Malphite
GOOD CHOICES
Teleport - This is a great choice when soloing giving you the chance to go to base and buy items and being able to get back to you're lane before you're opponent giving you're opponent no advantage while you were gone.
Flash - Since Malphite does not have any escapes this is a good choice giving you the chance to get away or even secure a kill for you're team.
Exhaust - Is a good choice letting you slow a target from killing you or slowing them to get a kill, making it a very viable choice for Malphite
Ghost - A good viable choice, giving you the ability to use it to catch up to a target or run away from the target. Not my favorite over Flash
BAD CHOICES
Promote - Is a bad choice of spell in witch because it is only useful for pushing when you go to base and you're opponent is dead. Please do not take this spell
Surge - Is not a good choice unless you are going AP Malphite and you want extra damage early on in the game, I still do not recomend this spell
Cleanse - Is not a good choice because there are not many times when you will be that hard CC'd
Now these are just the summoner spells I think should be mentioned, if there is any you would like to know or think should be on here comment and bring it to my attention!

Items

Ninja Tabi - Ninja Tabi are my standard boots. Great for countering the AD Solo Tops. Ninja Tabi is also a good source of early damage if you need it. Since his W scales with Armor makes these a very nice choice.
Frozen Heart - Frozen Heart is a good idea to consider for Malphite since he usually has manna problems early game. Now as well as manna the Frozen Heart gives you Armor Now this is also a great and standard item for Malphite
Randuin's Omen - Randuin's Omen is a situational item, now if the enemy team is succeeding in team fights consider a Sunfire Aegis for the AOE damage. But with that said if you need more damage for you're W and be able to feel more unkillable.
Shurelya's Battlesong - Shurelya's Reverie is a good item for you're team giving allies a 40% movement speed boost for 3 seconds. Now along with this useful passive it give you the helpful Health, Health Regen, Manna Regen. This is very useful for you're Manna problems and gives you extra Health.
Force of Nature - Force of Nature is a great item, having the most Magic Resist in the item inventory. Along with the Magic Resist the Health Regen is golden! I'd pick up every time.
Now these are just my recommended items but of course there are certain situations when you will need to make changes in the build to adapt to the problem and counter it! These are some good Situational items.
Warmog's Armor - Warmog's Armor is a fantastic choice in case you need to have a high ammount of health for team fights. A good situational choice!
Rylai's Crystal Scepter - Rylai's Crystal Scepter is a good choice, for the extra health and that small amount of AP Helps you're Q E R.
Locket of the Iron Solari - Locket of the Iron Solari good since it has armor.... pretty much it other then its a support item
If you want to know about other items just comment and bring it to my attention! Thank you!

Item Sequence

Poacher's Knife - Warrior 2250
Nomad's Eye 0
Timeworn Ancient Coin 400
