Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey everyone, roughhouse here, I'm new to mobafire, and I've recently been added my builds that I use during matches, they may not be the best, but they get the job done, if you play similar to my style. If you have any improvement ideas, be more than willing to add a comment!
Thanks guys, and I hope you all enjoy trying this build (if you do)!
Malzahar is one of the most DPS (damage per sec) oriented mages out there, with enough magic penetration and a **** ton of AP, you'll be dishing out a crazy amount of dmg. Call to the void summons two ways of energy that shoot inwards, each way has its on dmg, so if you land these perfectly, your baddie you're laning with will run home to heal alot! While the other core ability, Malefic Visions does DPS over time and is sorta like an ignite, however it it transfers to a nearby target if the old one dies, causing Malzahar to gain mana. This ability is perfect for getting last hits of minions, or just clearing a minion wave. You will need to focus on these two abilities (except your ult) if you want to be succesful. After every 4 spells, I believe (havent ever really noticed), Malzahar will summon a uncontrollable voidling that will attk any near enemies for a short time. this voidling will grow in power during its timed lifespan. Malefic Visions attract this voidling and cause it to attk that target. Nether Grasp is your ultimate, and is amazing! Time your voidling correctly and throw a Malefic Visions on your target and Hold them still with Nether Grasp, and its usually ( if not all the time ) a 1-2 KO punch to whoever the target is.
I use ghost, which allows me to run away in sticky situations, and Clarity, so when I run out of mana potions, I just get some more mana and am able to stay in lane jsu t that much longer. Clarity also gives you that opportunity to spam skills during team fights. But, as always, feel free to find the summoner spells that work for you!
I run with lots of magic penetration in the beginning of the game so my spells will cut right through their defenses. Then I start increasing my mana pool with archeangel's staff, which also increases your ability power, a win-win. Then get the one item all mages get, Rabadon's Deathcap the max out your ability power, now your spells are just reaching the stupid powerful level. The rest of the build helps with cooldowns and makes you less squishy.
Stay in the back of the group at all times, you will be the main dmg dealer, and probably cant hold your own when they close the distance. Stay behind or just stay with a tank-like person in the late game, and you will be fine. Good luck out there and remember Have Fun!!!!
