Flash is good to either get away or jump into combat, can also use ghost if you prefer that.
Skill Sequence
Next thing you wanna max is W-Twisted Adwance because it stuck players in place, and get a longer duration.
When getting into a team fight always use your ulti middle of the fight, because it reduce dmg taken by 20% from players. When closing it, maokai will unleash the absorbed dmg (2+dmg per dmg abosrbed)
