The thing is, I've heard that Hextech Revolver and Will of Ancients doesn't work well on Malzahar because his skills (all DoTs and AoEs) only receive 33% of any Spell Vamp he has. Essentially what that means is, with Hextech Revolver, he only gets 5% Spell Vamp as opposed to 15%, barely healing him for anything.

I would consider Rylai's over Will of Ancients and getting tear of Goddess early on so you have a ton of mana at your disposal mid-game and have no desire for Golem Buff every 5 minutes.

Everything looks fine, I personally would get AP a little sooner, maybe get the amp tome before finishing BV. However I strongly agree with getting a Banshee's Veil on him, straight HP isnt the best way to protect yourself as Malz, BV passive is much more helpful. All in all a good AP oriented build, with appropriate survival items. I give it a +1.

One suggestion though, I dont find the mastery Greed to be very good. A little math: 1 gold every 10s. In 30 minutes, that's 1800 seconds. Divide that by 10 and you have 180 10-second periods. So in the average 30 minute game, you only gain 180 gold out of this mastery, which is comparable to killing ~8 or 9 creeps. I think you'd be better off putting that extra one into Expanded Mind, Good Hands, or the ignite one.
